After having a few concerns about my vehicle, I decided to make an appointment with KC Autoworx, wanted to get everything looked at, just to be on the safe side. The guys took it out drove it around, checked every concern I had and let me know there wasn't anything to be worried about and all looks good. That being said, they said I didn't need to pay, since nothing was found that needed addressed. After the time they spent checking it out, I must say this was highly appreciated. Hands down these guys are dependable and I will be using the shop going forward.

Cannot enough Greta things about this place. Got my car in and done same day and final price was wayyyyy under everyone else’s. Second day and no issues. Absolutely stellar service. Jason is awesome. Once again I can't say anything enough and how glad I am these guy's move to the neighborhood. I sent my daughter's 1st car there to get fix for some minor problems but I actually send my daughter she's 19yrs old to do it for the experience and to start learning how to take care of her car too. They took care of her without any hassle or taking advantage of her! They really do care about people. Thanks again guys 💯

Very trustworthy. I’ve gotten things double checked at other auto shops and everything has checked out. All the guys are honest about what you need and what can wait to be serviced. They’ve literally saved me money in the process too. Highly recommend.

I got stuck and broke one of my front axels in the recent snowstorm. This shop got the axel orderd and fixed the same day I dropped the car off. And they charged a lot less than another shop did for the other axel about a year ago, so I definitely found my new mechanic going forward!

I went here for an inspection and was in/out within 20 minutes! I spent triple that amount of time researching auto shops in the KC area that are honest and don't try to force you into doing work you don't need just to pass your inspection. I paid special attention to reviews written by women and KC Autoworx had glowing ones. So glad I found them and highly recommend.

Had a headlight go out in a dealership wanted to charge hundreds to replace it. Sure, it was a pain to get the housing off/on but nothing that these guys couldn't handle! A quick trip in/out and no more headlight errors. They also did a quick safety check and refilled fluids "just because". Highly recommended!!!

I can’t say enough about my first experience with the team at KC AutoWorx! On a recommendation from a co-worker I brought my CRV in for a 2nd opinion after getting a $2,000 repair estimate for 2 issues from the dealership. And am I glad I did! Chris, Johnny and Pat were awesome to work with, very professional and honest. They fixed one of the problems on the spot without charging and gave me solid advice for the other. They gained a new customer and I’m happy to support local businesses. Thank you!

Tldr: I got banned by my mechanic and I'm sorry for raising my voice but why wouldn't you just call me when my car was ready?! 😭🥴🤪 My goal with this post is to take responsibility, advocate for myself, and hopefully help others make an informed decision on the service they may receive here. My issue began when after having my car for a full day, I called to check the status at the end of the day after not hearing anything since I dropped it off at 8 AM and was informed it wouldn't be ready until the following morning. This seemed odd and was inconvenient, but ultimately I took responsibility for not asking for a time estimate. The following day I didn't hear anything all morning so I call at noon for an update and was informed it still wasn't ready. I said I would need it to be finished that night or I would need to pick it up as-is since I hadn't accounted for a multiday job and I work evening shifts. I'm sure I sounded terse but it wasn't inappropriate to express this. They said they anticipated it being done but didn't want to make any promises. I waited until 4:40 to call for an update. They say it should be ready but are finishing up and need to test drive. I receive a call at 5 saying they are staying late to work on it and I can pick it up 'tonight'. I ask when tonight as I need my car to get to work. They say it 'should' be ready around 5:45 or 6:00. In my experience, I usually get a call when my vehicle is ready and at this point I'm not even sure if it will be ready that night (I interpreted 'should' as a probability, not certainty). I get a call at 6:20 asking if I'm coming to get my car tonight. I say yes and I had been waiting for a call, they respond telling me they told me when it would be ready. I think it's fair to say this was a miscommunication on both ends. At this point we are bickering over the phone and I raise my voice (I never cursed or used abrasive language, I let them know they were in power of the situation and whether I retrieved my vehicle or not). From my perspective, it was frustrating to have this person act annoyed with me for not picking up my car on their ambiguous timetable. That being said, I take responsibility for raising my voice and apologize for any discomfort this person felt as a result- no one who works in service deserves to feel demeaned doing their job. The lack of proactive communication while my vehicle was with them was frustrating. The persons unwillingness to take responsibility read as either a lack of empathy or hubris. My guess is they were overbooked and my less than effusive responses when I initiated calls for an update (3 total over 2 days) were an annoyance. Unsure if not calling me when my vehicle was ready was an oversight or weird power play. I ran the situation by a few people (and Google) and it doesn't sound like expecting regular status updates is an unreasonable expectation 🤷‍♀️

