I’m not even joking when I say that Jim and Groovy Automotive saved Christmas. I will never go to another place. They literally saved me $2000. I started getting a wild noise in my car so brought it to another mechanic closer to my house because I was nervous driving it. When he quoted me over 2k I called Jim. He gave me an honest quote but suggested bringing it in and I’m glad I did. The original mechanic I brought it to was completely WRONG and misdiagnosed the issue. Jim and Groovy Automotive found out it was a completely different issue and only cost $400. Had I not called I would have ended up spending the 2k and then another $400 to fix the issue. I almost got screwed but Groovy Auto and Jim saved the day and in turn saved the holidays for me. I will be referring every single person to this place and will be back as I know I need more work done . Support local my friends and always come to Groovy. Otherwise you could end up ruining your holidays.

Groovy Auto is a fantastic business. The mechanics have kept my vehicle in shape for years, and they have made repairs free of charge when they feel it is needed. The team is very honest and provides a great service. Highly recommend.

Groovy Automotive is the type of local, honest shop you wish still existed in every city & town! Jim was so courteous over the phone and in person, as well as being very knowledgable and helpful with all of my questions. The free shuttle service was so appreciated and the pricing was very reasonable, especially for the quality of service. I feel very confident driving on my long distance road trip now- Thanks Groovy Automotive :)

These guys are awesome, Mark squeezed me into the schedule same day for a transmission fluid change on my Mini Cooper S. James drove me home while they worked and was a pleasure to chat with. They got everything done so quick, had great communication, and know their stuff!

What a wonderful experience! I brought my car to Service Advisor Mark P. this morning, (my battery warning light was on) and they figured out in less than an hour what was wrong and fixed it. I was back behind the wheel in no time. Thanks, Groovy Automotive! Y’all rock!!!!!

Awesome service, awesome people! I walked in and the people behind the counter were super nice and attentive! Even when I called them over the phone they were very friendly every time. Pricing was good, and they got me in and out faster than I expected. 10/10 would recommend!

First off we go to groovy for our fleet vehicles and this is the first time i have taken my vehicle there. I have had nothing but 5star service with fleet vehicles. i took my personal vehicle because i was told somewhere previsouly i needed brakes and rotors let me tell you i was already in a headspace where i was going to spend a pretty penny. yet when i went to drop off my vehicle Mark told me they would look at it and tell me honestly what i would need. alot of other places i would have been like yeah right honest but i know groovy and i was like well if they tell me its what i need then ill do it. Mark called me later in the day and said Chris your brakes pads and rotors are still good i dont know who told you that they were bad but they arent. i was so happy because now ill be saving all that money i had already mentally spent fixing my car!! thank you Mark and groovy for always acting with integrity and i truly will always bring my vehiles to you for all maintenance. i truly appreciate you all thanks again mark!

I own a 50 year old classic car. It requires a lot of patience , lol. I’m so glad I bought it to Groovy. Fixing it is more art than science, and there are always a few bumps along the way. The end result was terrific, mostly because of Jim. He is a real pro……and an incredibly honest and generous The customer always comes first. A true stand up guy.

This shop is amazing, they are fair in pricing, clear in procedures and all around nice folks. Jim is A+ customer service! I go to Groovy lube for oil changes and now I have a new favorite shop for repairs! Thanks again!

Best service of any mechanic I’ve been to. I frequently bring my two cars here and both Jim and Mark always take incredible care of me and my cars. Fast, reliable, and they never try to swindle. Always honest and friendly.

I highly recommend Groovy Automotive..! Took my Acura RDX there and my Infiniti M35X for engine and transmission issues. The owner Jim is very honest and his crew does great work for a fair price.. love this place.!

I’ve been coming here since I moved to austin 3 years ago and won’t go anywhere else. Jim the owner is so kind and all the workers have been nothing but honest, fair with pricing, responsive about concerns and does a great job with repairs. They have fixed my car in multiple major issues, tire changes and more. My whole family goes here and I always recommend groovy to anyone who needs car repairs. Dedicated customer 100%. You guys rock.

One of the shadier places to get work done. They miss glaring issues and charge for stuff you dont need done. Pretty sure a couple of their guys are tweakers. Stay FARRR away!!! Response to owner: I brought my car in because of an overheating issue... this is what I'm talking about. I said to prioritize the overheating issue. Your shop installed a non-essential $15 radiator fan relay that i already knew was missing without asking and charged me $90 for it. Just snuck it in the bill. Lo and behold, the car kept overheating because that wasnt the true issue, just a way for the shop to make easy money.

Driving in from Humble, TX my brakes failed to a point that I was not comfortable driving the car. Called Groovy early in the morning and told them my problem. They told me if I could get it in soon, they could probably get it out the same day. I got it towed. When I got to their shop I was greeted by the friendly staff. Long story short they diagnosed the problem, which was different than I thought, got it fixed and I was back on the road by 2P. I highly recommend Groovy for being competent, friendly and fairly priced.

The guys on 41st Street have treated me very fairly in my last few visits. In two cases, it turned out that a very simple fix got my vehicles back on the road. They didn't charge me for their trouble. "Pay us when you have some substantial work for us to do. We're happy we have your business." I have no reason to even think about going anywhere else.
