I've been bringing my car(s) to Chris and his team at L&B for years now, and have recommended them to everyone I know, but somehow I have never written a review so here goes! Cannot say enough about what a fantastic business this is-- honest, knowledgeable, authentic, transparent, and genuinely caring about their customers. I used to have a certified beater of a car that I'd inherited from my dad and was basically being driven into the ground. I explained to Chris that I just needed to be running and safe to drive but didn't want to sink any unnecessary money into it and he totally got it-- he kept that thing going for me for several years in the most cost-effective way possible (always giving me options like "I can replace your broken side mirror with a junk part that will look crazy but will cost $500 less than if I ordered it from the manufacturer," etc.). Then, the pandemic hit and I needed more reliable wheels. Chris helped me decide on a great slightly used Subaru and couldn't have been happier for me about the upgrade, even though it meant I would be seeing him a lot less :) In the years since, I had a baby and moved to Queens, but I still come all the way back to Greenwood for inspections, etc. because Chris has earned my trust for life. I have so many stories about why that is but here's a very recent one. Last week, my partner royally screwed up during a car seat removal mishap and basically my seatbelt was wrapped around the car seat and locked so that it couldn't be pulled out any further, rendering both the carseat and the seatbelt useless. Several not helpful YouTube videos later, I drove to L&B fully expecting that they'd need to cut the belt and replace it, but Chris asked if he could try something and keep the car overnight with a vise clamped on the seatbelt just in case he could tease any more tension of out it. He called the next morning and said it worked and he was able to pull the carseat out and the seatbelt retracted normally and I could pick it up whenever FREE OF CHARGE! Who has ever heard of this? Oh yeah, and that reminds me of the time he personally walked several blocks to jump my car in the middle of an insane snowstorm and again REFUSED TO TAKE ANY MONEY. He is the best and I will shout it from the rooftops! Go here, you won't regret it.

Hands down best auto mechanic in Brooklyn. I had several issues needing fixing (tire needing replacement, oil change, tire misalignment) and he addressed it all in one day. Chris was kind, honest, efficient and affordable. Thank you!

Hands down- awesome place! Those that own a car know you have "a shop". Everyone "has a guy" or "knows a guy" and growing up in Queens I had a guy but since moving to Brooklyn the commute back was too far. For a few years I didn't have a place...until 2 days ago! Chris is fantastic at communicating, there is no up selling and as a woman, I felt comfortable. For context, I need an inspection and a hitch for a bicycle rack put on. Dropped it off but come to find out the dealership gave me the wrong part, Chris called a few dealerships he knew and got me the right part number- something he had no obligation to do but did anyway. I got the part the next day and he graciously fit me into his schedule and had me out in a timely manner. They even had time to fulfill my request of putting the bike rack on. THAT is excellent customer service, something that I feel is more infrequent then ever. Even though I am leaving the area to attend school when I return I'll be using this as my go-to shop.

L & B saved us! Our rental car immediately had a flat and I called them and let them know we were in a rush. They said they could get us fixed quick if we got there soon. 30 minutes and a very reasonable bill later we were back on our way to see the eclipse. They also have a great sense of humor that took the edge off our unexpected pitstop.

Top class, honest and friendly… they saved me literally $2500 after a shamefully dishonest dealership quote for an oil leak. The dealer said it required removing the entire engine to fix… Chris at L & B showed me that it was actually just a loose filter. I’ll be going nuclear reviewing the dealer, but for now, let me just say, thank goodness decent humans exist. Thanks guys!

Chris, the proprietor of L and B, is an excellent dude. He's honest, quick to turn a job around, and reasonably priced. With some car repair places, you can get that nagging feeling that they might be taking advantage of your ignorance of what goes on under the hood to rip you off a little, but never with L and B. Great experience. I needed a brake service on my car. Chris provided a quote over email. During the drop off Chris gave honest feedback that my front brakes were still good and did not need any service. I dropped the car off, it was ready the following day exactly as promised.
