This positive review is months or years overdue. Based on numerous visits to Goodyear, I consider their recommendations and skills excellent and reliable. The repair technicians are strong, with at least three I've seen for years. Probably their most experienced gentleman, Eric, has decades of experience, takes pride in the craft, and enjoys cars. Top notch. If I try to start naming people, I'm afraid I'll get names wrong, but Hector and L. are two other good people I've seen for a long time. The staff/managers at the counter, Shakira, Ari, and Pat are knowledgeable and gracious. Along with at least one prior manager, Paul, they have advised and helped me, occasionally without charge. They're also accustomed to assisting customers with available discounts and payment arrangements, if applicable. I first came to this Goodyear long ago, if I recall, due to my connection to the Goodyear in Gainesville, maybe including a tire coverage plan. My family once had a least a dozen separate accounts in their computer system, which made looking up history difficult! Could I use a mom-and-pop tire shop and save a bit? -- probably. And do I wish that valve stems would last longer? (I've had bad luck with tire leaks over the years.) Finally, my worst repair here was years ago to fix a suspected transmission leak, in a last ditch effort to avoid my old car getting a transmission rebuild -- no luck, and upon significant payment, a former manager ("Sr.") avoided looking me in the eye, perhaps feeling badly for me given the rebuild I still faced. Even with that, overall they've steered me reliably. At Goodyear in south Tampa, I trust their expertise and repairs. {Outdoor photos show that this Goodyear is across from Britton Plaza and view from Dale Mabry, and indoor photos show customer waiting area. Shakira the manager is incredibly rude and will blame the client for not knowing the types of diagnoses the store offers. So you end up wasting money on a replacement you don't need, your problem is NOT solved, (but somehow it's your OWN fault). She also hang up the phone on me. Unacceptable behavior for a manager!

Awful We gave them two week notice to order the tires and execute a very simple change and five hours later the job was not done I strongly suggest you find any other place to handle any of the work that you need done well. If you are desperate, and your car is on fire, it is possible they can figure out how to get you a cup of water. Beyond that good luck.

Awful! The manager Shakera was incredibly rude after my daughter had been a loyal costumer. Sold her an overpriced service she didn't need and blamed her for not knowing the different types of diagnosis services the store offers. Zero accountability and even hung up the phone on us! Stay away from this place.

Please do not be instantly turned away by the recent bad reviews here. I honestly don’t get why so many people have such a problem with this place. I live right across the block and have taken my car here for everything from tire repairs, battery replacements, and A/C issues and have been met with courtesy and quick repairs every time. Yes, they are understaffed sometimes…it’s 2024, what place isn’t?? I especially wish people would stop lashing out on the one woman working behind the counter, she’s a nice person doing her best. These are real people we’re talking to, not robots.

First off, this place had what we needed to get our family back on the road and was the only place with in 150 miles. On our 75 north travels we blew two tires one an then 20 miles later another on our 5th wheel. This literal saved us and the manager was more than accommodating and willing to help! We didn’t utilize their change service as we were stuck on the side of the highway but nevertheless the customer service was very excellent! I want to send a huge shout out to the Store manager Shakira and will recommend any one traveling in the Tampa area in need of wheel and tire go see her!

Very poor service. Very uninformed and unprofessional desk clerk, Shakera. I advised my son to go here, as I had good experiences years ago, but immediately regretted having sent him here. He had a nail in his tire, on the shoulder, and she told him it couldn't be replaced because it was on the wall. It was no where near the wall. As well, she was so childish and ignorant, that when I told her our mechanic said it was patchable, she asked, in a very teenage condescending manner, "is your mechanic licensed?". I told her he was, but that his shop was in plant city, so we were trying to get it patched for now. She then said, "well, take it to him then. Have the day you deserve". And hung up. My day is great, even with that ignorance, but she was so uninformed that she simply should have said that due to liability, ( and trying to sell tires), goodyears policy says they cannot patch tires with holes on the shoulder. I found that out by calling Firestone since she was uniformed and couldnt simply say thst. Someone needs some people and policy training. We will be getting it taken care of at our mechanic shop in plant city. Super Service Auto Tech, where the Service has always been professional and friendly. Not to mention, not over priced. Goodyear priced his tire at $364. Lol...they are truck tires, but talk about pricing gouging. The tire is patchable, but if we ever need tires, we'll get them for at least $100 less, each. Horrible mechanic shops in tampa is why my family drives to plant city to even get oil changes done, to get good honest work, and professional service, at reasonable prices. Goodyear is not any of that.

