Brian and Matt are awesome. They got my truck in same-day, gave me an honest quote, and took less time (and, thus, at less cost) than originally estimated … any auto mechanic that tries to save *me* money (vs. the other way around) has my business, loyalty, and referrals forever.

My son is new to SDSU and needed electrical work and brake lights fixed ASAP. As his father and 500 miles away, I found Morena Automotive on Yelp. Matt took great care of my son's car and was very reasonable and professional. Its a great feeling to have a mechanic to trust and know my son will be in good hands while living in San Diego. I hired a mobile mechanic to change the pads on my wife's car. the guy did something stupid and broke the piston and rear caliper. The next day I took the car to Bryan at Morena Automotive, according to him, they removed the air from the system and ran the scanner. I paid $302 for this service. I took the car and drove to OB the first time I use the parking brake the lights all came back on the dashboard. They asked me to take the car back to the shop, they plugged in the scanner and obviously nothing happened as they just erased the errors. They sent me away and I lost $302 for nothing. So unprofessional. To our neighbors in Clairemont and Linda Vista, I do not recommend this workshop. Updated: I didn’t asked for a refund someone called Boba our something like this called me asking if I wanted to have a refund. Second you charge me to fixed it and asked me to bring the car back, didn’t explained to me that the only thing you did was scanned it. And I explained that I made a bad choice hiring the mobile guy as made a bad choice taking the car to your shop. I just wrote a bad review because this is the second time they have messed up. The first incident was when they charged me $600 to replace a water pump on my Prius. Just a few hours later, the engine lights came back on. When I took it to another shop that specializes in Priuses, they replaced the hybrid battery, and the problem was resolved. This is what happens when you have mechanics who only know how to read scanners and not properly diagnose issues.

I am taking a long road trip from Chula Vista, CA to Hillsborough, N.C. So, I wanted to ensure my Hyundai Veloster was in good shape. I read some excellent reviews about Morena Automotive. For this reason, I took my car to the Morena Automotive garage for a diagnostic check and any repairs needed. All the guys there were friendly and professional. The check revealed some problems I knew about and other maintenance issues that needed attention. Also, the price quote was accurate. Although my car required much work, they completed the repairs within 24 hours. I picked it up the next day. I am extremely satisfied with the Morena Automotive staff’s service, and I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone needing car maintenance and service.

Absolute quality! I brought my Subaru for a CEL here after getting them recommended by a fellow Subaru owner. The team at Morena automotive diagnosed it and found a quick solution after I had brought it in. They even recommended a smog shop as I needed to register my vehicle in state and followed up a few days later. If I ever run into other issues I'm definitely coming back.

After reading his exceptional reviews, I called Brian at Morena Automotive for a problem with my 2005 Prius. What a wonderful family business! So professional and helpful, Brian knew my problem called for a Prius expert named Will at SD Hybrids (also on Morena). Will took care of my car the same day, and I couldn't be happier (see his review). However, I would not have known about the specific Prius skills Will had, without the great referral by Brian. If you have a difficult issue on your Prius, call Will first. And if you need a skilled, honest and responsible mechanic for all your other cars, please give Brian a call. Brian and Bubba are tremendous! Found them on Yelp and they delivered! I had a Volvo going in for a smog check and it was failing so I needed a mechanic to diagnose and fix the problem. These guys are super friendly and honest. They ran their diagnostics and found at least one problem that was fixed with a simple remedy (new gas cap). Then they had me run through some exercises with car before making sure the car was ready for the smog test. 20 mins later went to a smog station and it passed! Thanks guys! I was pretty anxious about this and you made it easy and affordable. You’ve earned a client for life!!!

Great experience with Brian & Bubba over here! I thought I needed a new alternator or battery from some bad advice. The guys helped test my battery and alternator and it turns out I did not need to replace either one yet. Thank you for your guidance fellas, I'll be back when it is time to replace them :)

Needed brakes for my Kia and dealt with Bubba, who was great! He managed to get the brakes done in a very short period of time, and at less than the estimate. There are a lot of amazing reviews about this place… so I decided to give them a call about my car dilemma. It is a very simple issue that involves my cooking fan. When I called and was explaining the issue (keep in mind it is 9am on a Friday) he literally CUT ME OFF asking “Have you been here before?” And I said no… then he says very rudely “We’re all booked today and closed Saturday and Sunday. We can’t do anything for you” No “Sorry” no “We can get you in sometime next week, sorry you have to wait.” No “We can try and take a look between customers.” NOTHING! Lost a customer before you even had one… attitude is everything!

These guys went above and beyond in acquiring difficult to find parts for my car. I had some components under the car that were rusted and the mechanic kindly walked me through the process he was going to take to remove and replace them. Very clear communication.
