I have been a customer from Premier mazda since I purchased a vehicle there in 2017. Recently, within the last 2 years, Premier Mazda became Luther Mazda. Right away, I started seeing changes, price increases, delays, communication inconsistencies, and some of the services they used to offer were no longer offered. This past weekend, I made an appointment and took my vehicle in for an oil change, I was greeted by a rep who tried to offer me a 90k service when my vehicle had 105000 mileage. I explained that my vehicle did not have 90k, and I had recently done 100k maintenance. He went back and apologized for reading mileage incorrectly. He said the work should be done Saturday before end of day, well Saturday came and went, Sunday gone, and Monday almost gone when I decided to call and get an update cause I had not heard from them. After a 10-minute hold, I finally spoke with someone who apologized and said that teammate I was working was out of the office. I guess if someone leaves, then no one is there to communicate with their customers. She apologized and told me that the vehicle is ready for pick up. I explained that would try to go before the end of the day to pick up my car and return the loaner. Hailey says ok not a problem." On the way, I went over a railroad track and from the right tire went flat. I call dealership to get their permission to change tire, or do I need to call roadside assistance. Hailey tells me to go ahead and change the tire and should be fine. I change tire myself, take picture and no damage to the vehicle apart from the flat tire. I go to tires plus and Discount Tire, and they tell me that Tire won't keep air. They say that possible warranty issue since tire has been used less than 1k miles. There are no perforation on tire, no visible signs of trauma, and no clue why he won't keep air. They did not have the tire brand or size to replace, so I go to Mazda and return the loaner. After waiting 2 hours, they tell me that tire flat, wheel bearing damaged, needs a balancing, and alignment, and total will be $1100! I explained that vehicle was fine, there was no damage to the vehicle apart from the flat tire, explained that the vehicle was checked, and 2 tire stores said there was no damage to the vehicle. I ask to listen to sounds they are saying, and they refuse to inform me I have to make an appointment to come back and speak with the manager. I say ok, they say they won't release my own personal vehicle, which I own until I pay the fee. After speaking with the manager over the phone, they became rude and stated I was yelling. At no point did I yell, use vulgar language or anything of the sort. I tell them I will pay, take my car back and make sure to share my story to warn others of an awful experience and how I had to pay $1100 for a flat tire that was most likely a warranty issue. Awful customer service, shady business practices, and don't value their customers! I won't be going back, and I caution everyone of this dealership

Brought my Mazda cx5 in to have the AC compressor replaced. That job was completed. While doing that job they took the serpentine belt off which is part of the installation of a new AC compressor. At my next oil change they proceeded to tell me that same belt needed to be replaced and tensioner with a price tag double of what it should cost. They took a bad belt off. Re installed the belt then told me I need it replaced. Why not do it while it’s already off? And why charge me double of what it should cost?

My experience with this dealership started out smooth since buying the car in early July 2024. The sales staff were nice however I was awaiting my title but was told it got legs & walked off meaning it was lost & they would need to send off for another. I left a message 4 days ago with the General manager with complaints with no return call back. I haven't ever had this much go wrong when buying a new car. I would definitely reconsider dealing with Luther Mazda due to their lack of responsibilities & communication.

I purchased a car from this dealership eight weeks ago. it started out going very well. And then they got my down payment and deliveres a car with the chipped windshield that they have yet to replace. The car ended up needing to be serviced. They have had the car for over a month providing updates periodically not regularly as promised, they gave me a loaner car that was filthy. Finally I am finally able to pick up my car only to find out that my loan has to be done again for the third time, due to their mistakes! My car that I purchased has no gas in it, my windshield is still chipped, and now my tire pressure light is on. The gentleman who sold the car, Andrew, proceeded to act like he did not know who I was, and that he never sold the car and finally that he didn’t know about the chipped windshield. even though he drew up that we owe you document. They were Also supposed to issue another temporary tag, because I still don’t have the title to register my vehicle and the temporary registration goes out in less than five days, you guessed it, there was no new temporary tag assigned to the car. This has been one of the worst car buying experiences I’ve ever had

These guys provide a video of the service that's being done on your vehicle as well as your service rep will come explain to you what the video entails without pressuring you to do repairs. They always suggest what is recommended for your vehicle at that particular mileage. They also show major courtesy as well as friendliness. There are two other Mazda dealerships that are closer but I prefer to go to them takes me about 35 minutes to drive there for my house with no traffic. If I had one bad thing to say I just wish the price were little cheaper or maybe they added coupons for services that I need.

This applies only to the new owners Luther Mazda. I purchased my CX-5 from Premier and had great experience with purchase and service department. Since Luther came on board - service started out bad and has gotten progressively worse . Transition was not smooth and specifically explanation of new procedures and scheduling. I showed up to 2 separate appts scheduled online and did not get part ordered or had NO appt on their books. I've had particular problems with the female customer facing service employee. Interactions were not good and I never felt like I was given correct and truthful answer - not to mention lack of social intelligence to read my body language, etc. My last visit was for a burning smell inside car upon idling and most noticeable after an oil change at Luther. Was told "it's time to get new brakes" and they found nothing about burning smell. Fast forward to today - I decided to go to another independent mechanic and they addressed the burning smell, are doing active research on possible oil leaks and said "Your brakes look fine". Nothing is worse than feeling like I'm getting wrong information and even possibly not truthful.

