I’m hesitant to write this because these guys have felt like our hidden gem. They always have great prices and are far more thorough than we would ever reasonably expect. We recently got a dealership quote for a part replacement that was around $1,500. We brought it to Lincoln Park Auto, and they bought the part from the dealership and charged about $850 total (and asked us to bring the car back in for a free inspection two weeks later). Can’t recommend this place enough.

My car's heater stopped working, and with winter upon us, it was a real problem. I took it to LPARS, and they diagnosed the issue as a faulty thermostat. I was expecting to be without my car for a day or more, but they were incredibly efficient. They had the part in stock and completed the repair in just two hours! The service was fast, friendly, and professional. My heater is now working perfectly, and I'm so grateful for their quick turnaround time. I highly recommend them to anyone in need of car repairs.

I pulled in, panicked, with my check engine light on. My 2013 VW Passat has been a problem child for the past year, so I feared the worst. John immediately took the time to look at my car. Within 15 minutes, he ran diagnostics and found a slew of error codes. I was ready to melt down, but John calmly explained that it was likely one issue causing the cascade of errors. He even suggested I visit the dealership for a quick diagnosis since their software could pinpoint the problem more efficiently. He also offered to do it himself but said the dealership would be faster. The dealership quoted me $1,700 for the repair. I went back to John and got it done the next day for $850. Less than half the dealership’s price! He also asked me to bring the car back in a week so he could double-check that everything was in perfect condition before I drove to Michigan. John explained everything in detail, gave me the costs up front, and the pricing was more than fair. You will find this place to be honest, friendly, fairly priced and fast service. Most friendly car place we have ever gone - we live in the neighborhood and take our car here all the time! I don’t often trust car people as a woman, but I have never felt that any staff here was disrespectful or talked down at me, and they have never tried to up-sell us on anything our car doesn’t need and have been very honest about it. Highly recommend!!

***WOMEN*** Please do not go to this place. I simply needed the tire pressure checked and filled for a trip I was going on. I have an app that tells me where my tires are at and i knew some of them were low. They did not fill them or check them as I found out later bc my app did not change. They also told me I needed an oil change which I knew I did not, bc I had just had it changed, and they tired to sell me other services as well. I ended up having to go somewhere else where they checked my tires and filled them. I will not be going back as I did not feel like I was treated with respect or honesty on something so small.

My car has been giving me a few issues. I took it in to Lincoln Park Auto Repair to give me a diagnosis. I thought it was going to be a transmission issue, but was hoping this wasn’t the case because my car is a 2019. I got a call a few hours later asking me if I lived by the repair shop. I immediately said that this doesn’t sound like good news. He told me over the phone that my car needs new brakes and wanted to see if I wanted to stop by to see the old rusted brakes to be assured that they needed to be changed. I never had an auto shop repair shop ask that before! They are SO thorough and friendly. I don’t drive my car often, but I have noticed over the past few weeks my brakes have been squeaking. I had my all my brakes/rotors replaced as well as a transmission flush. My car has never ran better! I feel like all auto repairs are expensive, but this place has fair prices!

The lead mechanic has always been reliable and willing to work with me if there is an issue. He was willing to keep working on that car until the issue was resolved, not making me continue to make new appointments and pay more. Their service is quick and on schedule for regular maintenance and they don’t sell unnecessary work.

Would absolutely not recommend. Came in because my check engine light came on, and the guy convinced me to get a diagnostic that cost me $160. All to tell me I needed oil in my car and my problem is solved. Fast forward 2 weeks later and I have to get another diagnostic because the same problem was persisting. Had to come out of pocket for another diagnostic at Firestone, and they found that the crack shaft needed to be replaced. Not saying this place scammed me, but that’s how it feels. Total waste of money. I recommend going to a bigger name place. More trustworthy

I have been going to Lincoln Park Auto Repair since it opened. They are quick, consistent, and take care of everything I need. What I like most is the are good at communicating not only what is wrong, but how they will fix it, and suggestions on how to best take care of my car in the future. Honestly, the best value for money you'll find in the city. I brought my car in because the engine light was on, and John quickly figured out and fixed the problem. Staff is super friendly, they are very quick and the pricing is very fair. They won’t BS you like some auto repair places will. They also explain everything clearly and will show you first hand if something needs to be repaired on your car and are very transparent with the costs.
