I had Mike do a break job that I was shopping around for. Every other shop I went to seemed very pushy and not accommodating to my schedule or my parts preference. Mike was willing to work me in that week. At no point did he make me feel pressure to purchase the brakes that he was sourcing in lieu of supplying my own. I ultimately went with his recommendation. He was able to get my car in and out of the shop the same day. He was in constant communication with me throughout the day and was very pleasant to work with. I have now logged 2000 miles on my car with no issues. I would highly recommend using him for all of your vehicles needs. I will be using him moving forward for all my service or repair work.

Mr. Brooks is a gem on the Northside! Down to earth, straightforward and so easy to work with. He really helped me out on a Saturday, made sure my car was safe to drive.

Amazing work. I had just moved here and needed help with the front of my car and (Mike)fixed it and then fixed an issue I had for months. He didn’t over charge me. This was also on Christmas Eve so I was very thankful!!! I had to grab a card and will continue to come here. I was a bit nervous since I’m a woman and thought he might over charge but his price was fair and did a wonderful job. I wish all mechanics were like this.

I'm so grateful I found a garage that I can go to and not feel taken advantage of! Mike is not only affordable, he took the time to explain what my issue was. I'll continue going to Mikes garage for all of my auto repair needs. 10/10 would recommend!

I can not recommend Mike highly enough, but I sure will try! As a woman who has been driving the same old car for 8 years, I have seen countless mechanics and am used to being treated as though I’m being paranoid about a nonexistent problem. Only to return days later because they have not actually fixed the problem. Not Mike. He conducted himself with the utmost professionalism, listened to my concerns, took the time to drive my car around the block with me to hear the noise it was making himself (even though I had a video prepared due to my negative experiences with mechanics in the past), and showed me the cause of the problem upon returning my vehicle. Thanks Mike for all that you do, and for being so kind while doing it. You rock!

I've been sending my cars to Mike Brooks for about three years. Always a good experience. They are faster to diagnose the problem and fix it than other shops I've been to. The prices seem fair, and they are good about communicating what repair options you have. I recommend this shop.

Was super helpful and walked me through what his thought process was and what the issue was exactly. He ordered a part he thought he needed for my car but it turned out I didn’t need it so he returned it and was honest and told me my issue was a minor glue problem. Did not upcharge me, was Really honest mechanic, one of the best!

Great customer service. Mike really appreciates his customers. He's completely fair with his prices and will not try to con you out of more repairs that that may or may not need taken care of. Fast service if applicable and a great attitude.

Mike and his son are the best, reasonable fair prices, very kind and great service. Took my car in for rear brake pads and Mike was kind enough to straighten out the dent I had in my front fender while he waited for parts, I'd been looking at that eye sore for about a year and figured I'd have to end up taking to a body shop but Mike fixed for little to nothing , his prices have always been the best Thanks Mike

Amazing guy, hands down best mechanic I've ever worked with. I'm always afraid that they'll upsell me on some work that doesn't need to be done, but Mike actually did the opposite telling me the work I thought I needed wasn't even necessary and that it'd just be a small fix instead. On top of that he's just super nice and helpful explaining everything, and he still charges better rates than the 6 other shops I initially called.

Easily the best mechanic in Richmond/maybe even VA. Mike has always taken the time to extend his wisdom and explain in great detail what is happening with my vehicle. He is honest about the cost of parts, cost of labor, and extremely transparent throughout the entire process. This is what I have wanted and have been trying to find in a mechanic. Someone that doesn’t just treat you like a dollar sign. I will not be taking my car anywhere else for the rest of my time in Richmond. Thank you Mike!!

If I could give this place 10 stars, I would. I went to Mike with some internal issues in my car. Mike took his time to check every single issue, and explained them to me in detailed manners. I've been to several different workshops before. And let me say this out loud. Mike's pricing is unbeatable. Finally,I found someone who actually cares abour people and their unexpected issues with cars, rather than just looking for an opportunity to rob them. Mike, you have earned a customer for life. I really hope more people find out about this place and save themselves some💰

Mike was so helpful, informative, and honest about what was going on with my car, and his prices were super reasonable - like, my dad who would rather just do everything himself was shocked at how affordable it was. Not to mention, he was very patient when the schedule changed on the time of arrival for my car because it ended up needing to be towed. I’m so grateful to know that he is in the area and would definitely recommend him in the future!
