A little slick - Messaged about tires on FB marketplace for a 10YO honda. Garcia called the next morning, he had the tires, priced a little higher than online, but ok. He said the date code was good, said they had ok tread, I had asked for 80% tread and he said yes. I travel an hour to get there, was met immediately buy a young man who said he was Garcia, but he wasn't because he didn't remember our conversation or price. He took my car over, and it was attacked by three people, put on jacks, and the tires removed, Very efficiently! Then they roll a BF goodrich over with not allot of tread, and they say these are them. No, they're not the brand we said. Then they rolled a goodyear over, decent tread, but not what we said. It took a while to find what we agreed on, and the price went up from the agreement on the phone, not a whole lot, but enough when it's used tires. I had also not yet seen the person I talked to on the phone. And my car is up on jacks with no tires, so I'm at their mercy really. First tire, perfect. Great tread. Letters look good, date code good, only three years old. The next three lingered a bit - the next two came out kind of ok, but the tread was uneven and maybe even less than I came in on. I'm just a regular honda, so I don't wear uneven unless my stuff is out of alignment or I'm racing. I don't do that and I'm taken care of suspension wise. My concern was not validated when I expressed it, but still I'm not sure It was supposed to. I'm at their mercy here, we already agreed, sight unseen, and that good one came off the blocks looking really good. So, I don't know if it's a deal or not. I can't afford $1500 to $1800 new right now, but $450 to $500 used did sound good - for good tread, even wear, and good date codes, as we had texted and discussed, and as they're coming out of the bay, it was going downhill. So it's done, and my Honda has one really good used tire, with 10/32 and then three unevenly worn, 5/32 to 7/32 tires. I measured with a gauge. If we're talking the head of a penny, I can see Lincoln's head in various places, so these are barely legal in some places. They don't match, wear patterns wise, so they were not a set - they were from three sets, and the date codes on two at over 5 years old. The letters are worn off too, which is seriously hard to do - mine came in with nice looking consistent lettering. I should have asked to see them first, and that's on me. I trusted, and my Honda was already up on jacks by the time it was going down. The first one did look great, but that might be part of the slickness. Bring the good one out first to quell the expectation. Again, I don't know if this was a deal or not. They do a lot of business at one time, have a lot of staff, and it was actually impressive. I don't feel like it was worth the money I paid - I'm hard up right now, have been running on what I call flats, but based on this experience, mine weren't that bad. I don't think these tires will last 2 years. By my calculations, they will last upwards of 10k miles, high side. Maybe 1 year. Have you heard the story of the boots? This is that. Look it up. I personally would not have sold the three worn tires to anyone. They will probably sell my old ones to someone, because they are a set, bought new, for $1600. They have about 7/32 on them and that seems to be their sweet spot. I expected mostly new, or at least half new, because that was what we discussed. Not an uneven wearing pattern from three different sets. I would price that accordingly. I expected $400, half good, and I got half of that. They drove home ok, but I did have to go back twice for minor issues before I really went home. So watch it. I think they have a interesting thing going on here, and If I needed one tire, hard up, I would not hesitate. If you're wanting a set that matches, no. If hard up and need a tire or two to get by, and a decent price, maybe. For what I got, it should have been about $180 - $220. It was over $400. Take that for what it's worth.

Avoid JG Tires at All Costs – They Are Scammers! I had a terrible experience at JG Tires and feel obligated to warn others. This business is a scamming entity that preys on vulnerable customers, especially those who don’t speak Spanish. Here’s what happened: We initially agreed on a price of $40, but once they had my blown tire and I had no choice but to rely on them, they charged me $115 instead! I was in a tough spot and had no other options, so I had to pay. This is not just bad business practice – it’s exploitation. There are plenty of other tire shops in the area, so do yourself a favor and avoid this place entirely. They will scam you if given the chance. Don’t let them take advantage of you as they did me. Spread the word to protect others from being scammed here.

I found this business advertised on Facebook Marketplace. I called and spoke to Garcia the owner and he was extremely helpful and informative. He was polite and told me exactly what I needed to do. Once I arrived at the shop in Decatur I noticed how busy but thorough his staff were and they made sure to keep me informed about the issues with my vehicle. I was given a fair price and my repairs were completed in a timely manner. I will definitely be back and will refer others!! Garcia and Claudia, thank you very much!!!
