I called and they said it would be a week before they can even look at my car. That’s bad service. No company I’ve ever heard of makes people wait a week for a diagnostic test. Sad because I live in the neighborhood but I won’t refer anyone else here.

I saw the great reviews online and decided to give this place a try because they let you bring your own parts. I had 2 drive belts replaced today for my Sonata and was in and out in 45 mins for a very fair price. The owner and his staff were extremely nice. I will definitely be returning for all the future work needed on my car

Great experience with Johnny, he was able to get us in fast, serviced at a more than fair price, and communicated with us throughout the entire process. Customer service was excellent. Johnny is really knowledgeable and educated us on what he was going to do and what parts were needed. He followed up with us the next day to ensure our problem had been fixed. Could not have had a better experience. Will definitely be using him in the future for our vehicle needs. Highly recommend!

Only place I’ll bring my car around here. Johnny was very helpful and accommodating for an AC repair. I spent about a thousand doing something myself only to find Kings was able to fix it for $160 if I brought it to them first. Going here first if anything goes wrong.

I have been a regular customer at King Auto Repair for over 20 years. I can confidently say that this is the best auto repair service I have ever been to. My family has never had any issues with their services and all of the mechanics are very honest and trustworthy. Any issue I have had with my family’s 5 cars have been quickly resolved. I have two children in college whose cars I have towed from 100s of miles away just to make sure that King Auto Repair is the mechanic. The owner, Irfan, has consistently gone above and beyond to resolve any and every car issue we have had. Whether it is going out of his way to find difficult car parts or providing quick emergency services, this company has always put the customers first. You can not find a better quality service for a more reasonable price in Charlotte!

I wasn’t able to put a reply to a previous post that was made today by my sister to provide clarity on my experience. I did receive a call back after that post was made from the owner, and really wasn’t given the opportunity to fully explain or express my frustration. I’ve been dealing with this issue with my car for the past month. I’ve been told that the issue was my alternator based on Auto Zone and O’Reillys checking the battery, starter, and alternator. I ordered a remanufactured alternator that once it was replaced, I was still experiencing the same issue - delayed start for my car that would sporadically happen. I even got a new battery, and still the same issue. When speaking to the owner for the first time on the phone, he asked me what was going on and I gave a full explanation to where he responded “can I talk now?” which in all honesty I felt that response was more of a cultural difference so I didn’t take offense initially. Today, the owner was not able to make me feel confident in his findings. I dropped my car off right when they opened, and received a call maybe 5 minutes after leaving that he noticed my keyless system malfunction light was on and he’d take further look into it and give me a call back. That light has been on since I got the car in 2019 (I have a 2017 Toyota Yaris ia) and I’ve never had issues. I was starting to question if he was even taking into consideration that the only reason I came was for him to replace the alternator. He said the alternator was reading 13volts which I asked him if he had checked everything because we had JUST left so I was a bit iffy on his response because that was a pretty quick answer. I didn’t believe that was the issue in all honesty, but I still was going to trust what he said because I’m not a mechanic. The issue I had was the owner telling me “you have 2 issues we need to address, the keyless system malfunction first which is $250 + $75 for the diagnostic THEN we can address the second issue of maybe electrical wiring with the alternator but we HAVE to address this issue first.” You couldn’t tell me with confidence that light would fix the problem until after my sister made that post, but also why couldn’t you just say the problem with your car is the keyless malfunction? Your response to me asking are you sure this will fix the issue because you’re saying it maybe be electrical wiring with the alternator was “I wouldn’t have taken the time to look into it if I felt otherwise”. If it was an electrical issue with the alternator, could that have not been addressed? I understand you did your due diligence of ensuring what was wrong and for that I thank you, but your delivery came across like you weren’t sure and it’s my right to say I’ll figure something else out and I left it at that. You wouldn’t even tell me what the “second issue” was. Like I said, I’ve been dealing with this issue for over a month so I just decided to pay for the diagnostic and figure it out. I didn’t even want to try to explain to you how I felt because you kept cutting me off every time I started to talk when you called back because of the review. Now my brother and sister did go to pick up my car and the person I spoke to on the phone was not there. The mechanic who actually did the diagnostic on my car was super helpful! He showed my brother what the diagnostic read, and explained how the code is not being received by the car which can cause this issue of it sporadically not wanting to start. Had that been explained earlier I probably would’ve come back. The mechanic even found that there was a screw to my alternator that needed to be tightened and that message wasn’t relayed earlier with the owner. That’s how you tell someone your findings, not “you need to fix this then we can work on this” when the issues weren’t even contingent with each other. I just hope in the future you can be more empathetic and compassionate to those trusting you with their means of transportation. Nobody wants to waste their time or money on ifs or maybes. Put yourself in your customers shoes.

