On December 1, 2024, I visited Midas to address several issues with my Cadillac Escalade. The vehicle displayed brake service warnings, traction control, and Stabilitrak alerts, along with a squealing sound that I suspected was due to worn brakes. Joseph Rosario greeted me with professionalism and care. Due to their busy schedule, he suggested scheduling an appointment for the following morning, which we did. December 2, 2024: I arrived early as the third customer of the day and was again met by Mr. Rosario, who remembered my name and vehicle details—a great demonstration of excellent customer service. After handing over my keys, I waited in the lobby. About an hour into my visit, Mr. Rosario called me over to explain the diagnostic findings. The $165 diagnostic scan revealed: The right front caliper was seized. The hydraulic brake fluid was near empty. The front brake pads were completely worn out. I authorized the repairs after confirming with Mr. Rosario said that no additional paperwork was required before work began. However, I asked if I could source parts from Advance Auto Parts, located just across the street. Mr. Rosario explained that Midas does not use customer-supplied parts due to warranty concerns. During my time in the lobby, I observed a man wearing a two-tone blue coat that I initially assumed worked for Advance Auto Parts. He was carrying what appeared to be parts, including boxes for rotors and brake pads. He entered the Midas garage directly without stopping at the front desk, where other customers typically check in. Upon reflection, it’s unclear whether this individual was a worker from Advance Auto Parts or a Midas employee wearing a jacket over his uniform. However, the interaction strongly indicated that Midas and Advance Auto Parts collaborate on parts procurement, raising questions about why customers are discouraged from providing their own parts when Midas sources them from the same place. The repair work began at 10:38 AM and concluded with a road test by 12:26 PM. The total parts cost was $229.97, and labor totaled $525.50 (including the $165 diagnostic fee and $180/hour labor for two hours). Mr. Rosario provided me with a $40 manager’s discount, which I appreciated. However, it’s worth noting that my military discount could have reduced the parts cost further if I had been allowed to source them myself. Additionally, I wasn’t asked to sign any agreements before the work began, but I was required to sign twice at the end—once on the service description and once for payment acknowledgment. Presenting this information upfront would have added transparency to the process. Pros: Excellent customer service, especially from Mr. Rosario. Timely and quality repairs. Manager’s discount provided as a goodwill gesture. Cons: Lack of transparency regarding parts sourcing and warranty policies. Ambiguity around the collaboration between Midas and Advance Auto Parts. No upfront service agreement was presented before work began. Despite these concerns, Midas resolved my vehicle's issues effectively and professionally. I appreciate Mr. Rosario’s attentiveness and the team’s quality work. Thank you for your service!

Great mechanics but their prices are extremely high. This is now my last choice for my automotive service work.

Don't come here! I took my truck here for an oil change and a diagnostic. They forgot to actually put oil in my truck and resulted in my engine blowing.

Midas at Station St is great! Very friendly, professional, quick, and knowledgeable staff every time I come 😍

Awesome service- very thorough, courteous, cost efficient, and timely. Great location!!

Nov 07, 2024

Booked appointment online for 1-3 for inspection. I get there and they say at least a few hours. They had to accept the appointment a few hours prior so they knew they were behind by then. Would not recommend.

Everybody here is so friendly and helpful but Jake is literally an angel! He is so good he makes you feel like you owe him. I’ve been here couple of times so far and I will never ever consider to go somewhere else.

Excellent service, no long waiting time and friendly staff

Had brakes checked for free. Was given good advice. I am making an appt for inspection right now.

Helpful with my vehicle as best they can. I still need help with it but it's because my vehicle is old

I live in an area where they randomly decided to car about car inspections. Knowing mine was past due, I was ticketed in front of my own him for past inspections. Because of my job it was crucial I got it fixed that day. Joe, the gentleman on the desk was the one who first took my call. He explained that they could get me in that day and even went so far to explain the changes going on that made this random ticket appear. When I got my car to the shop, Joe was already waiting on me so he could take it in. The inspection found a few extra things that needed fixed and because of the surprise urgency, funds were low. Joe explained in detail all of my options and even helped me get approved for financing. This is my second year in a row I’ve come to this location for my inspection needs and Joe and the rest of the staff is why I can I will certainly be back. As someone that works in hotels, I understand how easy it is for someone to come on reviews to complain but rarely does anyone leave a review about how excellent their interactions were and this experience was so above and beyond to make sure I was taken care of that I highly suggest this place be taken into consideration and used when “inspection shopping”. Thank you Joe.

