UPDATE: I am not the only one to receive snarky responses from Ryan, read the other negative reviews on this place. He’s response back to me basically sums up that he is arrogant and most likely doesn’t know what he’s doing. Contacted MKC this morning about an issue I am having with my BMW and wanted to know if I could bring it in on Saturday, was told techs are off on weekends, which was fine. So I asked if I could come in on a weekday around 5:30pm (I work Monday-Friday 8-5) to have it looked at and I offered to wait. This is where Ryan emailed me back with a snarky email saying "we're not a Jiffy Lube type environment that has waiting appointments. Thanks again" needless to say I would rather take my car to the dealership and pay twice as much than to take it to a shop there customer service is not number 1 priority. After reading other reviews I also see that they're work isn't so hot either. I would recommend looking elsewhere for a custom shop, this place doesn't seem worth the hassle.

Everyone needs something. Everyone needs their thing. MKC helps make those things/Dreams happen. Sometimes the things that matter take time. Getting parts may take time, getting it perfect a bit more. Patience is a virtue. Ryan and the group will work towards making it happen. I don't post often, but if you want real, legit, and that dream to happen especially when the dream is big and matters to the core, have the patience and take the time. Modified By KC performance can do some pretty amazing things. They can make that dream a reality. Edit: 4 years later, plans finished, Ryan and Chad helped achieve the unachievable. Didn’t happen overnight, but was so worth the wait and work. Having a Midwest, one off, butt puckering, look getting, ride of self respect and satisfaction is like finding the Holy Grail. Finally finished and accomplishing what was originally a dream and a project that was to keep me off a bar stool or going down a rabbit hole in an extremely rough patch of life has and is the best therapy and most self care and satisfaction I honestly feel I’ve ever felt. It took some special mechanics and some truly mad scientist stuff to pull off, and I’m not sure how many truly capable humans are out there to do what we did. It’s an engineering, mechanical, artistic piece of work. Unlike a painter, still have both ears too. You have a dream, time, need something more than the herd, I know two brothers I’d highly recommend.

Had a great experience with Ryan & Chad at MKC. Ryan helped with sourcing products and questions I had. Chad did a fantastic job with the tune, they were both very helpful throughout the entire build and tuning process for my 07 Legacy GT.

I have a 2020 Subaru STI that I brought to Modified by KC for a Stage 2+ package which included an Invidia Catted Downpipe, Cylinder 4 Cooling Mod, IAG Air Oil Separator, Electronic Boost Controller, NGK 1 Step Colder Spark Plugs, Fuel Pump/Injectors, and Dynotune. The agreement was I pay for the parts and I pay for the tune/labor upon pickup of my vehicle. I submitted my deposit totaling $1532.37. I also asked for a leak-down and compression test which was not in writing in the initial agreement. I reminded them midway through the build. So far only the downpipe and cylinder 4 cooling mod was installed. They performed the compression/leakdown test and the numbers turned out to be suboptimal for my motor and we canceled the entire project and take down the downpipe and cylinder 4 cooling mod. Upon receiving my vehicle they refused to give back the deposit. Ryan became extremely confrontational by saying we don't owe you money. I already received terrible news that my motor is not viable and Ryan being extremely rude to me and made me feel like I was at fault for asking for money from them and running a suboptimal tune on my car. The services performed were: Downpipe install/takedown Cylinder 4 Cooling install/takedown Leakdown and Compression test These 3 services are NOT worth the $1532.37 I paid them but when I kindly asked them to work with me, Ryan made ME feel bad for even trying to ask them. Not to mention my car ran HORRIBLY after taking it back. My car had a noticeably rough idle that I've never noticed before. It also has NEVER flashed the check engine light until it sat on their parking lot. Chad had to reset my ECU TWICE to clear the Cylinder misfire code. EITHER it's coincidence that the problem from the leakdown test is getting worse OR something during the install/takedown process that affected my car. I leave this situation to chance at this point. I had to double check the work as I did not trust them. I found the coolant was also below the low line in my reservoir and I had to ask them to top it off. I've seen some reviews about rude customer service. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and still decided to trust them. I REGRET my decision. Chad was the only one to show empathy for my unfortunate situation. I left their shop feeling sad and mistreated. ------------------------------EDIT 6/25/24---------------------------------------- I took my car to my Subaru dealership for the same diagnostic test. They performed a leakdown test and they had -10% leakdown on ALL cylinders. I also sent datalogs to a tuner and he was skeptical of anything wrong with my car. Not to mention, the rough idle I noticed at Modified by KC's parking lot was caused by my Cylinder 3 gap to be at 0.07. They somehow messed that up because it never idled rough until my visit with Modified by KC. I mentioned these findings to Modified by KC and they said they "stand behind their findings". These guys are awful. PLEASE STAY AWAY. Go to EcoTech in Saint Louis if you have a Subaru and are wanting performance work done. This was my experience with Modified By KC. DO NOT GO HERE.

