The AAA repair shop (body work) referred me to this shop and I am eternally grateful! I love the guys who work here-they are as honest as the day is long. I used to have any repair or maintenance work done in Arizona because I just didn't know who to trust that wouldn't overcharge me (can anyone say the 76 Station on the corner of Franklin and Argyle). But the men here know what they are doing, they charge $125/hour for labor, and they are good people. I have been referring my family and friends here and they, too, are thrilled!

I’ve been going to Legit for a couple of years. These guys never fail to impress. Gary and Greg are easy going and will never try to oversell you on the work your car needs. They can service anything from a VW to a Bentley. Finding a trustworthy, honest mechanic that provides world class service is a rare thing. These guys put the dealership to shame. If you need car repair or simple maintenance, look no further.

Gary, Greg and the whole crew at Legit Automotive are the best in the business no doubt about it. I'm so lucky to find them. They are honest people here that actually care. They could have easily told us that we needed this repair asap but they gave us a few options to try to see if it needed the repairs now or if we can save up for later. Luckily for us the first option worked and now we can save up for future repairs. They took us through each step professionally. I have been going to Gary and Greg for probably a decade. I can’t speak more highly of them. They’re not just experts at what they do, they’re the only people I’ve ever met in this industry who operate on such a high level of integrity. THEY DO NOT F AROUND. :) they’re honest and hard-working. They take very good care of their clients and operate with an honorable work ethic. I will continue driving from the West Side to Gower because they’re the only people I trust with my car.

I actually didn’t get to use their services. I was in the middle of my road trip back home to SF. My car suddenly made little noise so I called to see if they had any availability for a quick checkout. It’s Christmas Eve and I was being clear about what I needed (quick exam to see if it’s something urgent or I could still drive back) and would understand if they couldn’t take my car. The guy picked up my call was lecturing me about how last minute notice made his job very hard and I was putting him in a difficult situation after he clearly told me he was NOT taking my car in. And again I was fine with that and going to call other auto shops, but he went on and on about how this is difficult in a very aggressive tone and kept saying “you have to understand my point of view.” I didn’t beg him to check on my car, a simple “we are booked can’t take your car in” will do. I was the one ended the call as I politely confirmed that he wouldn’t be able to take my car and thanked him (and to save both of our time). I believe he is good at what he does and cares about the quality of his work, but I don’t appreciate him taking out his frustration from wherever on me.

Legit Auto are honest, and good at what they do. Take your Lexus here for service . My 35,000 mile Lexus was quoted $9800+ for repairs by the dealership ( jim Falk Lexus ) Legit fixed it for $30. Legit saved me $9770 today. Details: Lexus nx300 2018 - 35,000 miles - perfect maintenance on schedule - ran like a dream until last week when Cylinder 2 misfire Took it Jim Falk Lexus because I was nearby - charged $289.04 for inspection / diagnosis Informed the cylinder head gasket need to be replaced + likely additional repairs ( valve guides replaced , fuel injector replaced ) Quoted $9800 just for the first step. Wanted second opinion & towed it to Legit Auto Was present for initial inspection witnessed that Jim Falk had not touched the cylinders ( no fingerprints / disturbed dust ) Legit Auto swapped the plugs & coils positions & gave it a fuel additive $30 total - problem solved Maybe it was a fouled spark plug , maybe some carbon in the line - either way THIS was the correct first step, not just because it saved $$$ but because it it the proper way to inspect and address the problem.

First time customer here. Gregg is very nice and honest. Which is hard to find with auto mechanics nowadays... most spots just want your money and will lie to you about stuff you may not need. I took my car in to get my tires rotated and went around the corner to grab a coffee. Gregg called me about 10 minutes later and informed me that it would not be worth it for me to rotate my tires as they were quite old, had nails in them, and would most likely need to be replaced soon anyways. Even though he had already started on the job, lifted the car up, and taken down the tires, he still didn't charge me anything. He was very friendly and straight forward, and does honest business. Wish more mechanics were like him...

