I was referred to Madison. I took my ML Mercedes there because my check engine light was on. David, the owner, called me the same day and (He) told me that the cost of repair would be about $500. I advised him to go on and do the explained repair. I said, "Will this solve the issue with the check engine light?" David replied yes. I replied, then go ahead and repair the vehicle. Later that day, I noticed that the evening was getting late and nobody from the shop had called me. Therefore, I called back and asked for David. He told me that because I had taken my car somewhere else, whoever had looked at the vehicle cleared the codes, and therefore, he wasn't able to get a proper reading. Therefore, after installing the new part, the engine light didn't go off because there were further issues that, at first, he didn't detect. I asked David how much it would cost to fix the newly detected issues, and he replied about $2400. I told him to let me think about it and I would call him back. I called back several hours later and spoke to the lady up front and told her that I was coming to pick up my vehicle so don't do any more work. My wife and I walked in, ready to pay the $500 dollars that David and I had agreed upon, and the lady said that the cost was not $500 but rather $735 and some change. I was like nooooo way, that is not what David told me over the phone. She began to explain that David and the techs had checked the vehicle and noticed that if they installed another sensor then the check engine light would go off and therefore they went on and replaced the sensor without my approval. I told David that I am not liable for that repair because that is not what he and I had previously talked about. David looked me straight into my eyes and lied and said that he never spoke with me. I said your name is David right, then I said man you know we talked, and I will take you to court on this if I have to."" At that time, David told me, "Sense, you just mentioned court, then I'm not talking to you anymore." The two ladies up front started trying to explain to me about how there was a break down in communication with the shop and them and that is how I was being over charged for something that was never approved. (David, the owner, is standing their listening and still refused not to say a word acting like a child). I told the ladies that the company should eat the extra cost because the work was not authorized. She told me no!! but what they would do is drive the car back into the shop and take the new part off, and put the old part back on. (What the hell) I didn't trust them going back under my hood, and therefore, I said, "ok, I will pay the entire balance." The lady then says to me, because of this issue we can't take your credit card and it must be CASH ( lucky i had cash on me) Prior to me handing her the cash, I asked if we all could go out and crank the car up to assure that the check engine light was off, she said, we are not going to give you any keys until you pay us in full. I replied, "What happens if I pay you and crank the car up and the check engine light is still on and the car is running bad?" She said we want do anything else. I told her, this place is a ripp off." What you were supposed to say to a paying customer is that I appreciate your business, and we will do anything needed to fix the problem. I got my keys, and we drove peacefully off of the lot. David was very cocky, arrogant, ruled, and the most unprofessional, uncaring, unconcerned person that you can ever meet. Do not take your vehicle to these people or you will be highly disappointed. All I wanted was honesty and integrity, and yet all I got was ignorance. Don't be fooled......

I would definitely not recommend these people for electrical work. I spoke with David prior to bringing my vehicle in. I had 2 issues that I wanted them to address I was told there would be a diagnostic fee right at 200.00 just rounding it off. But they wanted to charge a separate diagnostic fee for the 2nd issue. After confronting David about the previous conversation he boldly denied he worded the fee as such. You'd at least expect better customer service from someone that's high up in the company but instead he insisted on comparing his business to a Dr. Office, contractor, electrician. He was arrogant, confrontational, no bed side manner. I told him he had a dissatisfied customer and have bad customer service; he said we got the best customer and we been doing business "X" amount of years very arrogantly. Electrical issues beware!!

10/30/2024...IN RESPONSE TO THE OWNERS RESPONSE to the review that I gave Madison Automotive after this terrible experience with my vehicle on 9/27/2024. NOT SO! According to my photos my Check Engine light was not on. The only light that was coming on periodically was my "Service Now" indicator light and that's suppose to come on when it's time for my annual service. Along with the Check Engine light issue, my gas cap was broken (the plastic that holds and help secure the gas cap), finger prints were all over my gas tank door as well as some streaks that indicated something ran down the side of my car from the gas tank! Ridiculous! This place was recommended to me so I took my vehicle for annual service. I received a call from one of the ladies at the front desk telling me that my car was ready and everything looked good and the car checked out well and she gave me my total bill that included an oil change for over $600. But when I made it to pick my car up, as I was in the process of paying one of the front receptionist went and got my car and brought it around ( instead of the technician). When i got ready to leave with my car I noticed the check engine light was on and wouldn't go off (which over the year that I've had my car the chech engine light was never on) so I went back inside to inquire about it and that's when the lies and attitudes begin. Instead of them fully servicing my car, they only did an expensive oil change (and I'm not sure if they truly did that). They didn't even do a simple thing as correcting the tire pressure which should have been a part of annual service maintenance. David and both of the front desk receptionist went back where my car was and ran a diagnostic on my car that he said would take 45 minutes, but they returned back in less than 15 minutes 😳. Now they are trying to convince me that I have all these issues going on with my car and I would have to bring it back for further diagnostic and repair. No the HELL I won't!!! They are trying to make a lot of money off me. I'm taking it legitimate servicer instead, but no one in the Covington Pike area. I regret ever taking my car to this place 😩! I'll get my car back right, but I will never recommend this place to anyone I know! Because of this situation, little do they know they just lost a lot of business through this transaction!!! The lady with the Bentley!!!

Would not recommend. Spent $4,702.48 for them to fix my AC and they couldn’t. Other shop figured it out for $1,700. Being robbed at gunpoint would’ve felt better than this experience. They were very polite as they were taking my money though.

Wow! These guys are good ! I had my Vette at 2 other shops in Memphis for the check engine light on and neither could find the problem. Of course, they replaced a part, said it was fixed and charged me tho...Madison fixed it first time, it was a wire broken....Thx Madison!

I appreciate the work done to my vehicle but I don't like that I had to take off work for an extra day and more than half of another. What made this worse is that I did not receive a call updating me about my vehicle and its status. I had to call and my pickup time changed about 3 times (from Thursday evening to Friday morning, from Friday morning to Monday morning, and from Monday morning to Monday afternoon). I understand that things happen but I should have been notified when the change happened not when I get to the building or when I have to call.

I had a great experience with Madison Automotive! David, Dustin, and Savannah were all helpful in getting my car back on the road after my alternator quit working! Omg oh I could give 0 stars I would . 5/7/24 @ 8:30 am I dropped my car off Paid an 889.58 for complete lube ,oil & filter service, coolant flush & r&r cabin air filter. Now I brought my car for a maintenance checkup which is usual for me because I work with my personal car so I drive it a lot . May 9 a light came on warning coolant levels low please check owners manual. I have never seen this so I panic & take it back only for them to charge me to check what they was suppose to had fixed 2 days prior. I refuse to pay so I ride up the street to Autozone guess what no coolant is in my car. Like dry . I’m missing work today because Madison Automotive played with my car & I’m out of $889.58 . Please don’t use this company at least other companies will check their work if they made a mistake these white mf will do you bad especially if your black.

Racist, racist racist racist at Madison automotive. The people at this place if you are black will be happy to take your money when you first bring your car to them but please don’t have a problem with the work that they have done. When I brought my car back to them not even two days after they worked on it then The racism comes out. These people got very Hostile when I brought my car back to them explaining to them what was going on with it after they just worked on it. So to David and the lady (trash )that sit behind the desk thanks for showing your true colors. I will never go to that place again or recommend anybody else to go there. I really can’t believe how I was treated at Madison automotive today. Now I know how my people somewhat felt in the late 1800s. We have to do better POEPLE together as a whole and not a COLOR.
