First time at Midtown. I already knew what was most likely needed, so there wasn't any surprises. I was impressed from the moment I walked in and was greeted with a pleasant smile and by name. They are extremely efficient and have one person examine your car beforehand and another after the maintenance or repairs are completed. They also accept the Costco membership 15% discount coupons, which is an added perk if you are a Costco member. I will be back.

Found this place on a little bit of accident when I had an urgent issue with a piece of my car dragging on the road. They were not only immediately able to assist, but also for a very fair deal. I've brought my car back several times now for oil changes and other maintenance and always been very pleased. I've both dropped it off and stayed while my car's been worked on and both have been done in very timely manner. I never feel like they're trying to upsell or pull a fast one on me. Will continue to bring my car back here and recommend.

Highly recommend this place for anyone with car trouble. Had a good experience w/ Brian who has been helping me out for a bit. He was able to perform a major repair on my vehicle without any charge, which I doubt any other mechanic in the Chicago area would do.

Brian and team did an awesome job getting my BMW 550i MSport back on the road in no time! I had to replace one rear tire with a brand that Brian normally doesn’t stock and had the new tire on my car the next day. They even had the car washed when I picked it up. I’ll be bringing my BMW back to Brian and his team to fix any more mechanical issues that may pop up.

Everyone was great and the work is quick and good. The team is too aggressive with the recommended upsell. Please help them be clearer on what is needed vs. what is recommended. I have a bit more experience than most and have twice ask to clarify and turned down costly recommended and my car runs just fine. This time it was $900 replacement that was not needed and again I said no and the car runs great. What they did fix was needed and they did a good job. Please be cleared with your customer the difference between must fix and recommended. Thank you

Excellent customer service, outstanding and reliable staff, and incredible prices. I was fortunate to receive exceptional service at Midtown Auto Repair. The entire team was friendly, polite, and promptly resolved my car issue. My situation was a bit unique. After a wonderful Thanksgiving evening, around 7:00 pm, I started driving back home from Chicago, where my family is, and suddenly heard a strange noise coming from my exhaust. It was rusted and broken. I called Midtown Auto Repair (they were nearby), and they kindly assured me, "Yes, we can take care of it." I drove to the shop that night, and they initially told me the exhaust needed replacing, which couldn't be done overnight as the necessary parts would arrive in the morning. I mentioned that I needed to drive 350 miles back home that night. They said, "Let’s see what we can do." They performed an excellent quick, temporary repair by placing a brace between the broken exhaust parts and sealing it with cement to prevent a smoke leak. This allowed me to drive home safely. The price for the repair was excellent. The team went above and beyond, being incredibly helpful and kind. I am so grateful to everyone there, especially the auto repair owner, Cuco the manager, and all the mechanics. God bless you all!

I am a repeat customer of Midtown Auto Repair and could not be more satisfied with their service. I have always found them to be professional and courteous, and have no complaints about the quality of service. They will also sometimes allow you to keep your car on their lot overnight or for a day or two - as someone who lives downtown and parks their car at a Metra stop, this is very much appreciated as well!

My first visit was this fall to service a work vehicle. The company I worked for has a service contract here and I attributed the great service, initially, thinking because they were a top dollar client. HOWEVER!!!!…I brought my ordinary, everyday self back (on an ordinary day of course) because I’d purchased a new vehicle and wasn’t sure who I could trust to do a thorough job without trying to sell me a bunch of services I didn’t need. THIS IS THE PLACE, LADIES!!!! 🥰🥰 They took my vehicle in nearly immediately and spent about an hour or so with the services, and my vehicle was ready. It was ready and the price was JUST what the service manager quoted…and not a penny more. We spoke about an additional service that he even helped me understand a little better. My vehicle drove much better afterwards and the lights that went off, stayed off! I know very little about cars but I trust the men at this shop to do QUALITY, HONEST work, in a reasonable amount of time!!! I love them….because now I know it wasn’t the service contract, it’s everyday honest business and we are all VIP!

This place is 10/10. I have been to the dealers and all the big time places and have never received the attention to detail, value, and quality service like I have at Midtown. I have had two vehicles now, a 4Runner and GX 460, where the Midtown team have been the only ones to fix the problems I had with alignment and wheel balance. I won’t be going anywhere else besides here for work needed. Talk to Bryan in front. He’s the man.

Excellent service! Skully and Cuco were very helpful in addressing my issue. Very friendly and accurate. I ask for approximately how longs my service would take and then went for a walk and came back a dn bam. Done. So props to the mechanics as well.

Been taking my car here the last two years and they do efficient and quality work. They’ve caught errors from other places I’ve taken my car (like balancing a tire that didn’t get balanced when replaced, while doing a wheel alignment for me). I do walk ins for my oil changes after work and they have me out in 45 minutes or so. Saves me a lot of time and anxiety to have a good repair shop so close.

I was tired of getting ripped off by the dealer on my aging but still running Honda. I tried Midtown Auto Repair - Goodyear, for routine oil change and rear differential fluid. Great experience, friendly and efficient. Got my car back in 1.5 hours as promised unlike the dealer which took all day. I highly recommend this shop.

REVIEW FROM NOVEMBER 2024: Second review for this shop (I had to edit my previous review). Excellent service again. Had a very slow leak. They found two small nails/construction material and plugged both holes. Then they found a third very small leak that could not be fixed. Once we knew the tire could not be salvaged or repaired, they did NOT charge me for this labor. Instead, they recommended that I replace the tire. They suggested I buy a gently used tire instead of a brand new one, which saved me $250+. The tires on my high performance SUV are expensive. I was initially skeptical of buying a used tire. But they showed me which exact tire I would purchase, with images online, including a picture showing tread depth of 8 mm. But I was concerned: where did the tire come from? How did I know it would not have a problem? Midtown Auto Repair assured me that they would (1) visually inspect the tire when it arrived, (2) perform a water dunk test to look for leaks, and (3) provide a 30-day warranty, which you don't even get with some new tires. They ordered the tire, it was delivered the next day, and they installed it with minimal wait when I returned with the car. Selling me a used tire obviously resulted in lower revenues for the shop, and I am glad they looked for ways to save me money. I will definitely return. REVIEW FROM AUGUST 2024: Midtown was conveniently open Sunday afternoon and took my car without wait. A screw/nail in my rear tire was causing a slow leak. Midtown removed the screw and repaired the tire, when another shop said it could not. The other shop felt that screw was too close to the sidewall, but that shop was in a rush and did not inspect the tire closely. The screw was really on the tread. For a very reasonable price, Midtown quickly got me back on the road, so we could continue our Father's Day plans. Thanks!
