Was on my way to work and started having issues with my car. Had breakdown worrying that I may have blown a head gasket. Called JH and he insured me my car was ok to drive and to bring it by and they would take a look. Dillin the owners son came and took a look told me that it was a misfire and swapped out my ignition coil and boom the shaking car gone. Didn't charge outrageous rates, didn't upcharge for the part, didn't force replacing everything under the hood to fix the issue. Instead fixed the issue as effectively as possible in under 30 mins and got me home for the day. Will be bringing my car back in the future

Being new to the Austin area, I dread looking for reliable mechanics. I am so happy I found them! Francisco was in the shop at 7a and gladly accepted my car, despite them not being open yet. I needed to have the car back quickly so I could take a planned trip that afternoon. He was very professional and kept me informed throughout the repair and I had the car back before 11a. I chose this shop because it is located right behind Tesla so it made it very convenient for me to get a ride from a coworker. I now have a reliable, trustworthy mechanic in town. I highly recommend them.

Jose and his son’s did a fantastic job on my 17 Chevy Colorado. Needed the torque converter swapped out in the transmission. JH did the work right with reasonable pricing also. Highly recommend you go out and visit JH automotive for any and all car issues.

While it can be tough to find car-repair in Austin without the feeling like you're totally getting hosed, the father-son team of mechanics at JH Automotive is a welcome oasis in the desert. Don't let the vacant lot and food truck on the property fool you; these guys are serious, skilled, and they take care of business. They remember who you are, the work they done, and --most importantly-- they're extremely honest. They stand by their labor and make sure the job's done right. Highly recommend - I won't take my car anywhere else.

I never write reviews, but these guys deserve the recognition for going above and beyond. They are the most honest and trustworthy mechanics I have ever had the pleasure of doing business with. I originally brought them my 2017 Ford Fusion and after finally finding out that the motor was built defective and has a recall, they declined to work it. I couldn’t be more appreciative for their honesty. (The first mechanic I had look at it was charging a lot more money and was not honest about the severity of the problem. He was being extremely pushy about getting the work done asap, never informing me that the repairs would last long.) I now have a different older model car that will need a few minor repairs. They are the only shop that I will ever allow work on any vehicle I own as long as I am in this area. They are genuine, reliable, have great communication and with all of that, still have the most reasonable prices. They are family owned and operated. I couldn’t be more pleased all the way around with the business ethic and morals that they offer. Thanks Dylan, Fransisco, and Jose for everything!

I went to other auto repair shops, which were far more expensive, and he was immediately able to diagnose the problem with my vehicle. He charged a very fair price, explained how he would honestly solve the issue, and got it done within the day. I was worried because I had to work the next week and wouldn't be able to stop by an auto shop in time. He took the time to ensure it was fixed within the day, and I couldn't have asked for better help. I highly recommend his work.
