Chris has been doing our vehicles for a few years now. Someone recommended him as a private and honest mechanic, and we were so lucky to find him. He works hard to determine the problem, then resolves it with the necessary labor and parts, doesn't just guess and waste your money. He is sincere, reasonably priced, and truly dedicated to a superior outcome for you.

No one wants to spend a bunch of money on fixing cars, but I think Chris made this as good of an experience it could be. Definitely recommend. Haven't had the need for a mechanic's services is several years, and I have a long history of iffy outcomes with various shops around town, so I researched quite skeptically. Found Hardy Mechanics from reviews after quite a bit of research. While some folks might understandably have some hesitancy with an smaller, independent shop, I found that with auto repair in particualr, the bigger shops aren't any better of a bet (in terms of fair price, honesty, etc.), and I'm glad I tried Chris' shop out. I put an inquiry in via the website on my badly-neglected 2012 Highlander that sounded like it was gonna loose wheel pretty soon... Chris responded the same day, and we lined up a time to drop off my vehicle a couple days later for him to work it in. Chris is friendly, easy-going and communicates well with those of us who a bit ignorant in mechnical matters. He was flexible in working with my logistical challenges (happen to have some travel planned that week). While the car has a litany of nominal "needs", he diagnosed, triaged, and was open about deferring the things that could be deferred (vs. racking up as many services as possible like he arguably should in the business' own interest). Addressing the most immediate concerns (brakes, suspension (strut assemblies, broken control arm)), Chris turned the repair around in a couple days, and the car has been running smoothly since I picked up (day & night compared to the grinding, scary-falling-apart-sensation condition that I brought him). Definitely very happy with the work and the interaction. Might have found one of the rare things in life - a trustworthy mechanic. Note: There is another shop run by another Chris (Chris' Auto Repair) just about 100 feet away - also seems like quite a nice guy. I had a little mix-up (made a bad assumption based on a sign other Chris had out). Hardy's is in front in the Red Car Network lot.

He's an excellent mechanic, easy to explain problems to, and will help you make decisions and work within your budget. I was referred to Chris by a friend and have done the same with friends and family. I own a 1999 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer and Chris is the reason I'm still driving the car I love. If you need a reliable and cost effective mechanic - he's your guy.

I have been bringing my car to Chris for several years now even after moving to California. I would rather drive to Phx to have him fix my Lexus than go to the dealer. Very friendly and helpful. I needed a pre-purchase car inspection and I called him at the last minute when I finally got access to the vehicle. He fit me in and it turned out to be a lifesaver. He saved me from a bad purchase. Would definitely use him again.
