One of the best surprises in moving to Jacksonville was finding a 5 star auto shop conveniently located. And my first visit exceeded my highest expectations. From being received by the owner JJ (because employees were helping others) to the final detailed assessment of my dashboard light issues -- I could not have asked for more. I received competent explanations and answers to my many questions, and was charged a reasonable price for a 1.5 hour systems test. In addition I was assured by JJ that they would call me back after making some calls to a modifications manufacturer, to learn whether a more cost-effective additional solution was available. These guys have earned all of the 5 star reviews I read!

I took my car to JJ’s Auto Care because my AC suddenly stopped blowing cold air, despite being recharged just a few months ago. I assumed there was a leak, as the issue came on abruptly. Initially, I was pleased when they called to say the car was ready for pickup. However, my satisfaction quickly turned to frustration when I learned they hadn’t been able to detect a leak but had gone ahead and added freon and dye without consulting me—at a cost just shy of $400. Here’s the breakdown: they added 10 ounces of freon at $12.90 per ounce, totaling $129. I’ve purchased this exact freon before and know for a fact it doesn’t cost nearly that much. I understand that they needed to add freon to check for a leak, but not running the charges by me first is unacceptable. If they had been upfront about not being able to locate the leak and the exorbitant cost of the freon, I would have opted to add it myself and saved a considerable amount of money. I also can’t understand how adding freon and dye with labor could possibly justify a bill approaching $400. I understand labor for auto care can be expensive, but inflating your prices for parts is incredibly dishonest. Transparency is key in auto care, and I feel JJ’s completely dropped the ball in communicating what they planned to do and how much it would cost. This lack of upfront disclosure left me blindsided by a hefty bill for a service I could have handled myself. Please communicate with your customers BEFORE conducting the service. It may seem like nothing to you, but being blindsided by a large bill in this economy is not manageable by everyone.

My husband & I disputed charges w/ our credit card companies for work done at JJ's Auto Care. We were denied because of JJ’s policy he signed when he picked up his car. I encourage everyone to read their policy, do not sign it until you have personally driven your car. JJ’s Auto Care’s negligence is the proximate cause of the damages to my vehicle. Specifically, JJ’s technician(s) damaged my fuel sensor, fuel pump, TPMS sensor, & exhaust. JJ’s attempts to cover up its negligence by blaming me & using its friendship with S&S Custom Exhaust. Aug.14, I had my car towed to JJ’s. Aug.16, JJ’s informed me that I needed a new clutch, master cylinder, slave cylinder, flywheel, crankshaft seal & new exhaust gaskets. Aug.19,JJ’s told me they had test drove the car & everything was in working order. While driving home, I noticed my digital gas mileage gauge was blank showing unknown mileage until empty. This was odd b/c when I gave JJ’s my vehicle, the fuel gauge showed approx. 85 miles to empty. MyTPMS light was blinking, indicating that I had low air in my tires. On the way home, I purchased fuel to ensure I had enough since the fuel gauge was now not working.The gauge then began to read mileage. When I got home, I checked each tire for the proper air & all the tires had the recommended amount of air. I decided to drive my car for a few days to see if the fuel gauge changed.The fuel gauge didn’t decrease as it should. Aug.22, I contacted JJ’s to report these problems. JJ’s directed me to continue driving my car to see if the problems would resolve. I am in the U.S Navy & was required to leave town for work from Aug.22-25. Thus, as directed by JJ’s, I drove the vehicle Aug.26 & 27. However, the problems didn't remedy themselves as JJ advised. On Aug.28, I called JJs back to inform them that their advice hadn't been successful. JJ’s directed me to bring the car back on Sept.4. Sept.3, my vehicle failed to start, I contacted JJ’s. Sept.4, I had to have my vehicle towed to JJ’s at an additional cost to me. Sept.5, JJs called & told me that my car was out of gas, & that now, my vehicle required a new fuel pump. JJ’s also told me that my TPMS fuse needed to be replaced. JJ’s charged me for a new fuel pump but didn’t charge for the TPMS sensor. Sept.6, I picked up my vehicle. JJ’s assured me they test drove it & the problems were fixed. Again, as I was driving home, I heard an extra loud noise coming from my exhaust system, which was also vibrating the entire inside of my vehicle. Sept.11, I took my car to S&S Custom Exhaust. I told the tech that JJ’s had replaced the gaskets on the exhaust. The tech was familiar with JJ’s & commented that the owners were friends. The S&S tech stated that JJ’s tech must not have tightened the exhaust gasket screws & one screw was completely missing. S&S advised that I needed V-band clamps. I was able to watch the repairs being made & before he started the repair, the tech showed me where my exhaust wasn't attached correctly(missing screws & hardware).JJ’s included a letter from S&S Custom Exhaust’s owner, Ian Smith. I never met Mr. Smith & he isn't the person who worked on my vehicle. The letter wasn't authored by the tech who completed the repairs & to whom I spoke with. The letter admits that Mr. Smith didn't complete the work as he stated “S&S examined”, not “I examined”. Mr. Smith claims that the problem was my inexpensive, poor quality aftermarket exhaust system & that S&S installed 2 V bands instead of replacing the entire system. This was never said to me by the tech. The S&S tech & Gary(JJ's Auto Care)stated that I have one of the best sounding & performance exhausts.As I stated above, when I originally received my car back, I noticed these things were wrong & called JJ’s. Instead of setting me up with an appt, JJ’s advised me to keep driving. This advice caused me to run out of gas & pay to have my car towed. Also, both times JJ’s claimed the test drove the vehicle & assured me the problems were fixed. Neither assertion was accurate. Clearly there's a pattern of poor work & incompetence.