I got to know Legit Automotive through a referral and I could not be happier. Service is fast and great, and they always make sure you have the best info in terms of cost and urgency to decide whether to make a repair. Not only they are very reasonably priced, but I believe they are actually cheaper than large roadside chains as far as oil change and tire service is concerned! A+++

If you’re like me two weeks ago and find yourself having a tire catastrophe on a Sunday night at 5PM when nothing is open so you’re scrolling reviews desperately hoping to find somewhere to go in the morning - this is the place. I showed up first thing Monday full of anxiety and dread and Greg greeted me right away and was so kind and caring. In just a few minutes, he had me on my way to work with a promise to call with an update soon and a sense of relief that it would be okay. He called as promised and by the end of the day I had my car back with 4 new tires and they fixed an issue the dealer brushed off. Shout out to the mechanic, I hope I’m remembering right that it was Marco who worked on my car. Take a deep breath and take your car to Greg, they really are as nice and good as the reviews say.

I’ve been coming to Legit Automotive for years now. They are always extremely friendly, professional, knowledgeable and helpful. It’s so hard to find a great place for your car’s needs but I can assure you that Greg and Gary know what they’re doing and your car is in safe hands. They do an awesome job in a timely manner. I’m currently driving a Range Rover and I trust them to always take good care of my car and resolve any issue that I might have. I highly, highly recommend this place!

Their work, professionalism and service were outstanding! My car needed a new radiator and fuel injector, amongst other things, when it was towed here after I searched mechanics extensively online. The car gods were with me: I was so lucky to have Greg and Gary taking care of my car. Their prices are absolutely reasonable and fair. My car was in bad shape, and they got it humming again and charged me hundreds less than I would have paid elsewhere. Thank you, Legit Auto!!!

Truly the kindest and most honest mechanics you will ever know! I would drive 45min out of my way just to go to these guys cause I know they will always be honest with what the needs are and give me multiple options to solve the problem. I brought my car in as an emergency for a failing car battery that was installed by AAA 7 months ago. Greg helped me get it replaced within a day, kept me up to date on everything from the quote to when the vehicle was delivered. I also learned how AAA rips off customers by giving them recycled batteries that are meant to break down so long as you keep their membership. Highly recommend Legit Automotive and DO NOT recommend AAA car services

Wonderful trustworthy auto repair. I was referred here by a friend and couldn't be happier. My car broke down and after having it towed to Legit it was repaired and surprisingly only a minor fix was needed. Their knowledge and expertise as well as friendly service was much appreciated.

Gary and Alex saved my life! 2014 Hyundai Sonata died on me in the middle of driving, Gary allowed me to get it towed to his garage after hours. They were able to assess the issue and get a plan going immediately and I got my car back in less than a week. They went above and beyond for the car, rotated tires, changed the oil, got a car wash (with tires detailed), they even fixed this part of the front corner bumper that was coming off. Worth every penny, hopefully I don’t have to come back because of the detailed work this crew did but anytime I need work done, I’m calling these guys.

Nothing but good things to say about this place! I took my 2013 VW Passat in for some much needed repairs. Greg and his team were incredible and were up front and honest about everything, communicating with me every step of the way. Before they pulled the trigger on anything, they checked in with me first. On top of all that, they were super friendly and I felt very taken care of throughout the entire process. The name Legit Auto speaks for itself. I don't take my cars anywhere else but this place. I have been a customer of theirs for over 10+ years. Gary has always taken cared of my car needs. They provide honest services which I never feel I was getting ripped off. On so many occasions they would tell me I don't need to fix it, as it's not necessary. Whereas other shops would take my money and insist on getting repairs not needed. I really like their honesty, and caring for their customers. Highly recommend this shop! - Russ

