BUYER BEWARE! I am not one to write reviews, in fact I think this is my 3rd, but I do want to warn people about Matt’s Auto and how I was absolutely gouged yesterday! In my past experience Matt has been a very helpful Mechanic and really tried to help you, but not necessarily the best but he tries, because in my situation he couldn’t diagnose a starter problem with the car being in his shop two times, and by the way you better have another car because it takes a very very long time to get your car back. I had a few things replaced on my car, the starter, which was the issue, alternator, which he told me was the issue and it wasn’t, and a small starter battery which might take a few hours each at most to replace but I received a bill for over $850 for just labor as I supplied all the parts, and was shocked. I looked at this and immediately new he just padded his bill. I did ask how much his rate was now and he said $135 an hour, being an accountant and financial guy I now numbers and this was not adding up! I also was charged over $80 to scan a code to check why my engine light, which was the first time I had that charge, by the way it takes 5 minutes to scan that code, which was on, and to boot I used my debit card and was charged an additional 4% transaction fee! Not even ATM’s charge that!! Please be aware of being scammed. I will be reporting this to the BBB as well! Again I am not one to complain but this was intentional! Sorry to report not a trustworthy place anymore!

Matt's Auto has been taking care of my Toyotas, Chrysler, and Pontiac for years. Matt's very knowledgeable in domestic cars, especially Chevrolet, and Japanese cars. Matt's prices are fair and he's a true honest business man. No wonder he's been in business for +30 years! 4.75 out of 5

Straight shooters, fair prices, owner operated, good at many areas of autocare. Working for long term relationships not a quick buck. We have done several repairs and have friends that used them for years. I like Matt and his business. I recommend him to my friends. Update: I found Matt about 12 years ago...he is still "my mechanic".

Matt and his team are fantastic. It is SO hard to find honest, reliable and available mechanics who do above average work and are so kind and down to earth. Having a vehicle break down is stressful enough without having to worry about finding someone you can trust to fix it. We will always be a customer of Matt's so long as he is in business. I don’t actually have the words to totally explain how karma has worked in my favor, or if karma has anything to do with this, this young man has went gone above and beyond for my baby( truck ) the work is impeccable, I broke down in SanAntonio, I’ve had her for quite sometime (34years) yet she’s never let me down, I’d have like to get it down yesterday (Sunday) I called this morning (Monday) 06:57 the phone was answered, I was surprised (I was sitting waiting at the shop until Bussiness hours open) I explained to him what it was doing he said he opens at 08:00 and he’ll be here, well, I talked to a few other places and was prepared for the outcome, although I was trying to get home from working four months straight, I came to a halt because of this, this is a small yet mighty shop, the technicians/ mechanics truly know what integrity is, I’m simply blown away by the automotive knowledge of these guys have, I’m certain moving forward that I now know of an awesome shop in SanAnton I would have given 20⭐️’s for their automotive knowledge as well as understanding and wisdom, I personally believe these guys have a lot integrity and character

We've been working with Matt with our cars for a few years now and he's one of the few mechanics around that's both an owner-operator and is also a straight shooter who doesn't try to pull a fast one over on you and does good work at a reasonable price.
