I was referred to John at KarTek because I needed a new Catalytic Converter. John was great. He gave me all the information and explained everything. I also had him check my battery because I was sure it needed to be replaced. I was ready to buy a new one and have it put in. John checked and said my battery was fine and there was no need. The work was done quickly and everyone at KarTek was so nice. John’s gonna be my new mechanic….They also have a thing that you can sign into so that you can keep track of your Service Record.

Caveat*** Haven’t tested / proven the repair.. it just got fixed**. but everything looks awesome. These guys were very kind and quick with their work. My exhaust pipe was completely disconnected and they did not try to up sell me and they explained everything clearly to me (I’m 30yo female, and that stuff happens a lot with other mechanics) I dropped my (HUGE/HEAVY) bus off at 10 am and got it back at 3 pm and was out of there under $300. Not bad. Thanks you guys, you saved the day! I’ll be back for more work, I just know it.

Eddie, John and the crew at Kartek rebuilt my engine and transmission on my rare 1962 Jeep FJ-3 fleet van back in 2010ish. I have continued to bring it in for regular maintenance since then. THEY ARE HONEST, COMPETENT AND STAND BY THEIR WORK! THEY ARE ALSO VERY FAIR ON PRICING. But most of all, they are TRUSTWORTHY.

From Barbye Davis- Moriah is my daughter. I have to give this shop a shout out! They were amazing. We traveled all the way from Kansas City. We had trouble with our van leaking Antifreeze. We needed to get our van fixed so we could finish helping our daughter move her stuff into her apartment and then to drive back to Kanasa City. They fixed our issue and were very reasonably priced. Very trustworthy!

Honestly, if I was able to give 10 stars, I would. Visiting our son in CA from New Jersey. Borrow his car to go up to LA and car problems on the freeway. F-ck. Quickly look up the nearest muffler/exhaust shop and detoured to KarTek. I mean, we were stuck, big time. And these guys saved the day. Told us they could have it fixed in an hour, price was so fair and honest. We walked around a bit, got pho nearby, went back, and it was good as new. IF YOU LIVE IN LA GO HERE!!!! Even if it’s a little bit of a trip. They are good as gold. Kind of one of those moments where it’s like…people are good after all. Thank you KarTek. We wish you lots of success in your business, you 100 percent deserve it.

Kartek is the best custom exhaust shop in all of LA. They do EXCELLENT quality work, with high attention to detail. If you’re looking for solid work Eddy is the best guy around. I’ve been using him and this shop for 20 years. Quality keeps me coming back with all my cars/trucks. Highly recommend. See photos of the work they did and judge yourself.

Please stay away! I had the absolute worst experience. I went in for an oil change after purchasing it on Groupon. After about 1 hour, they told me I needed to replace my rotors and brake pads. Then, I needed to replace a few more things apparently. In all, they said I needed $1400 worth of services. I repeatedly said no. 45 minutes later (not sure why an oil change needs this long?), my car simply wouldn't turn on. When I confronted them about it, they said it was because of the "issues" I came in with. The owner was absolutely disrespectful when I asked for more information, going as far as interrupting me and saying "are you done?" after I asked him to lower his voice multiple times. I'm now going to need to get my car serviced, and spend way more than the 49 bucks I spent on Groupon. PLEASE STAY AWAY! They are a HUGE scam, incredibly disrespectful, and not worth the "savings."

SCAMMY! Stay far away. Went in with a Groupon for new brake pads and they upsold me on new rotors. Was told they wouldnt install the brake pads unless I purchased the rotors. Gave them the green light as I know little about cars. Waited 4 hours. Got my car back and my it was making a terrible “metal shredding metal” noise every time I braked. Literally iron scraping iron. Had to take the car BACK to the shop the next day. They fixed the mistake but with no apology or compensation whatsoever. Called my dad on the way back and he told me he replaced the rotors that they upsold me on the year prior and that those last for between 30,000-70,000 miles. It takes quite a while to wear those down for someone who doesnt drive a lot. I contacted the manager (Peter) about it and all he did was cover up the mechanic’s dirty business and give me bs excuses, reiterating that I “needed” them. Checked my car paperwork and dad was right. New rotors 12,000 miles ago. Don’t make an expensive mistake like I did. Stay far away.

Stopped in today and was not greeted warmly. Despite not making an appt w/ my Groupon, he could have been kinder. There is a right and wrong way to tell a customer about your company's policies; and, he certainly did it the WONG WAY! Cancelled my Groupon immediately and going to another local mechanic.

These folks have been my mechanics for 20+ years. Saved me thousands. My transmission started slipping a while back. Took my 1989 Jeep to Two "Transmission" Shops close to work. Both represented that I needed a "NEW TRANSMISSION" in writing. $2,400-$2,600 Went to Eddie and John (Kartek). They did a diagnosis, and replaced two sensors. $100, complete out the door. 5 years later, still no "Transmission problems. These guys are fair, honest, and truly talented professionals. I have nearly 300,000 miles on my 1989 Jeep. I give them all the credit for keeping it on the road.

The worst service ever. I got a Groupon for oil change tried to made an appointment three days the guy all times changed time and lied. Last try I was waiting for him 30mins after his lunch he was just keeping saying that coming but 30mins after I left. Nobody else could help me there.. everybody was waiting for the guy.. I don’t recommend the body shop for everybody!