Couple of things: 1. I almost never write reviews. Not because I'm some review elitist or something - I'm just a normal guy that's busy like everyone else. However, sometimes I have an experience that just warrants one. 2. I meant to write this review about 3 months ago right after I went to Legit Automotive, but life got in the way and I kept pushing it off. However, the reason both of those points matter, are because it just goes to show that my experience with Legit Automotive was so positive, that I actually sat down to write a review and it was still on my mind to do so months later. So here's the story - Problem: Sputtering sound when my car was starting Initially, I went down the street to a different shop, left them my car for a few hours, and when I returned, they told me that they couldn't figure out the problem as it wasn't happening for them, but the car could either be fine or have a major issue (kind of a big disparity there). I even showed them a video I had taken the day prior of the issue happening, and they still weren't able to help (this shop had otherwise been solid for me in the past, so I was surprised that they couldn't handle it). They then recommended that I go down the street to Legit Automotive to see if they could diagnose the problem. I drove up to Legit Automotive and was immediately greeted and directed to the front office (no awkward looking around of where to go / who to talk to, etc). I told the gentleman the issue I was having and told them I had a video. I showed them the video, and they INSTANTLY told me what the problem was. The owner also came over, introduced himself, was incredibly friendly, also listened to the video, and had the immediate same conclusion as the first guy. After that, the entire process was seamless and handled very professionally. I left my car for them to fix, and they communicated with me every step of the way before doing anything / confirming price, etc. They even found another safety issue with my car that I was aware of (but didn't know the extent of how dangerous), that they offered to do a temporary fix for free so I could avoid a much bigger problem until I was able to fully fix it later (it required body work, which they don't do). This is a family run business and it feels like it. It's very professionally run, with great communication, fair prices, and and overall comfortable experience, which is key for someone like me that doesn't know much of anything about cars. Final Rating: 5/5 (would recommend to anyone, including my grandma)

I left 5 stars because I don't know what I would deduct for. I've been bringing my car to Legit for a couple of years now and it is always a great experience. After mistakes with other mechanics in L.A. that, without exaggeration, cost me thousands of extra dollars in avoidable problems, I'm grateful to know about Legit, and I come from DTLA to bring my car to them every time. The only other mechanic I use is in a neighboring state near family members of mine. Greg and Gary are a great team. As the face of the company, Greg is warm, courteous, and always professional. He gets to know his regular customers on a first-name basis. As the expert, Gary is direct and no-nonsense in the best way. He believes in doing good work, fairly. I cross-reference prices, and while Legit's may not always be the absolute lowest in town, they're always reasonable, and usually beat out the competition. I have a vintage, high-mileage 4x4 that I regularly take into the mountains and desert. It recently reached an age where lots of little things have been going wrong, and Legit have been a blessing for me. They insist on using OEM parts whenever possible, and they're usually able to source those at competitive prices. Over the course of the work that I've had done at Legit, they've actually been slowly correcting things that were done wrong (and have thus failed) by previous mechanics. I went for a smog check today, and the technician there complimented me on how well I take care of the car. When I asked him how he could tell, he said it's because everything is clearly well-maintained, all parts are OEM, and the work is all done right. This was the smog guy! I told him it's because I have a great mechanic. I'm leaving this review today because Legit just came through for me again, resolving a particular dash light issue that arose separately during a recent repair, even though it wasn't their fault or obligation, and with no extra charge. The first time I brought my car to them, I didn't realize I would need to leave it there longer, and Gary took time out to drive me in his own car to the nearest Metro station. Now I bring my bike so I can get home and back on my own, but I'll never forget that kindness that few other mechanics in this town would show. Legit won't do every kind of job, which I think is a good sign, whether because of things they don't like to do, or simply aren't as good at. Any time I've brought them something they won't take on, they've given me a reliable referral. No one is perfect, everyone makes mistakes, and sooner or later someone will have a bad experience here for whatever unfortunate reason. But I got lucky to be referred to Legit by a technician at Valvoline during a routine oil change, and I would encourage anyone in L.A. looking for a fair, reliable mechanic who does good, lasting work in a family-style business where the employees all look happy at their job to stop by Legit and give them a try.

If you are in the SoCal area and you need anything regarding auto repair (oil change, tires, something happened to your car) - these guys are THE BEST. They explain everything super thoroughly, their prices are the lowest (they also don’t tell you to get things done that you don’t need to!), they are super friendly! I’ve been going to them for years and they are consistently the best. I feel like auto repair shops can sometimes prey on women/people who look like they may not know a ton about cars - and these guys make sure you understand what they are doing and why. Whenever I have car trouble, I never worry about being ripped off by mechanics because I know that Gary and Greg will provide the best prices out there for the service. Their services are always completed in a timely manner. When picking up my car, they even educate me on what happened, and ways to care for my car to prevent future damage. Two individuals at this place treated me poorly, for no reason. Both were extremely rude and one was critical, with the other being condescending. Both for no reason. After I stood up for myself, one of the two was helpful when I asked him a question. I am a transgender woman.