My mom and i needed an inspection and Joe Rosario gave us the best experience we could ask for. Was very knowledgeable and patient. Will definitely being coming back and telling my friends about Midas. 😊

Oil change took over an hour. Just go to Valvoline or pennzoil… they would save you time!

Appointment was flexible for me. Car completed in a timely fashion. Thanks so much to Samuel with great customer service skills and professionalism in explaining important details also providing rational options for me. Went above and beyond for me.

I should have read the reviews before coming here. I called earlier in the week about getting an inspection sticker for a brand-new car I just purchased out of state. I let them know I could come in after work in the week if it would be better than the weekend. The gentlemen on the phone told me Saturday would be fine and booked me an appointment for 11am. I got there and was told I would need an inspection in PA even though they inspected it in NC 2 weeks earlier when I purchased the car, paperwork showed it, Carfax shows the record of it with my VIN #, etc. But alright, fine, no problem. 2.5 hours later we noticed my vehicle hadn't been moved. NO ONE communicated anything to me, I asked what the progress on my vehicle was for a basic inspection - they THEN pulled my vehicle in AFTER I asked. Who knows how long it would have been if I didn't say something. We watched multiple people who checked in after us get their services and leave before my basic state inspection (mind you, it's a 2024 vehicle) I watched them pull it in the shop and 10 minutes later they told me they were done (after I asked the guy how long it would be and he told me an additional 20-30 minutes) The lack of communication is astounding to me, they said the vehicle before me was a 10am appointment and took longer - when I questioned what was the point of me making an appointment for it to still take that long. I wouldn't have been so upset if anyone would have communicated that during my 2.5 hour wait. Then for it to take TEN MINUTES to inspect my vehicle?? That seems very suspicious, they had no problem charging me $90 for those 10 minutes though. I will never be back to this location - I advise others look at other companies in the area for such a simple service. Based on other reviews I'm not the only one who has had this type of experience with a huge lack of customer service at this location.

Brought my Rav 4 in to have the brakes changed, while driving home, the car made a horrible crunching noise when braking. Took it straight back and they apologized and fixed it right away, over the course of the next few weeks, I realized the car wasn’t braking right and that they hadn’t bled the brake lines. At this point I didn’t bother taking it back and I will never consider going back again. Give midas 10/10 if you want to bring them a safe car and have them turn it into a death trap for you.

Sep 07, 2024

Ever since this place got new management it’s been great, Joe & Sam made me feel very comfortable with leaving my car there. I needed my brakes replaced because they were getting bad, I’ll definitely be coming back again when I need more work done!!

Sep 07, 2024

Failed safety inspection for my control arm and quoted over 600 bucks. Second opinion from a different shop with better reviews said he didn't see anything wrong with it. I don't trust the Midas touch. All they touch is your wallet.

Sep 07, 2024

Joe and Sam have been an excellent help with my Mercedes, I was experiencing issues with power steering leakage and needed a tune up, however too many dealerships were denying me due to the Mercedes equipment needed. Joe was able to talk me through what was needed to perform the work on my car and handled it within hours! Excellent service !

Sep 07, 2024

So my car was making a weird sound that I didn’t recognize so I brought it in and Joe and Sam really helped me understand the innnerworking of my car a bit more. While letting me know in what ways they could help me and I could help my own car in my own time.Very much appreciate the advice and help!

