Joe is an absolute lifesaver. I have been out of the country for quite some time and silly me didn't check my brakes before heading out on a cross-state national park roadtrip. Midway towards Yosemite my brakes start making strange noises. Thank God my brakes acted up when they did, because it ultimately led me to JB auto mechanic. Joe went above and beyond to arrange new brake pads for me at 8PM. I was mentally prepapring myself to have to find an inn nearby, since I wasn't even sure if there would be stores open to get the brakepads. Joe managed to acquire them and got to work on them right away. I learnt a lot whilst watching Joe work on my car, he has a way with his words that allow someone with no real knowledge of car maintenance understand what he's doing every step of the way. I feel so blessed to have come by Joe when I did, because if not I have no clue what I would've done 😅.

I'm impressed by Joe's honesty in pointing out issues that require attention, without attempting to sell me unnecessary work. Furthermore, I appreciate his recommendations for alternative solutions that prioritize my vehicle's well-being rather than his profit margins. Came here after on a Wednesday after 5pm because more than one light was on my dash. Joe made me feel super comfortable from the jump. Especially being a girl, anything have to do with mechanical work can be intimating but Joe is a nice honest man who can work with you. He is very knowledgeable and will go into detail of what he’s doing and why. I would 1000% recommend him and will be back if I ever need a mechanic. Thank you Joe! ☺️

Awesome mechanic in Bakersfield. He was the only one I could find who would check out my car after I got stranded on the highway on a Friday after 5:00. He was thorough, knowledgeable, and fair. Good price and capable. I highly recommend this shop.

Joe was unlike any mechanic we've ever had. We were in the process of moving/towing a uhaul long distance and had the Check Engine Light come on. Joe was easy to coordinate with, quick to squeeze us in that evening, and was profoundly honest. His gift for explaining things and his wealth of knowledge on mechanical issues enabled him to efficiently diagnose our problems, differentiate between the urgent fixes and the frivolous ones, and prepare us to identify any future danger signs. He's a natural teacher and an all around great mechanic. We wish we had someone like him where we are moving!

Drove down from Tehachapi. Best and only shop I'd go to! Joe surprised me, had electrical issues with my Mazda Miata, came in to diagnose the car, he had finished the job same day. This dude is top G. Fast, reliable, and trust worthy guy. Very affordable compared to other shops!

JB really saved us on our recent road trip when we found ourselves needing a new alternator while on a tight timeline. He completed high quality work, had excellent communication, and truly cared about providing an important service. If I ever need auto work in Bakersfield again, I'll be going back to JB, no question.

F250 broke down driving north towards Bakersfield on a Saturday evening. Called a few places without luck then Joe picked up and quickly diagnosed the potential problem over the phone. He opened his shop back up, solved the issue and had me on my way in a matter of hours. Super nice guy and fair prices, 10/10 would recommend.

Jose was a lifesaver. I ran into wheel issues on the road, and he took my car in Sunday evening and had it done Monday morning. The same work Pep Boys quoted me nearly double the price for and they would’ve taken three days to do. Go to JB Auto instead

I was passing through town and my truck started giving me issues with the transmission wasn’t sure what it was. Even though my tow truck showed up slow and took a while, he still took me in late and told me what was wrong with it the morning following that, and I am back on the road with my family safely, thank you a lot I really appreciate you!

José is incredibly reliable, knowledgeable, resourceful and kind. Please go to him if you need any repairs. Do not hesitate. Our car broke down in the middle of the highway in the angel’s national forest on our way up north. Our insurance couldn’t secure us any towing at all, and out of despair we started making calls on Google auto repair shops and that’s when we found José. He helped us find a tow, Daniel, who was also incredibly nice, reliable and helpful. He towed us to José’s repair shop, where he very quickly figured out the car’s issues and fixed them on the spot. We’re ready to keep on our journey up north very fast. We’re very very grateful to José, and his wife who was there at the time and made us feel heartwarming in the middle of the night where we felt so hopeless in the hours before that. My car started having problems over the weekend a couple of weeks ago, which didn’t leave me with many shop options other than big chain mechanics that I didn’t wanna bother with. I came across this one online and decided to contact the owner after seeing all the reviews. He went out of his way to open up the gates and let me drop off my car on a Sunday and agreed to work on it first thing the following day. My car was restored to tip-top shape and I was back on the road that afternoon. The owner was very informative and helpful, just an all-around honest guy looking out for his customers. Reasonable pricing as well. I’ll definitely be returning in the future! :)