Absolutely thrilled with the service I received from Charles while getting my car’s struts and shock absorbers replaced! From the moment I reached out, Charles was incredibly straightforward, taking the time to explain the issue in detail and outlining exactly what needed to be done. He made sure I understood my options, without any upselling or pushing unnecessary services. He then went above and beyond what most shops would do by also replacing several of the other components involved with the job to truly make sure an exemplary job was done- this is something that other shops may be keen to save time/money/effort on. What really stood out to me was his genuine professionalism and how he consistently kept my best interests in mind throughout the entire process. It’s rare to find someone who is as trustworthy and transparent as Charles, and that gave me complete confidence in his and his work. The job was done efficiently and correctly, and I could feel the difference in my car’s ride immediately—smooth and stable again! I can't recommend Charles enough. If you want someone who is reliable, honest, and truly cares about providing the best service, look no further. He’s the real deal! Car is driving extremely smoothly now.

I couldn't be happier after my first experience with JJ's. Brought my daughter's 2013 Traverse in for change of headlight. She had a headlight replaced a couple months ago at another mechanic and they charged her over $200. JJ's did it for a lot less. They also gave me a great price to polish the headlight lenses. I will be bringing all my vehicles to JJ's in the future. A big "thanks" to my neighbor for referring me to them. This is a very clean, professional shop with friendly staff and expert mechanics. Since 2020 JJ’s (referred to me from Costco tire center) has done about 4 or 5 major repairs and never took advantage of me and never was unfair in their pricing or anything. They’re so kind and classy and a beautiful clean location. I recommend this place ! With a one year warranty on their work keeps you that piece of mind however you will never need to use that warranty most likely because it’s good quality thank you Charles Gary, and everybody over there

Took my SUV for a check engine light they took advantage that I was leaving out of state and left it worst. Paid $2,300 my suv after I picked it up it had a really loud noise and the engine light came back within a month 1/2 of us moving. Had to take it back to the mechanic, when I explained to them the noise that it was making they just brushed me off like I was crazy. If you are a woman be careful and take someone with you who knows what they are going to do to your vehicle and make sure you don’t get overcharged.

this will be my go to for as long as i’m in jax. first of all, i want to rave about an employee named charles. i spoke to him on the phone at around 8 in the morning and he got me in instantly. he repaired a large hanging piece of plastic that was dragging on the road while i drove. i was expecting to have to get a whole new part and wait for weeks but he repaired it within 15 minutes and only charged 20 dollars. absolutely incredible. i was waiting in this really nice comfortable waiting room with soda, water, coffee, and a variety of snacks. such a nice place. can’t leave enough stars for this company. I was taking my car here regularly for repairs and preventative maintenance until they replaced my oxygen sensor and caused a gas leak; at first the strong gas/chemical smell in my car was similar to when they did the diagnostic, but it became so strong I could taste it and had to open the windows, as I worried I could pass out. I was able to return to JJ’s shortly after and have it corrected, but am concerned that permanent damage was done to my engine because of their carelessness, and had gone to the store right after the original repair, where a man smoked a cigarette ~25 feet from my car, which made me wonder if he’d strolled just a little bit closer, if he’d have blown us up.

Had been having issues with my car for weeks and no one could figure out what was going wrong, was just spending money left and right. Was very conscientious to have a lock box if you are unable to find room in your busy schedule like me to make it before they close. Overall quality of the work was amazing, completely fixed the problem and feels like the car is running better than ever before. Customer service was amazing, they answered every time I called, which was a bunch and made sure I was taken care of. Couldn’t ask for a better auto shop experience, they get straight to the point and are confident in there diagnosis. Charles was amazing and a super nice guy, it’s always a scary experience to take your personal vehicle to an auto shop and not be let down, he made sure that I was gonna be happy with the outcome and I definitely was. Will be coming back here for an auto repairs I need in the future.

Thanks for the great work on new rack and pinion and pressure hose. Great work and fair price. I go no where else to have work done on my 03 honda. Update. well 10 years later still amazing shop. Idk when they do an oil change, they must us some secret sauce. My wife borrowed my truck the day after my oil change, and she said wow so smooth you can really tell the difference.

Anyone who has posted a negative review and had it promptly removed, please reach out on Facebook. I’m working with action news Jacksonville to get this information out. $1800+ for random repairs I’m not sure I ever needed. They put the wrong oil in my car, still deny it despite the photos from my inspection showing my engine oil type and my invoice that stated the wrong oil was used. I can’t figure out how to post the photos. Two months after they repaired my car, I start to notice a burning smell. Great….. my car breaks down in traffic right in front of their shop to get the burning smell checked out. Gets towed by city before I could get someone over there to move it from a turning lane. $400 dollars later (impound fee and towing fee to get it back to JJ’s, I was talked to like a child who gave them 6 dollars to look it over or something. Over $2200 dollars gone. Not only does Gary have the nerve to deny their shop put the wrong oil in the entire time I was there, he also informed me that the wrong oil in my turbo mini cooper wasn’t a big deal and wouldn’t cause the car to break down. Oh. It wasn’t th at it was the wrong oil. He told me there was no oil in my car…zero when it arrived…..and that it was leaking and I was told that it was still leaking when I had the repairs done. What did I pay for? He told me I was supposed to keep an eye on the leaks that I took my car there to get fixed. They warranty out my battery they just replaced for some strange reason too. Said it like he was proud to be doing me a favor. The 2 month old battery magically drained to nothing and died from less than 30 hours of having my hazard lights flashing while impounded? What brand new battery can’t sustain hazard lights for a day or two? Icing on the poop cake….he tried to tell me the oil filter housing was cracked and needed to be replaced now for a total of around $1100. I ask for my keys and drive the car away. It drives away. There was not a problem with my oil filter housing. Gary is a bad person. He’s running this amazing business into the toilet.