Sep 07, 2024

Stopped in about a week or so ago, spoke to someone named Joe up front about different noises my car was making. I know nothing about cars but he was able to help me understand the problems & had my car fixed pretty fast. Thank you so much, I will definitely be coming back

This was a decent experience turned into a nightmare. I originally went to this Midas to get my rear rotors and calipers replaced. They did a decent job with that. When I got the car back I noticed that metal caps had been placed on the tire valves. I have never used nor was I even aware that metal caps existed for tire valves. I've always had and used plastic caps. So, when I saw them I was confused but assumed they replaced all my caps because I was missing two. Last week when I went to put air in my tires, I realized that I could not remove the caps. I immediately called Midas. They claimed that they didn't do it but the metal caps were not on the valves when I dropped it off but were on the car when I picked it up. So, I took it back anyway just so they could be removed. They can't get them off and state that my valves would be damaged if they tried to remove them. I left and came back a few days later and stated that I needed them to get the caps off because my tire sensor is blinking, which means I needed to add air to one of the tires. When I take it in, they remove two of the caps and claim that the valves are damaged and I would need to pay about $550 to replace all of them. I stated that they put the caps on and the guy who didn't work on my car insists that they didn't so I left and am in the process of filing a formal complaint. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE. THEY ARE NOT A BUSINESS RUN WITH ANY INTEGRITY.

Very thorough service and texted me when it was ready. I’ll be back.

When i went to get my mothers car checked out, Joe and Sam helped me to feel comfortable trusting them with her car. They checked out her suspension, oil levels, and her breaks and were able to get them working as if they were brand new!! I know exactly where im going when the car starts to act up again

I brought my 2017 Nissan Altima in for a state inspection. The state inspection took over 2 hours and I had to get a lightbulb replaced and was charged 24x the cost of the light for the labor. As I was leaving the shop, I noticed my steering wheel was “different”. Due to the fact that I was angry for how long my inspection took, I left. It wasn’t until I arrived home that I inspected it more closely. My steering wheel is soft and malleable like putty now. The steering wheel was not like that before I brought it in to Midas on Station St. I called the store back to ask about it and they asked me to bring my car in again. I drove back to the store and the technicians asked “what was wrong with the steering wheel” after examining my car for about 5 minutes. I showed them what I meant because I was dumbfounded that they didn’t understand what was wrong. After discussing with the technician that worked on my car, the manager(I think) of the store told that “the sun” could have melted the glue that held the foam in place underneath the steering wheel. This is impossible for so many reasons. My car was in the shop for the entire time and when I got in it 10 minutes after they were finished, the steering wheel was like that. I asked if the steering wheel could potentially snap then and cause a fatal accident to which I was told “yes it could be dangerous”. They then told me there was nothing they could do (it was 4:30 PM on a Saturday and the technician who inspected my car was in his car ready and giddy to leave work). I reached out to the district manager and hope to get this all rectified. Until then, I will not recommend this Midas to anyone in the Pittsburgh area.

I came in at 8am for a state inspection and an oil change. I was told the state inspections were by appointment only. Fair, no problem, I made an appointment for 2pm and came back later that day. I had to wait in their lobby since I did not have a ride. I waited 2 hours before realizing they had not even looked at my car yet. There was no communication at all, no "hey sorry we are running behind or short staffed this might take longer than usual" or anything like that. Also, why make me set up an appointment and bring in the car at 2pm if you're not even going to work on it until 4pm? I literally wasted 2 hours waiting in their lobby while nothing was being done. It took another hour and a half for the inspection and once I received my car back at 5:30pm I noticed the oil change was not made. Granted I was not charged for it, but I told the guy at the front desk TWICE that I also wanted an oil change. When I called back they said it was too late for an oil change since they close at 6pm. Now I have to come back, which I will not. I will go to Jiffy Lube since apparently customer service is nonexistent at this location. In short I waited for 3 and half hours for an inspection that usually takes 30 to 40 minutes and I did not even get the oil change that I also asked for. I understand having to wait longer if I show up and there are several cars ahead of me but why make me set up an appointment if that is not going matter. A little communication could have also helped.

