I came here for an alignment, which was overpriced as heck!! And the job was not done right. The jam nuts for both of the tire rods were not even tighten and they came loose on the drive home... which is a huge safety issue please do not come here.

This place is hands down the best. I live in Kyle, but I make the trek because I trust the staff here. Barac helped me patch a relatively new tire with a borderline irreparable screw puncture, and it has held up for going on 2 weeks. I'm so grateful he took the time to try to fix it before pointing me to a new tire. Every time I come here the staff is so freindly. The wait times and prices are super reasonable, even if I'm a walk-in. Even their waiting room chairs are super cozy. Cannot recommend this tire shop enough. Thanks guys!!!!

Such an amazing, honest shop!! Our car randomly started screeching and we assumed we’d need brake pads or rotors changed or something that would cost us a bag. These guys were so nice, found a tiny rock in the backing plate, and got us in and out in 30 minutes. With the way the car sounded, I’m pretty sure other places would’ve turned this tiny problem into an unnecessarily costly one. Would definitely recommend!!

This is a good and honest shop. Wait time was less than half the time I was quoted over the phone. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. Big thanks to Jay for being amazing. I will come here for all repairs in the future

Great people who offer a great, fast service at a very fair price. Me and my wife have been taking our cars for years. They've never tried to upsell us or push us into unnecessary work (they've even said we don't need things like an oil change at that time), always transparent on timings and open with their quotes/pricing. If they need to investigate before quoting they always call to confirm before starting work. And they have an annual crawfish boil!

Very friendly & knowledgeable staff. Solid prices. I’ve come here for oil changes, tire replacement, car inspections, and any time a warning light of some sort has lit up on my dashboard. They always figure out a solution! Update, June 2024: Still a good place overall, but make sure you specify exactly what you want, or you may get something more expensive which you neither asked for nor wanted. I've been going there for 3 years for oil changes and have always gotten the same exact type of oil every time. There's a log in their system with a complete history of what type of oil I've received. During my most recent visit, they used a fully-synthetic motor oil instead of the customary synthetic-blend motor oil I've always received. The fully synthetic version costs $30 more...which I don't find out about until they finish the service, ring me up at the register, and then I go back to my car to compare the new invoice to the previous invoice. Now, do I need to specify to them which type of oil to use if it's the same thing multiple years in a row? Apparently so ☹️. Couple that with the fact that my car is older (it's a well kept 2010 with 146,000 miles on it), and the fully synthetic oil is worse for my car than the blend. So I paid $30 extra for a worse type of motor oil that I never asked for 🙄.

Well I was referred to bring my vehicle into here because I was told they do good work. So between two trips 100.00 on Uber and 140.00 here for zero change. It still shakes and pulls hard to the right. You would think that if you bring it in about that when you drive away it wouldn’t do that. I guess test driving it to make sure would have been to hard. But this is the one and only time I will waist money here.

Jay and the boys at Lucas have taken care of not just my vehicles, but also those of many friends and neighbors. They are wonderful humans and expert mechanics. I trust them to keep my Toyota ready for the frequent 1000 mile trips I must make to Colorado.

This place gives me hope that independent businesses providing top notch, neighborly service still exist in Austin! I found them through Google search and noticed hundreds of five star reviews. I called, and they were friendly, informative, and offered to investigate the problem quickly. When I returned although the diagnosis for my tire was grim, I was met with full office full of happy customers, workers clearly happy in their jobs and on a first name basis with many who were doing business first thing Friday morning. I met a kind elderly gentleman who said he had been coming to this location for years, although a former Ford employee, entitled to retiree discounts for service and repairs elsewhere, he had been coming here for over 15 years. His testimonial directly to me spoke volumes. Icing on the cake? They did not charge me for fixing and remounting my tire. Guess where I'm coming when it's time to replace all my tires? What a great experience! Update: It's been a minute, and a whole new car since my review. Thought I had a nail in my tire, false alarm. Another great service experience!

I came here for a few years, doing state inspection, oil change, tire rotation, air filter change. They were always fast and I called in the morning to check if they were busy so that they would do it same day (I very much do not want my car to me left at a mechanic overnight unless it’s a multiple days job). I did the same when a tire light came on in my car, thinking I could trust them given the previous good experiences. They told me to come in and they can look and either patch or replace same day and they would let me know which. No calls the whole day, car was left there overnight which I explicitly told them I would absolutely not want. I call the next morning and they say it’s a nail in the shoulder, can’t be patched, the tire needs replacing. I asked for price and asked why they would only change one tire and not two to keep it even (they were not new tires so changing only one would be very uneven). They said just one tire, there would be no load issue, and the price was quite high. I called discount tire and price was much better for same brand, and they confirmed I would need two, so I went take the car to bring it to discount tire. Well as it turns out the nail was dead in the middle of the tire, very very far from the shoulder, and very very patchable. Discount tire patches for free, I got home from there in 30m and $0 and I’m still running great a good 8-10k miles later. I’m willing to give them another shot, but this was straight up lying, it’s not an opinion whether the nail is on the side or on the top.

I took my car in for repair at the end of December 2023 for the first time. Jay worked with me to get my car in and I waited for it in the area. The work was done on time and for the estimate Jay provided. Spot on repair and service. The staff were all very pleasant.

Lucas Tire & Auto is the only place I take my car and trust because of their integrity, honesty, and knowledge. I have been meaning to write a review, but they have been consistent and helpful for years on my lovely old 2008 Ford Focus. They are honest and unless something is critical, they don't recommend additional work or charge for unnecessary repairs outside of scope. I have lived both in South Austin and Round Rock after originally taking my car here and still only take my car here because it is the only place I trust. I am grateful because they are always on point and will be straight with you. They are communicative and give clear timelines/rundowns of the situation after they survey the car and have always come through for me. Whether it is maintenance or a big repair, I recommend them fully to keep your car running well and makes a tough auto situation better when you don't have to question or worry.
