RIP-OFF ALERT! My wifes’ check engine light went so she drove it to Griffis to have it checked. They told her she needed 4 spark plugs and an ignition coil replaced. They also did a fuel injection service. A few hours later my wife and I went back to pick up the car, and thats when we saw that the total bill was $650!!! The same Denso Coil-On-Plug Ignition OEM Standard Ignition coil that they installed is also sold at AutoZone, for $89. Griffis charged my wife $250 for that same part! I understand that some mechanics make profit off of parts, but charging 2 to 3x's more than the price Autozone sells it for is ridiculous. I called Firestone, because I was curious how much they would charge me for the same exact service, using the same exact parts, plus a fuel injection service, and they quoted me a price of $413. $227 dollars less than Griffis Auto Repair. Firestone was the only other auto repair shop that I called, but I assume I could have found another auto repair shop that would have quoted me an even less expensive price. I called Griffis Auto and spoke with Tim Harper, and asked him to explain why they are charging so much more than Firestone, and that I was thinking about posting my experience on social media. He offered an $80 refund for the “misunderstanding” I accepted the refund of course, but what I still do NOT accept is a family owned business tried to take advantage of a vulnerable customer. Despite the refund, I feel its best to post about my experience to let others know the type of customer service that they might receive **UPDATE 7/21/19. Reply to Griffis post: Of course she agreed to price, she thought her car was unsafe to drive elsewhere, and she has no clue about cars. She trusted that the price you gave was necessary for the problems her car had. Your shop is the kind of shop that people with no knowledge of cars fear that they'll end up at when they're desperate for service!

The only shop I trust in Orlando. Brought them in a truck that I thought may have had a cracked block, upon further inspection they said that it was a cracked heater hose component on the back of the block. There are certainly no shortage of shops that could have taken advantage of the situation and told me that I needed a new motor however Griffis was upfront, honest and did excellent work got my truck back on the road within 3 days. Highly recommended!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 10/10 Experience! I can’t say enough good things about Griffis Automotive Repair! The moment I walked in and explained my issue, Tim immediately came out to check my car. Within seconds, he figured it out with ease and speed, explaining every single step of what needed to be done. He was incredibly fast, efficient, and went above and beyond to make sure everything was handled perfectly. The entire staff was so sweet and welcoming—it just felt like a place you can trust. It’s rare to find a shop this honest and dependable, and I’ll happily support them any chance I get. If you need honest, top-tier service, this is the shop to trust. Huge shoutout to Tim for making my experience stress-free and seamless!

Been taking my F150 here for a couple years now. Great local shop, excellent communication and its great that they are willing to work on vehicles that have been modified, which can be a pain at dealerships. Tim is always quick with answers and solutions on any issues that my truck has experienced. If he doesn't have a solution right away, he takes his time and researches it. Quality work and reasonable prices, thanks again guys!

THEY ARE SURPRISINGLY MOTIVATED TO HELP!! Excellent service, sharp troubleshooting and saved the DAY for me personally. I originally went to my usual Mazda Dealership for an issue that stemmed from my trunk door not functioning after my interior open button was pressed, while at the same time someone had manually forced the trunk open. Immediately, the trunk door wouldn't latch closed and beeped repeatedly trying to tell me to close my unlatchable door. VERY frustrating. The Mazda dealership wanted to charge me a $175 diagnostic fee right off the bat, for which they weren't willing to explain what would happen during, or why it costs $175 to do a diagnostic. They were also rude about me even asking any questions, so I left. After calling a few other places, I called Griffi's and spoke to Tim - VERY friendly, empathic, and willing to go the extra mile if he could. They got me in right away, and immediately began troubleshooting the problem (before I could even get my belongings out of their way too! LOL!). Here's how the problem was resolved, in case it's helpful to anyone: 2020 Mazda CX-9 Touring - They tried holding the trunk door open/close button down for 7 secs to reset it, but that did nothing. The physical latch was not stuck in a closed position, so manually trying to move the latch mechanism on the door itself, did nothing either. They finally found a blown latchdoor fuse and replaced it. This still didn't fix it. Then they decided to disconnect my battery, wait a minute or two, then reconnect. The trunk door then finally latched closed! But, it wouldn't open or unlock, or respond to the open/close buttons. They once again disconnected the battery and reconnected after a few mins, and THIS finally fixed it, working good as new. I've 100% found my new mechanic from here on out! I'm ecstatic 🎉🪅🎊🥳

