I’ve been incredibly lucky to have been introduced to Mira Mesa Auto Techs and my mechanic, Alan. My family friend had been trusting Alan with his cars for over 20 years, and for good reason. Alan is not just a mechanic; he’s a reliable & honest mechanic who always goes the extra mile. Alan is incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and efficient. He takes the time to explain everything clearly, never pressures for unnecessary services, and is always flexible with scheduling. The shop itself is a peaceful place, clean, quiet, and well-maintained. The friendly receptionist is always welcoming, and the free Wi-Fi, water, computers, and workspaces make waiting a breeze. 2 Stars because I had been coming here for 3 years with my ex, who's also Asian like the owners, and received excellent service and care. I just went in by myself today, and my experience was very different being there as a single white woman. I was sent out of the shop to wait, I was not offered an adequate diagnosis (the owner seemed to be in a hurry to get me out of the shop), and was refused a future appointment for service. I have always been polite and warm when visiting their shop. I felt their behavior was very unprofessional, misogynistic, and racist. My observations could be wrong, because I'm not a mind reader, but this ultimately doesn't change that I experienced this treatment. I will not be returning.

I take my car here regularly still! They are friendly and easy to work with, providing suggestions for car fixes and honest communication! The best mechanic I've come across in San Diego: honest, reliable, communicative, family-owned. I have taken all my vehicles here for the last 8 years and have always been given the straight answer, so I appreciate that very much! Take your car here!

The best mechanics in San Diego — full stop. This a great family run business and they have very fair pricing and are HONEST. Their mechanics do excellent, quality work in a timely manner and the woman at the front desk is so incredibly sweet and kind. Only place I’ll be taking my cars moving forward!

Amazing customer service and fair prices! I've been coming here for years. They always take good care of my car. Their lobby waiting area is nice and spacious too. Sometimes I'll bring my laptop and work while I'm waiting for my oil change.

I can’t recommend this place enough! I broke my mirror badly and thought I would have to replace the whole thing. However, they were able to salvage the cover and save me $100 in parts from Honda! It probably would’ve been easier for them to simply replace the whole thing, but they went the extra mile to save me money. The couple who runs this place are so kind, professional, and quick. First mechanics I've ever trusted. Came in for a minor repair, Alan identified a leaky seal and gave a reasonable quote. He explained it wasn't urgent, and honored the quote six months later when I came in for another repair. I'd dislodged a cover on my undercarriage, and Alan repaired it when I was sure it'd need to be replaced. This with be our go to shop for as long as we're here.

Highly recommend! My friend recommended this auto shop for my brakes and I was so impressed! They had front and back brakes done within 4 hours and for a fair price. They also made sure to call and quote me the price before performing any work. So easy to work with and I felt at ease bringing my car in here. We will be back for all of our car needs!

I was recommended this place by a coworker for general maintenance. I had some specific issues identified at another mechanic and dealership, but their description and prices were suspect so I was looking for a second opinion. I came to MM Auto Techs with an appointment and was quickly processed. Alan came out to get specifics from me and then his team went to work. A reasonable amount of time later Alan came out to explain their findings, much more thoroughly than anyone had before. I'm not a car guy, but I try to have a general understanding of them and Alan explained the issues very clearly and in a simple enough format for me to understand. They finished up the repairs and asked me to stop by some weeks later for a quick free evaluation to double check some of the issues. Overall a great experience, the office and waiting area are very nice. Decorated with Chinese decor and burning incense. There is free wifi and computers if you want to work while you wait.

It's funny I just noticed I had already written a review in 2015. Well, eight years later and I'm still a very satisfied customer. Between my husband's and my car we have been to this place many many times. (Never anywhere else). The work is excellent. We have never ever felt taken advantage off. In fact a couple of times we thought there was something wrong with the car and he told us it was fine and didn't charge us anything. Today we thought there were many issues with my car that needed to be looked into. The owner called to tell me everything was okay except for the sparkplugs. And that's all he charged us for. Thank you very much, Mr. Huong. You are greatly appreciated.

My family has been taking our cars here for all types of services for over two decades. They are straight up honest, affordable, and absolutely NO upselling. We took our Acura ILX to a nearby Acura dealership for an oil change a few months ago because we had a coupon. The service advisor told us we needed front breaks and had an unknown leak coming from somewhere, and quoted us around 800$ just to diagnose it. We decided to take it to Mira Mesa Auto Techs to get the breaks done, which was nearly half as expensive as the dealership, and Alan let us know that there was a very small leak, but it's not really a problem at this point, and would let us know when it becomes an issue. I really appreciate people that tell you the way it is, and aren't trying to upsell you all the time. I would highly recommend this place to anyone in San Diego if you have an Asian model vehicle.