I call today on the morning Patrick respond to my phone. I asked him to get me one tire. He tried to sell for me a tire for $450 and when I look online I find the same tire in$263 with everything. I called him again. He said yes the tire can be here at 1 PM. I waiting to call I waiting to call I did not receive any call. I come back to them at 5 PM. He said oh I did not get any delivery today from the warehouse he want me to buy the tire for 450 which is same tire he have it stuck, but he don’t want to sell, I have two vehicle I replace the tire on that place. I’m not coming back here. There is a really nice lady a Blonde used run that place she doing amazing job I’m not coming back here at all Patrick, you are terrible person with a terrible attitude and terrible customer service Just in case, he lie about his name He’s African-American short guy On the front desk

Quoted almost $450+ for an oil and fuel filter change on my truck. Was in the automotive trades for over 10 years and have never seen such an unreasonable pricing for filter changes. Got the same service done for almost $250 less.

Horrible customer service went in for tire issues got home same tire issues. Nothing was fixed. Nothing was taken care of and they suggested it was the prior management issues. Not theirs. Not happy. Will never go back there.

My experience was better than I expected. Car owners are often swindled out of their hard earned coins when it comes to unnecessary maintenance. Goodyear does no such thing. My vehicle was going in for some new wheels (tires) & after being advised from the dealership an alignment was recommended , I fully expected to need the service after the installation. Wrong! The technicians did their thing and evaluated my vehicle and gave it the green light! The service wasn’t needed after all!! I appreciate the honesty and that is what makes a loyal returning customer. The staff is inviting and personable. Even called to confirm my appointment 3 days prior leading up to the appointment. My car and I are grateful for their expertise and because they are Nationwide, I can easily visit anywhere I move or travel to for tire services such as repair or maintenance.

I didn't catch the woman's name who was running the front desk, but I wanted to take a moment to commend her on the excellent service I received today. I had a blow out on the way back from the beach, with no spare to change it out. Had my car towed to this location and even though it was getting late in the day and the phone was ringing off the hook at times, she was very friendly, patient, and understanding. She helped several customers while we were waiting, always in a professional manner, and didn't turn anyone away due to time of day. A big thank you to the technician as well, who got my car in and out in great time and conducted a thorough inspection. Would most definitely return to this location, even though I live about a half hour away. A+ service!

I got a nail in my tire on the way home from the grocery store and they made the repair quick and easy at a good price. They squeezed me in right before close and even let me store my milk in the fridge while I waited. Couldn’t be happier with how simple and nice the service was.

I had to come here to patch my trailer tire for my Travel trailer. Nobody else would patch it and kept trying to sell me a tire. Since my tire was a Goodyear, I figured, might as well go to Goodyear. I was promptly greeted and quickly helped by the two wonderful advisors in the front of the store. They told me a few hours and had it done in one. They don’t have much for a waiting room if you’re waiting for your tires or car service to be completed. Hopefully they can fix that and add a water dispenser, as they only have coffee available. This is the only reason they got 4 stars. Very happy with the service I received.

I have been a loyal customer for 3 years but I will NEVER return. Paul always treated me great! They told me one amount to pay and when they called me to pick up it was a different amount. Poor customer service and attitude by the new store manager Bre. When I asked to speak to her they claimed she was on break when I saw her pass by. Deceptive and dishonest. Will never go back!!!!

