Had a cat replaced at a competitor 3 years ago. It went bad, and Legacy replaced it for a third of the cost. Nicest guys, and they just got a customer for life.

As a woman, I’m often worried that car shops will be dishonest and overcharge me. In the past, I have dreaded taking my car in. But Legacy doesn’t feel like that at all. They take the time to talk through the issue with you, getting a very thorough amount of information before deciding how to proceed, and let you in on every step of the process. They helped me fix an issue I had gone to several different people about. I’m so thankful!

I came in for an oil change and while I was there I mentioned that the ride was very rough and is there a way that I could fix it. They said that they could install a leveling kit and replace the factory shocks and it would make truck handle like the way it should on bump and everyday road hazards. I asked would it take long and would it break the bank and their response was no more than half a day when parts came in. Well I agreed after being quoted hundreds less than the dealership and he was true to his word, it took under 3 hours (I had him order me some nice rims at a great price) and I picked up the truck blown away by the quality and the overall feel of my truck. I will be coming here for now on!!

Legacy Automotive on Lombard & Wall st! 👏 I am extremely happy I took my vehicle to Legacy Auto to get my oil changed! 🚗 The transaction was very simple without having to make an appointment. 🗓 I dropped off my car & was able to pick it up before lunch. 🍽 Not only did they do an amazing job. 👨‍🔧 They also balanced out my air pressure in my tires. 🛞 I know the company has been in North Portland since I was a child. At least.30+ years. Thank you for serving the North. 🫡

Brian and everyone at Legacy was super nice and helpful! When our car had an issue that they couldn't resolve, Brian gave us a recommendation of where to go. I personally appreciate when a mechanic can admit something is outside of their wheelhouse and can point us in the right direction. We definitely plan on coming back for any standard maintenance we need.

Brought our newly purchased 02 Infinity Q4 over to check a loud exhaust..the guys got it in right away and fixed two broken connections for less than half what we expected! Real pros, friendly and helpful. Highly recommended!

I stopped in today due to my skidplate hanging down and not being able to drive more than 25mph. I was hoping for a temporary remedy. Instead the gentleman, with a beautiful smile and kind heart said he could do better than that. He took my keys pulled my car in as another left one of the bays. 15min later he handed my keys back and kindly explained the repair while sending me on my way. While I waited I was impressed with the interaction between others customers. Definately, using them in future.

Legacy is the only place I take my cars. They’re reliable, thorough, and don’t nickel and dime you. I had a Volvo that was throwing check engine lights and they directed me to a Volvo specialist so that I would know exactly what the issue was and didn’t get scammed by other mechanics. After looking for used cars online, I took a car there I was thinking about getting and after he inspected it, I learned there were hidden transmission related codes that needed to be addressed. Andrew was really helpful when I was looking for another car and gave me places he trusts. I went over to Cars To Go and was able to get my new car inspected by their second location by Doug. I recommend this place because it’s family owned, they’re reliable, will take the extra step to help, and hire staff that are trustworthy. Any car issue I have I go to Andrew because I know he’ll give me an honest answer of what the issue is, if I need to go to a specialist, and he won’t overprice you.

Honest and great service, I brought my car in because it was overheating, I thought I had fixed the problem myself and feared it was going to be an expensive fix as I tried all the cheap fixes myself. I left the car with Brian, super nice guy he said he would take a look. Got a call couple hrs later, I forgot to put a clamp back on. They charged me next to nothing and most importantly they where honest when a lot of shops wouldn't have been. I won't take my cars anyplace else again!

Called yesterday, had appointment this morning. Andrew kept me updated every step of the way with my repairs and luckily the stars aligned and it was fixed in less than 5 hours! Impressed with not only service but felt very comfortable there as an older female and my car runs like new. I will keep going back.

My husband had an amazing experience with Andrew at this shop! Since his welding gear is not in town at the moment we were able to pop in and ask for some help with two simple welds for my pop up camper (which someone tried to raise with the bracket closed injuring one pole but leaving the cable in tact.) We removed and reshaped the pole but needed a professional welding job done as soon as possible so we can get the top up and down with ease. This turned a couple thousand dollar job into some (a lot of) man hours and parts which we were able to do largely on our own. We really appreciate the help in our endeavor/labor of love! Happy summer everyone! We will be camping this month in our new Jayco and putting it through its paces. Next up-- solar panels!

Been to Legacy twice now after moving back into town for service on both of my vehicles.. This is a very upfront and honest shop. The guys are all super knowledgeable and very friendly. Customer service is huge here and the work is great. Other places have tried to push me into getting work I don’t need and these guys have not done any of that nonsense. Legacy is definitely the shop I recommend to everyone.
