I guess the business must have closed permanently. Not even a sign up. They were great when they were in business.

On month 5 and still my truck sits with no motor. He told me a couple weeks and like others has forgot who I am and even if I left a truck with him. I'm stuck with no way out since my motor is scattered across his shop. RUN AWAY from this place and don't look back

This shop is on a race to the bottom! I read the reviews and relied on a recommendation from folks at my office as well as a couple jet boat guys to take my 2013 Ram 1500 in to have the 5.7 Hemi overhauled. All the warning signs were present when I first walked in including the tightening of my stomach that usually indicates trouble is ahead. You’re met by piles of engine parts as well as a counter with mounds of paperwork and assorted debris. Above your head are several years’ BBB plaques which I later researched; Janke Engines is not a member for 2021 for good reason. Jerry Janke and I settled on a cash price (paid in full before work started) of $3,500 for a turnkey rebuild and a promised duration of 2 weeks. After mid-way thru week 3 I called for a status update and was told week 4 would be the week. Extremely frustrated and knowing what the response would be I stopped by the shop on week 4 for an inspection to find that Jerry did not recall me or my vehicle or our conversation from week 3(no surprise). The next 20 minutes we spent on a fact-finding exercise that included locating my truck, reporting to Jerry if the motor was even removed or not, locating the torn down short block that I have no way of knowing if it’s even mine and finally closing with Jerry demanding I call him on Monday and remind him he promised me the truck would be ready on week 5. In a fit of quiet rage, I left the shop to return (in person) on Monday to remind him. He confirmed on Monday it would be completed in week 5. Upon leaving his shop, I completed a quick walkaround of the truck body to which I identified the rear passenger side bumper had been caved in during movement at his shop. I took a video of the entire exterior, engine compartment and interior of the truck the evening before I took it to his shop and provided dated “before” and “after” pictures of the damage his shop had caused to which his response was, “I don’t see how we caused the damage”. Another low for him and his shop. Week 5 came and went with inspections three days/week and little movement on the engine. Truck was completed at the beginning of week 7 and after inspection was 1-1/2 quarts low on oil. I truly believe that Mr. Janke and his shop was once a suitable place to get a motor rebuilt. I have spoken with several people that both referred me as well as shared their positive feedback of their experience, but I also believe that the way he currently runs the shop is not based on customer service in any form or fashion rather how much money he can get in his pocket. If you have the time and energy to babysit Mr. Janke’s lack of daily in person, and the intestinal fortitude to put up with someone who could genuinely care less when you get your car back (6-8 weeks was the average) as long as he has your money, you’ve come to the right place. Time will tell if the motor he finally installed will counter the nightmare experience I had at his shop, but I hope you at least consider my experience before you spend your time, energy and most importantly your money with this guy.

DO NOT GO HERE! My husband is a mechanic and his company worked with Janke at times. We had to get a motor rebuilt and were quoted $800. When we picked it up, he said $1500! There was nothing extra he did to it. We ended up settling for $1000. However, when my husband put the new motor in, the timing belt was not set correctly. This caused more damage to the motor. We were on a time crunch so we got it fixed by someone else. When we called the owner to let him know what happened, he avoided us. My husband called several times and finally when he got an answer, the owner stated he "didn't have time for this" and hung up. We had to spend $400 to get it fixed. This is not how a business should be run. STAY AWAY

Did work my truck motor still can't get it going 7 months later

We had to wait a long time for our truck engine to get replaced. Approximately 2 months, truck leaked oil and after taking it back the problem continued. Two years later i started changing my own oil and noticed the oil pan leaking. The oil pan was welded on and not changed. The warped seal area was the source of the leak.

We purchased a 2012 Camaro ss with some mods from a local dealership (used) and had problems with the car from day one. They kept giving us the run around till the "so called" warranty was up and then we were on our own. They then told us the car needed the engine rebuilt, in which they would pay half of (after some argument with us) so 7600.00 it cost and car only ran through the brake in period. and again no warranty on anything they did. Took it to Janke and he did a rebuild on the car. Runs and performs amazingly! Janke didn't rip us off and he was fair and honest. He even does the oil changes on the car now. We will not let anyone else touch the car unless recommended by Janke.. Couldn't be more pleased. Warning****do expect to wait, he has a long line of work. it is well worth the wait.