I was happy with my experience. I think my repairs were a touch overpriced, but expected for a dealership. My original issue could not be replicated, but I wasn't charged for the diagnostic fee which was the right thing to do. The staff were excellent. Very cordial and friendly. I'll return

I brought my CX-5 in for its first oil change, given that the car was purchased from Luther Mazda of Kansas City. My intention was to ensure my car received professional care at a Mazda authorized service center. However, I must express my disappointment with the service I received, as it fell considerably short of my expectations. Upon receiving my car back, I noticed oil spillage on the engine cover. This was a rather unexpected occurrence for me, as even during low-cost oil changes at Walmart, their technicians consistently clean up any oil residue. To compound matters, the windshield washer fluid had not been refilled. Prior to bringing my car in, the "low-level windshield washer fluid" alert had already appeared on the cluster. Surprisingly, this alert persisted even after the service, leaving me with no choice but to approach the front desk once again to rectify the oversight. Ironically, the inspection report provided to me marked the windshield washer fluid level as green, indicating that it was satisfactory. This incongruity leads me to question the thoroughness of their inspection process, as they may have merely checked off each item on the list without conducting a comprehensive evaluation of my vehicle's actual condition. To my astonishment, I was informed that the work had been carried out by a trainee. My reason for entrusting my car to a professional service center was to avoid such lapses, rather than subjecting my vehicle to the inexperience of an irresponsible novice. Given the lack of responsibility and professionalism exhibited in the handling of my car, I have decided that I will never bring my car to Luther Mazda of Kansas City for any services in the future. When seeking maintenance for my vehicle, I expect a certain standard of care and expertise that this particular service center failed to deliver.

If you're not under warranty through Mazda, there is zero reason to have work done on your car here, and it will cost nearly double anywhere else. I brought my car in with a check engine light. Preliminary inspection indicated that cylinder 3 and 4 were misfiring and mechanic recommended new coils and plugs for those cylinders, along with a flush of the ignition system. Their initial quote for this was $1,300, which is absolutely insane for that work on a 10 year old car. Haley, the delightful person that "helped" me, was snarky throughout the entire process and didn't offer much of any help or guidance whatsoever as to what was necessary to get the car running, and what was elective. To top it off, I ordered a tow cover cap ($18 part), and Haley stated it would be $15 to mail it to my house. I will never give this place another dime.

In my nearly 50 years, I’ve likely purchased 20 plus vehicles from dealerships and unknown number from private sellers. When I tell you that this dealership has the most professional and relaxed environment - I mean it. I’ve been working with Tim and Megan on a possible purchase and both of these professionals have been an absolute pleasure. I really appreciate that approach and they’re obviously experts on the industry and product they sell. As the process of this purchase unfolds, I’ll update this review and I fully expect that I’ll be just as impressed driving off the lot in a new Mazda as I was when I first shook Megan’s hand. Keep up the good work Luther! I’ve got a line of kids waiting to turn 16, and I’d love to put each of them in a safe, dependable, and enjoyable new Mazda. So far, I’d even consider one for myself. UPDATE: We bought a new Mazda and couldn’t be happier. Everybody was great to work with.

Visited this dealership for service today. Service was great and friendly. My advisor was actually visiting from Lee's Summit store. The waiting room was nice, they offer complimentary coffee and water, and have nice big TV with remote. There is even a smaller waiting room for kids with bean bags and their own TV. Though I live in Olathe I don't care for Tumminia's location and service and I'm going to return!

We made an appointment to look at a vehicle. We received an appointment reminder. We showed up and the vehicle was not ready. The salesman actually said he had no idea where the vehicle was. Next, we started talking numbers. With every offer we negotiated we were constantly reminded we were making the manager mad. We decided to leave with an offer. We go home and do a little research only to find that they overpriced our taxes by $1200. When we called to clarify, the salesman said he would get back to us with the correct price only to allow 24 hours with no returned call. These people are not professional in the way they conduct their business and the salesman needs major training. Negotiations are just part of buying vehicles but throwing pity parties isn’t going to get two very financially sound individuals to buy your rig. The last thing the gentleman told us was if Luther Mazda was a successful dealership they could accept every offer. Do better Luther Mazda. *****EDITED TO ADD****** Tim, the manager promptly reached out and addressed all concerns that we had. We DID follow through with our vehicle purchase from Luther Mazda. Loyd, our salesman, and Tim made the buying process seamless. Thank you Gentlemen and Luther Mazda for taking care of a military family!

Initially I was very impressed with their attention to detail and thoroughness. Unfortunately when I picked up my car from a repair my windshield was cracked and radio/Nav screen was damaged!!!! The service rep stated that the winds hold was cracked when it was dropped off. It was not but I suppose it was possible that there was a small imperfection that spread with the heat. Fine, not great, but ok. The screen he also said was damaged prior to drop of. Ok?!? So when I asked if it was covered under warranty he said the warranty expired when the car was in the shop. I said well it was documented prior to the warranty expiring. He said I didn’t bring it up so I was out of luck. Addendum: Luther reached out to me regarding my review within 24 hours…apparently they took over ownership. What a pleasant experience. They apologized about my previous experience, and informed me that they have a new customer service staff, but the same great technicians. They Offered me a loaner car, fixed my windshield, fixed my screen, and took care of a known recall at no charge! I am blown away at their customer service and will be using them for all of my Mazda needs.
