Negligent Safety Warning I brought the car in to address a distinct click every time I tapped the brakes, also a rattle when going over bumps. The supposed ‘Check front and rear brakes’ inspection did not find the missing bolt which holds the front brake caliper onto the steering knuckle - the entire caliper disconnected a few days after I got the car out of the shop - having had shocks and all adjacent parts replaced for $2500. To be clear, the missing bolt is physically in the middle of the work area, 3 inches long with a 3/4 inch bolt head- it’s big, and only 2 bolts hold the caliper mount, very obviously flopping around and causing the rattle and clicking. Again: the many hours of labor in the exact vicinity resulted in zero fix - instead they replaced existing top of the line Bilstein shocks with less than 15k miles. No change in the click and rattle, just reduced quality shocks. More importantly, lives were endangered as the caliper disconnected and locked the wheel while the car was in motion two days after getting the it out of the shop. When the caliper wedged into the wheel, preventing the car from moving, I removed the tire and could see the extremely obvious absence of the mounting bolt. I replaced it myself with a $10 Napa bolt in less than 30 minutes, and of course the rattle and click stopped completely. Impossible to not see as soon as soon as the tire was removed. Car is now safe, $10 actual fix after $2500 to replace Bilstein high performance shocks with lower quality parts. I pray no additional issues have been created when the big picture is considered here. This shop is obviously not recommended; whether it’s about cost, quality, or most importantly, safety.

Brought in my mini because the dealership told me I needed to fix my engine mount. Quoted me way less than the dealership and everything was fixed smoothly. If my car has more issues I will definitely be coming back.

Do not go here if you have a Mercedes! My car would not start. It was towed here as I suspected a fuel issue. They diagnosed a new battery was needed. On the WAY HOME the car shut down in the middle of the road. It could not be started new battery and all. Second tow. A lower tank fuel pump was replaced. 3/4 of the way home the car was perceptably lurching and lugging. I brought it back today. I was told they could not remedy this issue (nearly $1500 later). Their mechanics clearly do not know how smoothly this ML 350 drove before ending up at their shop!!!

Had Hill Country Autoworks work on my daughter’s VW Jetta and we couldn't be more happier with the results. It was our first time using them.Not only did we not have to go to a dealer but there were able to repair our vehicle and save money at the same time. Great communication. I had a very complex problem with my Mercedes. Justin and everyone at the shop went above and beyond helping me get the car back on the road. You can't go wrong with HCEA. Honest, reliable, dependable, and extremely tech savvy. The car is back on the road and is absolutely perfect. I cannot recommend them enough. 10 stars!

HCE is fantastic. I needed a clutch and flywheel replacement on my Porsche 718. The Porsche dealership quoted over $8K. HCE cut the price by almost half (with a military discount). They use genuine OEM Porsche parts and they keep vehicles that are being serviced indoors from drop off to return. Call around to other European focused shops in the area if you want to, but HCE provides phenomenal service, they use genuine parts, and the staff has great previous experience working directly for the vehicle brands they service. I HIGHLY recommend HCE. I will also call out the fact that I RARELY write reviews…that is how pleased I am at this point!

Brought vehicle in for a repair recommended by dealership. Scheduled Hill Country Autoworks to do the repair. They told me that repair is not needed as it was normal wear. They checked over the vehicle for any other items and found none. Even though I scheduled with them and took their valuable time, they did not charge me anything. They will be getting all my future work including oil changes.
