I went in for a full-synthetic oil/filter change on Saturday morning, 10/12/2024. Service was prompt and friendly, if a little more expensive than my norm. HOWEVER, the issue was the fact that the Lube Pit Stop technician in the pit failed to replace all four of the front retaining screws on my engine splash shield. The splash shield detached during my drive the next day, and needs a repair. So, not only am I missing the 4 retainers, but I now have to get it fixed (this service really requires a lift). I'll not be returning to Lube Pit Stop.

I've taken my truck to them twice now for oil changes and I couldn't be more impressed. Not only is the entire staff super friendly and respectful, but they are very reasonably priced and always take the time to answer my questions. I took my girlfriends car there recently, because she had taken it to Jiffy Lube and they barely put any oil back in the engine! She was having some codes pop on her car as well and they plugged in their scanner for free and recommended a shop down the street for her to take her car to. They even checked the battery and a few other things. When I asked how much I owed them, they said don't worry about it, just keep taking your vehicles here for service. Couldn't be more impressed with their service and their honesty, which goes a long way any time a vehicle / mechanic is involved.

Did the vehicle inspector ask me for a gratuity?! To be fair, he did say that it was an option. He was friendly and fast but that’s ridiculous!

Honestly I've never gotten an oil change and was nervous about it, but everyone I interacted with here was so wonderful. They gave me clear instructions without a hint of being condescending. A few of the team members cracked jokes and were super personable, I'll be coming back time and time again!

I have a G37 with a hard plastic engine cover on the bottom of the engine. There are 12 bolts holding it on and it has to be removed to change the oil filter. They removed it and when they put it back on they left off 7 bolts!!!!! I drove off and by the time I got to Ben White it sounded like someone was banging on the bottom of the car because air was getting between it and the engine and it was making a terrible noise. I looked under the car and saw 2 bolts missing from the front, then took a look at the back of the engine and 5 more bolts were missing. If I could give them negative stars I would. AWFUL WORK, do not take your car here.

On the recommendation of my regular repair shop, I went to these guys for my annual inspection. They greeted me promptly, made sure I had my proof of insurance, and asked me to wait. The wait wasn't long, considering that there were about three people ahead of me. Boom, my car passed and they gave me my paperwork. The guy I dealt with was pleasant and efficient. The price ($18.50) seemed fair.* I'll certainly go back here next time. *The charge slip included a line for a tip. The guy pointed out that I could tip but didn't have to. In the end, I did leave a tip. This all seemed a little weird, and tipping culture has gone too far, but at least there was no pressure to tip.

I can't believe it took me this long to share a review...after moving from a city where I had my go-to local oil change & inspection shop, I was stressed about finding somewhere with good, quality, QUICK service! I've been coming to Lube Pitstop for multiple years now. My husband also started bringing his car to them, and they've been so kind and helpful with getting it taken care of (it's a bit of an older vehicle). Great price and quick service, but most importantly, the guys are always kind and provide quality customer care. Love Lube Pitstop!

I was so disappointed when I brought my car there today. I first arrived sometime between 3:30 and 3:35 pm. When someone first came to talk to me, it was between 3:40 and 3:45. He said that while the close at 5 pm, they decided to close the inspections early today. He said that their normal practice is stop taking new inspections at 4, even though it shows online that they don't close until 5 pm! I showed him my watch, which showed 3:45. He then went back to the inspection area to talk to the guy who performs that service and then he came back to tell me that the owner/manager told him to close early because there weren't that many customers. Again, this was at 3:45. Then I asked to speak to the owner. The owner then said, next time if you come on a Saturday, make sure to get here before 4 pm. When I showed him that it was STILL before 4 pm (at that point, it was 3:52), he said, "Well, it takes about 15 minutes, so it's too late since we won't finish before 4 pm." When I explained that I had originally arrived between 3:30 and 3:35, he just looked at me and said something akin to "have a nice day." Instead of trying to correct their own inconsistencies, they just dismissed me, even though the inspection guy was still there! Normally, I would have just taken note and gone to someplace else, but I was trying to get my car inspected before I drove to visit my 82 year-old mother the next day who had a recent fall. They clearly didn't care. Not providing clear times online and then lying to cover obvious mistakes is no way to treat customers.

These guys are the BEST oil change you will find anywhere in Austin!!! I've been coming here for years, and they always go above and beyond. Very honest, straightforward, respectful, and professional. High attention to details. I'm very grateful for all their years of service.

These guys are the best, local oil change / car inspection outfit around. Sad to say they are a dying breed as places like this get pushed out of the city. I trust this place for candid advice and work on my cars and truck.

Like other recent reviews outline, I'm also a long-term (8-9 years) customer that will no longer be coming here. They formerly had discounts for returning customers. The guys helping me last week didn't even mention this. When I brought it up, I was told that they typically only offer $2 (yes, two dollars) off for returning customers. Whatever, not a big deal as long as the job is done right. Turns out, after taking my vehicle for an inspection, there was no new oil administered! The price is outrageous for the new low quality work they're providing.

$100 for 4.3qts of oil and $3 filter. Not even a tire rotation, or anything. Just drain and fill. At least they should have free food or snacks before screwing people.

Dishonest, careless and lazy. Twenty minutes after getting an oil change, my hood flips up smashing my windshield and nearly killing me and other highway drivers. I drive about eight hours daily for work, so this is no coincidence.The idiot forgot to latch the hood shut. They are taking no responsibility and will soon have a lawsuit on their hands.

I’ve been coming here for over 10 years and it’s come to an end. There has been a few times where they won’t service my vehicle because it has a skid plate, even though there’s a skid plate fee and they can do it. Once I’ve been there, and they pumped the oil out of the top of the engine.. This is my go to and I would send other people here, but that is no more. Rip to an Og Austin spot.