Today i took my 2004 Pontiac gto for a tune .This shop came highly recommended by a close friend. Well they did not disappoint they had a small issue to over come and they did a great job. they stayed in contact with me during the entire prosses. i highly recommend Modified by KC to any one looking for performance shop . thank you for your great service

Ryan and the team at MKC installed a new motor and clutch assembly in my focus ST. They cured the problems that roached my previous set up. They are honest and straight forward. I would recommend them to anyone needing this type of work done.

Kinda rude, helped me a great deal with tuning. Came to him about getting my car boosted, offered a 7500 dollar kit which is out of my budget because I’m not dropping $7500 dollars on a $750 engine With 280k miles when I can get the parts I WANT for MY build for MUCH cheaper. Flat told me he was too expensive for me (very snarky) and wouldn’t even hear me out about the parts I wanted to use. If you just want someone to get all your parts and build it for you then I recommend this guy for sure. But if you want anything done specifically to your car better take it somewhere else as this employee I talked to seems flat out conceded and duchey.

Amazing experience! I wanted e85 and FMIC installed on my 2020 WRX, as well as other modifications they deemed necessary. They recommended a fuel pump and turbo inlet, and rightfully so. Very knowledgeable, very informative and helpful. I can't praise them enough. It's been over a month and I can't thank you enough. My car runs better than ever, even after my first pro dyno tune. Thank you for doing such a great job!

Had a ban run in with a local shop where I live. Then spent TIME searching for another place to be able to work with what that previous shop had done to my STI without completely overhauling what was just done. These guys were great and completed things very promptly. Very adaptive and also communication post pickup was amazing. Still helped me with any questions that arose from the build and work. Continuing to work with them on another project now as well. Great people, great knowledge, great service. I will be travelling out of state to work with these guys. Definitely worth.

Had headers and intake installed on my challenger plus a tune and I couldn’t be happier with the results. They kept me updated and got it done pretty quick. Definitely recommend going to this shop, I will be going back in the future. I can tell they really care about the work they do. They will get you just what you need.

Modified by KC was referred by another tuner of mine that wasn't local. Did not disappoint, the service was great and Ryan dialed in my vehicle with accuracy. The maps that he gave me were on point for my 08 g37s coupe. Would of never thought he can squeeze that much hp out of my car thank you Modified by KC 🔥🔥🔥

Nothing like being cussed out on the phone because I gave a one star review because if his lack personal skills, I didn't even say anything negative but he called me twice and I had to hang up on him, you gotta bully someone into removing a negative review, apparently I'm unbecoming of a 20 yr Veteran because I left him a one star and he proceeded to call me a liar and I have no friends and my family can't stand me. Such drama, Ha! Man this guy is nuts, he keeps changing is response and adding more lies, I guess he thinks I'm going to delete this review if he keeps adding personal stuff to hit a nerve of which is not true. Ryan, I'm not deleting this, nice try! I'll delete this when you give my $100 back.

Ryan is one of the sweetest and up front guy with upmost integrity. He wants the best for you and your car, not here to take your money. Top rated shop, service and expertise. I’ve had clutch, corsa exhaust, cams, new IAS forged engine and catch can. Extensive work and he does my oil changes and check ups to make sure everything is healthy and happy.

Should have taken my WRX here years ago. Engine is much happier with their tune. Been running it daily for 4 months and have experienced zero DAM drop. Cobb OTS, Etune, and stock map would be pulling timing regularly. MKCs tune added a lot of consistent power.

After having a major overhaul on my car earlier this year from a different shop, I was left feeling unsatisfied. The sales person wanted me to give him a part number for an MSD ready to run distributor. I was going to give him a part number and he said all they do is LS swaps and made comments about people using old technologies like tube TVs. Do these people know MSD ready to run distributors see used with modern fuel injection systems. Don't get rude and berate a potential customers.

The team at Modified has been easy to work with. Had a serious breakdown and had to trailer my Durango to them. I had to come up with some money to get it fixed. They allowed it to stay there and with in a couple of days, had the first invoice paid for the parts. I'm hoping that the next couple of days, I get a call saying it's done. I've been anxious and trying not to bother them. LOL. I will definitely be back for more work to be done on it in the future.

Prices on website aren't accurate. They will cancel your order and than offer you a price that is higher than any other website but also tell you you're getting a discount... 0 incentive to purchasing here instead of other well known websites. Free shipping would still cost more.
