This was my second time to use Midas for a full synthetic oil change. These guys are incredible service was prompt, efficient and very reasonably priced. Service a writer was courteous and very helpful and answered every question that I might have. Will definitely use them every time I'm in Albuquerque.

18 month check in: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ My car is still running fine. Midas is a terrible company who hires managers (Michael Smith) who will try to scam you out of as much money as they can. You'll go in for an oil change and they'll falsely claim your transmission is shot and you need to spend $12,500+, and when you reach out to Midas corporate they will do nothing to help the customer or make it right. They don't care about customers. Do not come here. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ One year update: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ It has been an entire year since I was lied to and told that I needed to spend $12,500 + interest to replace my transmission by Michael Smith, who claimed my transmission was on its last legs and was going to lock up soon. I drive my car almost daily and it still runs great. I've had no additional work done to it. It's not okay to try to rip customers off like this. This was my most helpful review of 2023 according to Google. I would be skeptical of any five-star review this location gets because people I've spoken to know the terrible reputation that this Midas / Michael Smith have. This location needs to be investigated and Midas corporate needs to step in and deal with dishonest managers. I know that I will never go to another Midas as long as I live and I will encourage others to do the same. Midas managers really are the bottom of the barrel when it comes to having basic human decency towards others. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Original review: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ As of writing this review, I have reached out to Midas Corporate 2-3 times with no response so I wanted to detail what happened to me so others are aware. I went in for an oil change on 04/14/2023 and left my car keys with Michael Smith and went home. Michael called me about 30-40 minutes later and told me "We could barely get your car into the garage because the transmission was acting up so bad." I have never had transmission issues. On the phone Michael told me that it would cost $7,500-10,000 to fix, in person just a few minutes later he increased the upper limit of the price to $12,500, a 25% increase! A tech drove me around the block and kept pointing out that my transmission was in bad shape with every shift. I didn't notice anything out of the ordinary. Michael also told me my transmission fluid was low and he wouldn't top it off as it would make my transmission worse which I later found out, from another mechanic, is inaccurate. A month or two prior I had my car extensively checked out at Firestone and they did a few things including looking at the transmission and a transmission flush. Immediately after leaving Midas, I made another appointment at Firestone and told them all that Michael had told me about how my transmission was in real bad shape and could lock up at any time now. Firestone took a look at my transmission and drove my car around for about 15 minutes, and said nothing was wrong with it, they even topped off my transmission fluid for me! I also wanted to point out that Kelley Blue book states that a fair price to pay to replace a transmission in my vehicle is between $4837 and $5201 (parts + labor). Where does $12,500 come from, literally over double! This was an attempt to scam me and I didn't fall for it. Edit: Shortly after posting my review, Midas responded with a link. I've already reported this to Midas corporate two or three times and they have done nothing to resolve this issue. Which is why I am leaving this review here so that others will know to avoid this business. It's disgusting and heartbreaking that Michael would try to scam someone out of as much money as he tried to do to me. Saying "sorry" doesn't cut it. The only reason he is "sorry" is because I'm coming forward and being vocal about it. Where is the integrity? There's a reason this Midas has the lowest possible rating from the better Business bureau. Stay far away. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I had my oil changed along with my spark plugs. D’Wayne did an amazing job, keeping me informed of their progress on my car and I was impressed and happy with the quickness in which they got it done. I was also impressed with the cleanliness of the entire shop, including the bay. Definitely will recommend to a friend!

Michael Smith is an exceptional store manager for this Midas location. Full restoration of my Camero and so far so good. The customer service is genuine and the mechanical work on both my vehicles is as good as can be. I won't go to any other shop for my vehicles.

I want to say how happy I am that I brought my vehicle to this location. I tried twice calling the location on Juan Tabo. No answer first try, second attempt only to get put on hold for 25 minutes. Can you imagine keeping a possible client on hold that long. Notif you're a professional. Mr. Renso at Midas on email on the other hand is a professional. He answered the phone on the second ring. He was able to make me an appointment at 4:00 on Wednesday. I called at 10:00. Him and his mechanic did a great job. They definitely earned my business. I will recommend to everyone that I know. Thank you Renso and mechanic.

DWayne was friendly and professional - in addition to my oil change, he looked over my vehicle and let me know what potential maintenance would be needed in the near future. He works hard to not just provide service, but to build relationships with customers - and this customer appreciates that!

Has an appointment, took about an hour. What I really appreciated was that there was NO upsell. They just did what I wanted and I left. No guy with a pH strip telling me my brake fluid desperately need changing, no push to replace my air filter. Just an oil change and on my way. That alone gets them high ratings from me.