We had a tire issue and by chance happened to be right next to the shop - the guys came right out and with no hesitation started to work on the issue. This was our first experience with Griffis but we’ll definitely be back for service or repairs. Tim in the office was a cool guy too.

The team at Griffis Auto Are always extremely pleasant, extremely kind, extremely wonderful. They have very fair prices and they do a beautiful job. I like how they offer you any bit of work that could be done to the car, but there’s no forcefulness in what they’re offering! Send pictures of everything so you know they’re not trying anything sketchy, as a young woman this is hard to find. Very honest people. Tim and Teresa are who I spoke with the most and they were absolutely lovely. Just wanted to leave a nice review for anybody wondering if they’re a good spot to use. Also, they’re so kind that if you bring your car over, they’ll give you a ride home while you wait for it to get all fixed up.

Best experience ever getting my car fixed. I've had several trips in my car and I still can't believe how smooth it runs. I didn't go to other shops to get quotes because I wanted my car fixed asap and this place was recommended by a friend, but I'm sure with the amount of work that was done and the car staying at the shop for three days, I must have paid a fraction of the dealer or chain shop price. Also the service and communication is first class. At every other place is quantity over quality. They'll fix your problem (and a lot of times do a terrible job at it) and move to the next customer, but at Griffis they'll take the time your car deserves and inspect it head to toe. Their communication was also very clear. They told me what to prioritize and what can be done little by little. They also go above and beyond to make good impressions and create relationships. They sent me a thank you card through the mail and called me a week after to ask how the car was doing. I cannot recommend Griffis highly enough, especially now with how high car prices are, you need a mechanic you can truly trust.

Recently took my 1998 Jeep Cherokee in for a wheel stud placement. Not only do they offer quality service, but the hospitality there of making you feel comfortable, the thoroughness of inspecting and properly doing a job with no short cuts, they actually LISTEN to what you have to say and not think “here’s another idiot who doesn’t know about cars.” Lol. I will be bringing back my business to Griffis. Tim, Matt and I unfortunately forgot the lady’s name who sits at the desk…but they were awesome. Thank you guys for a great experience. Have come for just about anything from installing aftermarket suspension parts and wheels, to replacing belts and fluids, they always knock it out. Tim even made the time to go on a ride along to diagnose an abnormal noise 20 minutes before they closed.

The check engine light came on in my work truck right around the time the ac went out. I needed to keep it off the road for a short a time as possible and work with a well respected local shop. They quoted me diagnostic price over the phone and gave me a clear sense of their availability. I dropped it off Monday late afternoon and had a call by noon Tuesday with a clear explanation of what was going on. Given the age of my truck they let me know what was recommended to take care of beyond the my immediate concerns. Nobody was pushy and they worked with me to prioritize what I needed to deal with right now and what I needed to space out. For the volume of work done I think it was a fair value for the expertise. I will happily use Griffis automotive again.

My taillight bulb was shot, needed assistance getting the screws out for taillight, they were bolted shut. Called Griffis, spoke with Teresa and asked her how much would cost to have the bulb replaced, she said “we usually don’t charge for things like that, come on in and we’ll take a look!” Came in and spoke with Tim, he took a look at it, replaced my bulb with the new bulb I purchased within 5 mins, no cost. Trust me I wanted to compensate him for his time but he refused, told him I’d pay for it with a review instead. If you are thinking about calling them for a quote/availability, DO IT!! Tim is an honest man. I purchased a new battery from him and within a year it was dead he not only replaced it with a new one but he upgraded it for no charge. He was great to work with and I highly recommend him.
