$8000 and they tried to kidnap my car. Then after I got it all sorted out, and we were clear, the grey haired old man tried assaulting me. HAHAHA.... Stay away! Since the man who built the business walked away... it went to shitte! I mean really! They had my rod for almost 3 years and $8000 later I had to pull an "extraction-mission"? I am so glad to be done with them. They literally charged me to rebuild a carb twice ... $125 each time... then when I see my car they scabbed my "rebuilt" carb for another car. Then they tried to charge me to rebuild the carb!!! WTF? I seem to be missing a pair of Lokar dipsticks also $160, Oh yeah, the exact same ones on Jim's traditional he built before he left. Save your time and money and to "Flash Auto", they are BBB and AAA certified also ASE. I see the ASE patch in this shop... no certs on the fifthly shop walls... WONDER?

I really wanted to like these guys. Actually, I still like the guys themselves--they're fun and cool. Unfortunately, that's about the extent of it for me. **I'm going to start with a precursor that my car is foreign, so maybe these guys are better with American cars, but I can only speak from my experience** So basically my clutch slave cylinder went out--a job that I've done before I might add--but I didn't have time to fix it as I was in the middle of gearing up for finals. I drive past these guys all the time, so I called them up, and they said they could get the part in and get it all fixed in 2 days. 5 days later they tell me that my master needs to be replaced. I told them I don't think that's the case, but whatever, just fix it. 2 weeks later I drive over there to tell them that I need my car for a trip, and they need to get this thing wrapped up. Turns out replacing the master didn't fix the problem and they were now installing a slave, like I had said from day 1. So finally, like 3 weeks after I dropped the car off, they finished up. I ended up having to pay for both the slave and the master, and after complaining a bit they gave me ~$60 off from the ~$600 total, which was originally quoted at ~$350-400, pre-master cylinder stuff. However, this is only where the shenanigans begin! I fired it up, and immediately, something was off. Strange vibrations from the engine, and the clutch squealed and chattered significantly. I popped the hood and looked around. Turns out they hadn't fully seated the half-shaft, so I inserted that all the way, which fixed the vibrations, but the squealing was still pretty bad, so I pulled the bell-housing to find that the new throwout bearing was pretty significantly damaged during the install--Read: dented from a hammer. I went back over there yet again, bitched a bit, telling them I wasn't going to pay for a broken part and poor installation, and got $100 back. I decided just to cut my losses, cause I didn't want anyone who hits a bearing with a hammer, or even installs a dented bearing, working on my car. I drove the car around for a little bit that night, feeling out the chattering clutch, only to pull into my driveway and have hydraulic fluid spew all over the place... I have yet to figure out exactly what else went wrong, as I've been out of state (in a different car). But what I do know is that I gave these guys $450 to NOT fix my car--and potentially even damage it--while wasting more of my own time than it would've taken to just simply fix the original problem myself. Radical. If anyone from JCM Automotive happens to be reading this, I'll consider rewriting this review if you decide to do the right thing and refund all of my money, because I can guarantee you that this has been far more costly for me than for you.