I have been a loyal customer to this location for 4 years. Several oil changes, averaging 90/per service of full synthetic. Further, the staff was honest with what needed to be fixed and what could wait each and every time I had by car serviced. Now, under new management, they are very corporate and seem forced to push up sales. My oil change is now considered a special import from Europe - increasing to 150/per change. I asked them to check 2 small items and was met with 4 suggestions that would increase my routine visit to hundreds of dollars. It’s sad. I loved this location and experience before the change. Now I have to search for a new place that is not just trying to meet numbers…

I have been three times now. I will continue to go back there again. I feel that the ladies in the front are always honest with me and give me options. They were honest about whether something needed to get done or not and were knowledgable about what was being done. Waited for my car to get fixed on Saturday, was offered water on three different occasions.

I tried to give them another chance but they once again proved that they can't keep their word. Called Monday to make appointment for Friday and they could not get me in like they promised. Seen NOW HIRING SIGNS ALL OVER they know they couldn't get to me why lie. As I was leaving one of the machines caught a car on fire and smoke was everywhere.🤔

My alternator left me stranded and I really hoped, but didn’t expect, to be able to get my car back the same day (I arrived on a Saturday at 3PM). Brinn was so nice and helpful, and they had it done in 3hr at the exact price I approved. I’ll definitely be back…in fact I’m planning later this week for brake pads!

South Tampa Goodyear installed a DieHard battery January 2022. The battery is 100% dead and will not jump. The battery has been left to charge overnight and still is dead and will not jump. I brought my battery in this morning for an exchange in hopes that they would honor the DieHard warranty and was told that I need to somehow get my dead vehicle to South Tampa from the Odessa area so they can inspect my vehicle and make sure the VIN matches and install it themselves, like any jabroni can’t install a battery. I inquired how I was supposed to get the vehicle all the way out there when the battery won’t start. I was met with shrugged shoulders, an empty apology, and basically told I was on my own in that regard. I heard the red haired lady with the tattoos, who I assume is a manager or assistant, tell someone they were a corporate location, so I will be filing a complaint with the corporate office as soon as they are open. It’s ridiculous that I have to jump through hoops to get a battery replacement on a 3 year warranty after only a year and a half. I’d like to do that without having to pay a tow truck to haul my vehicle across the county. Update: The corporate office did make it right and agreed to swap my battery per the warranty without towing my car in. I appreciate the quick attention to the matter.

This place is a total scam. Don't trust anything they say or sell. I took my Jeep in several weeks ago because I had a nail in my tire and needed it repaired as well as my Jeep starting slow. I get a call saying the tire needs replaced due to the location of the nail. I said no problem, I have Road Hazard insurance on all my tires so a new tire is covered . They proceed to tell me they won't put on a new tire because the tread on my other tires are too low and that I would have to BUY 3 more tires! I told them that is impossible, I had purchased 2 of the tires less than 2 years ago and I don't drive the vehicle much. They said since my vehicle is AWD I would have to replace them all. For one, my vehicle is not AWD it is 2WD unless I engage 4WD. So I tell them to leave the tire as is and I will shop around. They also telle I need a new battery and that is the reason for the sluggish starting issue. The offer to replace battery for around $500. I told them no thanks. I go to Discount Auto buy a new battery for $250 and replace it myself. I took the old one that they said was no good back to Discount for them to test it. It tests FINE! It was a 2 year old battery with no problems with it. So they lied about me needing a new battery and refused to give me a new tire for my road hazard insurance and tried to get me to buy 3 more tires. Total scam this place! So I take the vehicle back several weeks later because with all the construction going on in South Tampa I got more nails in my other tires and they flat out refused the road hazard AGAIN! Please do yourself a favor and don't trust this place. Things they say need to be repaired may actually not need it at all. Find tires somewhere else that will not play games when you're unfortunate enough to get nails in your tires. Apparently they have the right to deny road hazard if they dont want to do it. Apparently word is getting out about this place. Stop in and look at their business......its dead. There are two other tire places within a stones throw all booming with business but you go in this Goodyear and its dead with maybe one other person there. Its always like this. Word is getting around.