Liars! Lazy! Low Quality Work! Requested full synthetic and tire rotation. Watched my car the entire time in shop being worked on. Didn’t rotate tires, called them on it, pulled back into bay and finally rotated. Got bill that said I got blended oil, ordered full synthetic. Pulled bay into bay, they left car there 15 minutes, never touched it and pretended they changed to full synthetic. I was livid how brazenly they will lie straight to my face, Honeybadger Midas don’t give af. I didn’t even say anything cause I knew blowing up was going to ruin my day. Thanks for nothing Midas! This was the day I vowed to learn how to do my own car work.

Slowest place on the strip here. I didn't know that the appt doesn't matter. An inspection shouldn't take 4 hrs.

Smh … I don’t know where to start with this place . First off I’m a single mom and it’s hard for me to trust people with my livelyhood(my car). So on July 4th my wheel almost fell off while me and my kids were driving. I sent them my car July5th for an online appointment (keep in mind it is now July 19th,and I’m just getting my car back) so moral of the story is , they said I needed a new wheel… they ordered the wrong wheel twice or like he said they “recieved” the wrong wheel twice(first a black one then the wrong one all together) they never called me and kept me up to date . I called them to check on my car. By the time I got them on the phone they told me they ordered 2 incorrect wheels (that I was gonna end up paying $600 for anyway. So he said he’s gonna call them and order the correct wheel. Never called me back over a few days ,I called them. Then he tells me the wheel people never answered. So I ask him why they didn’t call me when they got the black one and offer to put that on? By then I’m driving a rental for over a week that I couldn’t afford on top of having to pay them at the end. So he says he’s gonna try and order the black one back(all my wheels are chrome). Days later he says the wheel people they work with or giving him the run around.so I’m on the last day of the rental that I can’t afford as a single mother on my own. I go find a wheel myself and bring it to Midas to put on. And guess what all I could find was a black wheel. They should of called me when they received the black wheel .On top of that I told him I had a warranty and he told me my warranty wouldn’t help . Guess what called my warranty and they said wheel bearings were covered ! Smh so now I had to pay $600 for the whole wheel situation on top of having to find my own wheel for $250 on top of 15 days of paying for a rental car!And they didn’t even feel bad or try to rectify the situation! All he could say was he wasn’t the one dealing with me , the one dealing with me is no longer working there.I’m so disappointed in them … I don’t think I’ll ever trust Midas again!and on top of that before the situation of not knowing where I would get a wheel from ,I asked them to check my AC (which they charged me $200 something dollars for) mean while I know I had a leak ,they were supposed to tell me how much to fix it. But instead charged me 2something dollars and sent me in my way smh… They could of tried to make the situation better… I’ve spent so much of my money at this Midas … I knew I was paying too much but I didn’t care because they were convent in the past… I will no longer be going to any MIDAS

Aug 07, 2024

Very nice and professional staff. Identified my problem quickly and had it fixed in no time during what I could see was a very busy day for them. I will do business with them again.

Aug 07, 2024

Horrible! They take out my filters and check everything (something I did not ask for) and tried to upsell me. Then they leave oil marks on my glove compartment and Grey splotches on my dashboard! A 20 minute oil change turned into an hour because they're looking at everything OTHEN THAN just changing the oil. Do not recommend. Jiffy lube is better.

Aug 07, 2024

Inspection report was very thorough and will definitely come back here in the future. Great communication as well to help me understand what was necessary versus recommended for my vehicle.

Aug 07, 2024

Went to Midas because I was having an issue with my exhaust and they were the only location that could fit me in within the same week. I paid $1,200 for a shoddy job and for me to be poisoned by my own car because of their handiwork. Told me they'd replace all the exhaust pipes due to them completely rusting out, only for me to have an issue arise 2 weeks later and have to take it to another shop. Turns out they failed to replace/correctly weld the pipe connecting to the catalytic converter, causing CARBON MONOXIDE to seep into the cabin, leaving me sick for weeks. The employees are nice enough but I will not be returning and suggest you find a small, reputable shop to do any work past an oil or tire change.

Jul 07, 2024

I waited 3 and a half hours for my car to be inspected. I would not have gone to the establishment if I knew it would take that long.

Tae was very professional and kept me updated throughout the whole process . He provided me recommendations for my car and was very knowledgeable. I highly recommend!