If I could give 0 stars I would. Went into shop on 3/11 and was told there was water in gas tank and fuel pump($450.00) needed to be replaced. Brand new fuel punk was put in and then told the car is ready for pickup on 3/13. Picked the car up and drove less than 5 miles when my car completely shuts off on me. Called Jonny and he gave me a jump and told to come back to shop to take a look. Upon looking over the car he tells me it’s now the alternator that is causing the car to not crank(i.e was never told the alternator was bad from him when the car was initially brought in, nor was the alternator defective when I took the car into the shop the first time) he tells me I need a new alternator($350). I asked Johnny is he 100% sure the issue is the alternator before one is ordered to avoid spending more money on something that isn’t going to resolve the issue. He assured me the alternator would fix the problem. He gets the new alternator which he then puts on the car. Once put on he comes to tell me the brand new alternator is defective and will need to have another one put in to resolve the issue so he orders another and puts that in. STILL DOESNT WORK! He then proceeds to say I will have to leave the car ANOTHER day so he can find the issue. I go into the shop on 3/14 assured the car is up and running and all issues have been resolved. I was happy to know I was able to drive the car off the lot and then I proceeded to get gas. While driving I notice my dash board lights are not on AT ALL! I can’t tell how fast I’m going nor can I use my turn signals. I bring the car back to Jonny ONCE AGAIN to be told that it’s now the “ECU” and that would need to be replaced($150). Keep in my none of these things were defected prior to 3/11 when it was brought into this shop so now it’s another part that needs to be brought. At this point I was very frustrated that almost $1000 was spent and my car still is having an issue I was told to “shut up” and was told to lose my attitude because of this frustration of being told a new issue with my car EVERYTIME I was told it was “ready for pickup”. I do not recommend this place AT ALL. Terrible customer service and lack of empathy from the owner. I was referred by a long time customer so very disappointed Johnny acted in such a manner. Will take my money to a more reliable and respectful mechanic.

I’ve only used this shop to service my cars for the past 12 years. The owner is honest, upfront about issues and skillful, I'm highly appreciative of this. Along with, really good prices compared to dealership. Wouldn’t go anywhere else!

So my sister went this morning to try and get her alternator changed out because her car has been having trouble starting. The owner called us back and said that it was a security issue with her key fob and that she needed to get it replaced and then they can look into the issue with her alternator. Even though the owner said on the phone that they tested the alternator and battery and said it was fine. The whole point of my sister dropping off this car was to replace the alternator and that was it. We did not ask for them to look at any other issue. All we asked for was for them to change out the alternator and that was it. There was no point in mentioning any other issue. The light that pops up in her car about her key has been on since 2019. If there were issues with the “security” then we would’ve known by now. The owner lied just to make a couple 100 bucks out of us and I won’t stand for it. If you truly want to make a good business, then stop lying to women about what’s actually wrong with their cars. We will not be supporting this business any further. I don’t care for a response from the owner because he’s probably going to lie once again or call me crazy. Thanks

This is the best mechanic in town. I have been getting all my car fixed here for years. The mechanics are so honest and kind. They always offer the best advise and service when it comes to my cars. I have had multiple issues the owner fixed without even asking for money. My 2005 Honda Odyssey van would not work at all. The engine was completely dead and Irfan and the mechanics rebuilt me a new engine for a fraction of the cost of buying a new one. I have been going here for over 10 years and have nothing but good things to. The mechanics go above and beyond to solve issues with great care.

Owner is extremely RUDE and dismissive. I simply asked about their services including air in a tire. He was so rude I would never use his services and do not recommend! Response to owner below: I did not "unload my trash on you" (again being extremely rude/NASTY!) I had a fantastic start to my day. However you didn't even take the chance to look at me in my face to say what was needed. And your employee claimed to not speak English. You ran off which like I said was not professional and extremely dismissive. You can curse me to my face but at least have the decency to stop for 5 seconds and speak to me like I am human. Regardless of what services you offer for me at the time I could have become a paying customer for future services. Its unfortunate how terrible customer service has become. There are many businesses on this same street which I would highly recommend and have used!