He was amazing. We had an emergency in the route and we’re not from the area. He help us at a late hour and seas always walks us trough out the problem with the car. Latin also supports. Really good person and the best place to fix your car.

He was extremely knowledgeable and professional. My vehicle needed several key repairs and all of the parts were sourced at a very reasonable rate. If I had taken it to the dealer it easily would have cost me 2.5K or more, but the total bill ended up being 1.2K - considering there were multiple repairs in the engine, air/oil filters, oil change (also just under market rate), and more - I feel this was more than reasonable. My vehicle runs like new again!

Joe is the nicest, most trustworthy, and knowledgeable mechanic I have ever had the pleasure of working with! My truck began to have engine troubles, which resulted in needing a tow from a remote area. I called JB Auto and gave them an ETA, and Joe stayed late until we arrived (on a Friday, no less), ran the codes on the truck, and even GAVE US A RIDE TO OUR HOTEL. On Saturday morning, he called and informed me that the repair might have been a bit more intensive than initially thought, but that it could be done later in the day. After a few hours we got another call from Joe asking where we were... he proceeded to drive up in my truck and pick us up!! Once we were in the truck, he told us that the repair he did was actually much less intensive after some troubleshooting and saved us $400 AND got us on the road less than 24 hours later. There aren't enough stars to rate this man's incredible kindness, professionalism, and know-how! I wish I lived closer by so I could bring my truck to JB Auto every time 😁

Joe the owner, skillfully diagnosed our trucks acceleration hesitation that had resulted in a check engine light coming on. He checked and replaced a engine coil on one of our spark plugs and got us quickly back on the road. He was very personable, articulate, and very generous with his time to fit us in out of the blue on a Saturday afternoon. His rate was fair, service was excellent. As Canadians pulling a trailer through a unknown city we were treated like friends by Joe and his crew. Cannot recommend him enough!!

Joe was incredibly kind and friendly, very very very knowledgeable about the entire situation, knew how to explain every little thing in a way that even someone who isn't great with cars can understand, furthermore he explained everything and why it has to be done and how much it costs to express even more that he is just a good honest guy and not trying to scam or rip you off like so many other people. if I could give a 10/5 rating I would, absolutely would recommend for any car issues you have, and I'd absolutely refer anyone I know to him, 100% deserves nothing but 5 stars. thanks joe! - Cheyenne

Joe was the absolute best! Our car broke down in Bakersfield on our way from Sacramento to LA, and he was able to see us ASAP! He diagnosed the car quickly and encouraged us to check if the engine had a recall/warranty. He even called the dealership for us and sure enough! We were able to get through with him quickly before taking our car to the dealership in the area! Thank you Joe for being a lifesaver.

This place is amazing. My car broke down on I-5 while driving from SoCal to the Bay Area, and it would have been a nightmare if it hadn't been for Joe's professionalism and kindness. Joe looked at the car on a Sunday when the shop was technically closed, told me clearly what was wrong and why it was the dealership that had recently serviced my car's fault, and helped me work with the dealership to make them cover the costs of the repair and the inconvenience to me. In addition to being an incredibly knowledgeable and communicative mechanic, Joe is a really good person who is committed to doing right by people. He really went above and beyond. His wife even drove me to a hotel! If I lived in Bakersfield, I would always take my car to JB Auto Mechanic. It's really refreshing to know that there are such good people out there.
