They are honest, fair and do good work. They respect that their customers are on budgets. While their price for an oil change may not beat their competition - you know that they won't be hitting you up for a major brake job, or muffler, or any of the other expensive jobs that get foisted upon you when you go for the discount oil change (unless you really do need to get it done). I know this because I have gone in for an oil change and told them to check for anything else that might need to be done, and they have come back and told me that everything else was just fine. They have done the same to me when I have gone for an inspection - just fixed the few minor things that I really needed. They also do their best to fit my schedule and needs. I cannot say enough complimentary things about this place and the folks that work here. I JUST LOOKED AT THIS REVIEW FROM 6 YEARS AGO - AND I STILL FEEL THE SAME WAY - THEY ARE HONEST AND RELIABLE.

Took my car for a brake inspection. Got the issue checked out same day and didn’t charge me a dollar. The staff are also very friendly. One of the better shops in the city.

I took my car here for the first time ever and I’ve been going to Pitt since 2021. I needed an inspection on my Hyundai, plus my front left tire needed patching. I dropped my car off at 9am and got it back around 4pm. There was a 93 bus stop there so it was easy to get back to Oakland and to Homer’s. In one of the reviews I read it said to not expect a concierge service and that this is Greenfield haha. I second this, because after I paid they told me my car was in the Giant Eagle parking lot across the street lol. Not a big deal, I thought that was funny though. Also I appreciated that they topped off my fluids without even having to ask. They are definitely focused on customer loyalty and satisfaction which I really like. I highly recommend this place to people who know nothing about cars, or can’t do it themselves. I will remember this place for future oil changes and other maintenance!

Great service. Affordable. Trusted. All the things you want to hear about your mechanic. I’ve been going here for over 5 years for state inspections, minor maintenance and even a major issue. They took care of me every time, even went I shopped around for prices at other places. Highly recommend.

Once again I have peace of mind. I have gone to Homer's for years. They only repair and maintain what is needed. The prices are the best around and the owner and all of the employees are extremely helpful and friendly. There is Homer's....and then there are others.. Steve Slesinger

Did a great job getting a key that was stuck in the tumbler of my car door! Went in for my first state inspection and they were very patient with me which I appreciate. They are also great on the phone!

I've been to Homer's twice. They offer great, no frills, no nonsense service, reasonable & straightforward pricing, helpful, and quick. I don't worry about being upsold or taken advantage of. They do honest work.

Great service and price. A friend recommended Homer's and I wish I came here sooner. I had to get new brakes and rotor installed. Even found out that I had to get a new caliper. The price was super reasonable and the car was repaired timely. Thank you so much!

I have been patronizing Homer's service center for over 20 years. I tell friends that this is the most honest service center that I've ever experienced, with personable staff and quality repairs. Unlike some of the mega chain repair shops or dealerships, the folks at Homer's care for their customers and provide excellent service at a reasonable price. No one here is going to try to convince you to pay hundreds of dollars because an obscure widget on your vehicle should be replaced.

I can't say enough good about this place. Always knowledgeable and friendly, and don't try to talk you into things you don't need. (The opposite, sometimes!) I just live up the street, but if I ever move, I'll bring my car here regardless.

I went on the recommendation of a coworker who told me that they are the best. I have been getting water [and mold] in my car and they looked at it, cleaned out the AC system, and charged me nothing. Zilch. Nada. I look forward to being a regular customer!

I can't sing their praises enough. Years ago, while going to work, my driver's side window wouldn't roll back up. I went to Homer's because I had heard such good things about their character and their work. A wonderful man looked at it, was able to roll it back up, and sent me on my way without charging me a cent. Fast forward to today, I thought I needed brakes because my brake light kept coming on. I went to Homer's. They put my car up on the rack, checked out my brakes, and was told my brake fluid was low, my brakes were fine. They filled my fluids, put air in my tires, and again, did not charge me a cent. This has to be the most honest shop that I have ever encountered, especially in a time when everyone is more concerned about making another dollar, no matter how they do it. They are always busy, which speaks for the quality of their work. Everyone is so nice. Again, I can't sing their praises enough!

I brought a car on for service. I said the car was knocking, and sometimes not starting, and that I thought it was the fuel pump. They returned the car to me and said it was a loose connection on the battery terminal. Six weeks later, my car completely refused to start and left me stranded with my daughter trying to leave dance class. After a tow to a proper garage, I learned that the fuel pump was putting out 15psi of pressure vs the expected 60psi. Do not waste your time or money with these guys. I suspect the car started when they tried it, so they dismissed my concerns outright and decided it wasn't worth it to do any diagnostics testing. It is scary to think that I placed any trust with these guys.

I had car trouble on my way to work to State College. I was about to get on to the interstate when my car started shaking when I’m in a complete stop or slowing down. I put in my GPS the nearest mechanic, and it directed me to Homer’s Service Center. They are very helpful and efficient. They had my car up and running in no time. We just recently moved to Pittsburgh and I tell you what, I found my mechanic guys for sure.

I usually come here and have a good experience, but the last two times I have been overcharged for nothing. I had a noise that I was told would be looked at for free. Upon picking up my car I was told there was a loose cap, and charged $38 for a $12 part. This time I get an oil change and am charged $12 for 1 gallon of gas ($62 untaxed for a simple oil change🤯)? I picked up my car and the gas level is less than when I dropped it off. I didn’t ask for any gas, nor was it needed considering i’m over half a tank still. Its disappointing because this was a family referral, and my grandfather is a mechanic, so I can tell when cheap buffers are on a bill. I usually don’t get anything done in pittsburgh unless it’s by Homer’s, but as a college student on a budget it looks like I’ll be avoiding Pittsburgh mechanics altogether from now on. Amazing work, but unnecessarily expensive in a way that feels like you’re being taken advantage of.