had a great first experience here! came in for an oil change and an issue with my heating system--kc autoworx was quick, professional, honest, and didn't overcharge at all. extremely grateful for local spots like this that are fair to customers and wish i had found them earlier! definitely coming back.

They helped me out with my alternator and made sure my car was good for a very long trip. They were so kind, honest, and understanding and got me in and out as quick as they could. I'm very grateful!

We took our 2016 Honda Pilot here and we could not have been more pleased. They did a pre purchase inspection for us. The show is incredibly clean and the guys were very welcoming. They really know their craft. They had a classic car on the lift and a few other modern cars being worked on. So glad we have found our mechanic after moving back to the KC area. Thanks guys!

I would give this place 10 stars if I could. Johnny the manager saved me $300 dollars. I would recommend these guys to anyone. I needed an inspection but they found more that was not done to my car from the time before it was worked on (not from them) and made sure I did not pay for it. I appreciate them for the honestly and great work they do. I am so happy that they are my new mechanics. Chris at the front is amazing too. Go check them out!!!

I've used KC Autoworx several times now and will continue to. I especially appreciate that they are knowledgeable, transparent, and honest. They take the time to educate customers, and there have even been times they recommended against services another repair shop suggested that weren't actually necessary; that kind of integrity is invaluable.

Good crew of techs who're truly there to help. They've been taking good care of my truck lately and I'm very appreciative of y'alls help! 8/23/2024 edit: KC Autoworx yet again has proved why they're the best around. My sister had a tire blow out nearby this morning, and when we couldn't get the lug nuts off the crew at 39th St. sent a technician out to help us change the tire and get my sister back on the road. Honestly, some of the absolute best people in the city work at KC Autoworx!

I was headed out of town to move across the country and all of a sudden started having wheel problems. Called a bunch of mechanics and no one could get me in until the following week. Called KC AutoWorx on 39th and they were able to get me in that day and able to get my issue fixed by that afternoon. They were super helpful and clear about the issues my car was having and got it addressed faster than expected. Johnny and Chris did a great job and if I were still living in Kansas City, I'd only take my car to them.

We took our car in as it was having engine problems and they ran a diagnostics test and solved the problem within minutes. They told us what to do if the issue occurred again and best of yet they did it all for free. Incredibly nice people and a very honest auto shop. I wish we had this place where I live as this is the best experience I’ve ever had with a mechanic. Thank y’all for a quick and easy trip!

These guys are the best. I take my vehicles to them for state inspections and also more importantly for pre-purchase inspections. They identified a Tacoma as a dud before I could make the mistake of buying it, and verified a nice 4Runner that I went on to purchase. Really clean facility and nice waiting area. Plenty of dining options and cafes within walking distance too.

Excellent, honest shop. Went in for some sounds from the front end suspension. After setting up an appointment and going in, they took it for a test drive, did a check of the suspension and found no issues. Explained that they looked through it and it looked good and did not even charge me! Most places would have charged a "diagnostic fee" or even made up some sort of issue. But they gave me the honest report and I will be continuing taking my business to them from now on.

I chose them because several friends on Facebook referred me, and I liked that they were in midtown, close to where I live. Turns out they are so honest and conscientious and checked everything thoroughly and could have charged me for all the things I imagined might be wrong, instead, just charged me for what was necessary, and I was so impressed! They're definitely my car's new best friend!🤗

They are a busy shop but squeezed me in on account I had to take my car on a last minute road trip. They gave me an estimate by mid morning and had it fixed by 2pm! No haggling of additional repairs. Just found the problem and fixed it. Chris was great and easy to work with - I’ve used them before and will continue to use them for any auto body needs.
