I think I finally found my "go to" auto shop. It turns out that Michael and Ryan are from another repair shop that I used to go to until two years. Michael was the manager at the other shop when I first went; Ryan came later and was the Assistant Manager under another person. I had a bad experience with Ryan's previous Supervisor, so I left and never went back. I stumbled upon Lonestar Elite Automotive. I was so happy to see Michael and Ryan. As a team, they were awesome and didn't try to take me to the cleaners...as many shops do. They quality work at a good price; and, gave a list of things (in order of priority) that I need to get done on my car. Needless to say, it was a great experience! Ben

I've known Billy, the owner for 13 years since he opened up his shop. Always honest and guarantees all his work. As the business has grown, he's hired and trained all his mechanics to do the same. Highly recommend Lonestar Elite!

We love this shop. We had our brakes replaced along with a lot of other issues for a friend's car we took care of, and they really stand by their work. Also an incredibly clean garage which I think is indicative of the pride they take in their services.

Let me start by saying these guys were cool but I feel like they didn’t do as much as they could have which is the reason for this review. I took my Chevy Malibu in because I was having an engine power reduced message. They ended up replacing a valve gasket cover which was almost 1700$. Got my car back engine light came back on and I was still having the engine power reduce message. Took it back in they replaced the catalytic converter which was about 2000-2500$. Got it back, engine light came back on and not getting the engine power reduced message anymore but still had a code that pop up an issue with the catalytic converter. They ended up saying it could potentially be the o2 sensors which would be another 700$ job. Months later while my engine light is still on my car went into engine power reduce mode on my way to class and I was completely exhausted. I found a mechanic on Facebook who looked at it. He ended up replacing an oil pressure sensor and the oil pressure control solenoid valve. Ever since my engine light hasn’t been on and no engine power reduce message. Lonestar was nice but if they can’t figure out what’s wrong the will give up on you. They told me they did an oil change and a state inspection for free after telling me they couldn’t figure it out, which was nice but I could have did that myself. The reason I was there was to solve my car issues and they didn’t. UPDATE: They reached out to me and made an effort to restore some faith. I really appreciate these guys for doing that. Jesse really did go that extra mile to make sure I was satisfied as a customer.

The staff was very friendly and informative. Many places were having their state inspection machine turned off due to the new state laws. They were having trouble with their computer but still made arrangements with me to get cash to pay and informed me ahead of time that they were not going to be able to take credit card payments! I would come again and give them a chance for other services as well.

Edit: So we figured out what happened. The mechanics stripped a bolt on the manifold and wanted us to pay $1600 for their mistake. As a result, oil sprayed all over my altinator. So now it cost me another 300 dollars to replace that. This shop is ran by incompetent mechanics and the owner is a coward that will not talk to you if you have an issue with them. We definitely have grounds to sue them now. Terrible service. I took my car in to get the check engine light off and just had an idoling problem. After 1200 dollars worth of work the check engine light was still on and all the sudden I had a severe oil leak. So bad I could no longer drive it. I took it back and the incompetent mechanics said it was a radiator issue, as if I don't know what oil looks like. 300 dollars later I get the car back and all the sudden there's a sensor problem that the car didn't have before and they wanted 1400 dollars to fix that. The car was still spewing oil. So I brought it back so they could replace the seals, and they told me I needed to pay another 1600 for the oil leak. My car is undrivable now. The manager refused to make it right. My car never had an oil leak until I took it to them. This was no minor oil leak either. Oil was covering my engine and smoking. I took the car in for an engine light and now the car is massively screwed up. Each time I got the car back it was worse. Do not recommend. Worst mechanic experience I've ever had.

Very personable employees, helpful and took time to show me various things on my car. They give you a printout with what was checked and the status, and include photos of anything that needs attention.
