I've enjoyed the great good fortune of being a customer of Howard Auto Service's for over four years and counting. Allow me to offer the following anecdote: Earlier this month, my nearly 16-year-old car's driver side quarter panel and I had a most unfortunate encounter with a utility pole's protective - and protruding - metal plating which, due to its placement at car level, I was unable to see while driving by. By the by, the rear bumper also split in two along a preexisting fissure as a result. Brilliant. Upon surveying the damage Carlos, the shop's highly capable lead mechanic and manager, proposed and subsequently effected a quick and cost-effective solution to restore my jalopy's roadworthiness and enable me to continue to enjoy the privilege of its ownership and use for (hopefully) at least the next couple of years. Well, gentlemen, thanks (yet) again. See you in June - hopefully, not sooner...

The guys at this shop are honest. I have a 05 MINI COOPER that has had its share of repairs. My first time here I needed a fuel pump replacement; these guys not only fixed my issue but also repaired a bit of my exhaust that was starting to wear out. Last week my car stalled while driving.In no time these guys had her up and running!

We got a flat tire at 9am. We got the car back by 5pm the same day with a new tire AND head lights replaced. 5 stars.

Howard Auto came through, went for a break job & found that i needed a fuel pump. The car died out a couple times & they got it fixed. This was my first time here & I had read the reviews & it didn’t disappoint. Thanks to Michael & Carlos

I can’t say enough good things about this shop. So helpful. Personable. I mistakenly blocked Carlos from my phone and we were able to laugh about it the next day. It’s the little things that matter, and Carlos went above and beyond to fix the issue with my vehicle and to abate my anxiety. This isn’t my first time here, and they’ve never disappointed. It’s difficult to find a trustworthy and reliable auto shop with fair prices these days. I won’t be going anywhere else. Thanks for all your help, Carlos.

Carlos and his team of mechanics/engineers are brilliant! They are caring, professional, trustworthy and efficient. I had concerns about my vehicle, so I brought it into the shop based on a referral that I received from another mechanic in the area. My concern was address with the highest customer service. Carlos, I truly appreciate you and your team. Thank you all sooo much!!!!

I get my oil changes here. The price is good and service great. Have gone to get my car checked for some issues and had a good experience as well.

They inspected my car and helped remove the plates in preparation for a tow. I would use them again and highly recommend giving them a call if you need your vehicle serviced.

I’m in town from Colorado, and as I was heading back to my Evanston Airbnb from Milwaukee last night, I was pulled over because my taillights were out. My Airbnb host said to bring my car to Howard Auto, as they’ve been customers for years, and they were able to fit me in today! I’m so appreciative of that as I can safely get back on the road.

My car got issue, I was afraid I won't make it even home. Stopped at this auto repair shop 5 mins before they would close. They literally saved me. The guy stayed beyond his hours and made sure I can travel safe. Really good people there, would definitely recommend!

Waited in the office for about twenty minutes, nobody came out to see what I needed. No one was answering the phones. I have about $1500 in repairs and tune ups to take care of and these guys came recommended. When someone finally did come out, he just said they’re very busy and couldn’t do anything on any other cars. Didn’t even ask what I needed. Guess I’ll give my money to a shop who actually cares?

Been taking ole Betsy to Howard Auto Service for 9 years now. I don’t believe in having a car payment, so I’m in a ten year old Mercury Sable. Yeah, it nickel and dimes me at times, but I’m retired at 55, and that comes from a life of not using credit cards or having car payments. The guys at Howard Auto are awesome. The mgr is a guy named Carlos, and he really truly goes out of his way to be helpful and straight up. I give Howard Auto Service 5 stars, but I give the manager, Carlos, 10 stars. He’s what customer service is all about.

I wanted to wait to see how my rode/drove before jumping in with an opinion. But car riding well although all I had done was an oil change, air filters & belt. Not a bad price. The warranty has expired on my car and this is my backup place. The dealership can cut into your bank account! But anyway, I used them with my last car. The guy that provided me service in the past is no longer there, and there's a new owner (son). However, I received the same customer service as if he known me for awhile. Will be using them again.

The people at Howard Auto Service are awesome. I brought my car into their shop numerous times and Carlos has always been able to help. Even if they are busy, Carlos will get back to me when he can and give me an honest quote for whatever I needed done. I won't go anywhere else.

We’ve been taking our cars here for years and never once had a problem. They are fair, straightforward, and will do anything in their power to get you back on the road. Carlos is the hardest working and most personable mechanic you’re likely to meet. Can’t say enough good things about this place.
