A few years ago my car had a serious oil leak. I was referred to Mr Gearhead. I had my car towed to his shop. After a week, Matt said my rear main seal was blown and quoted me $2800 because he had to remove the transmission. After another week he finished the job, charged me $2800 and I drove back to Denver. 6 months later the leak came back. I took my car to a real mechanic who told me that whoever worked on the leak before, put a bunch of JB weld to cover the leak, and it didn't hold. I should have questioned his qualifications when I saw his shop. Tools, and car parts all over the place. Junk everywhere. The bathroom & office was filthy and he and his wife allowed their little kids to run around. Apparently he had some sort of eye problems. He looked cross eyed. Avoid this guy like the plague. Unless you need JB weld. He's good at that. What a rip off!

Absolutely the worst experience I've ever had with anybody who knows or says they know how to work on a car my car lost all of its power I brought the car to him.. my right passenger window also wouldn't roll up after I brought the car to him he said he would have my window UPS to make sure that no one stole anything out of my car and then it might take him a couple of weeks... 10 months later he still had not had my car finished to the point to where I finally just ended up taking it back from him with parts missing out of my engine that window he was supposed to roll up he never did my car was filled with leaves and dirt from all the different weather that came throughout the time that he had my car both my interior door panels were gone and completely missing from my car I don't understand how anybody could give this man a five-star rating I no longer have that vehicle because of all the damage that he caused on it and now I am without trsndportdtion

Highly recommend this this place. My wife and I were on a cross country road trip and Mr. Gearhead was the closest shop to us when our engine ran into trouble. Matt is a super reliable and honest guy, and was able to diagnose and resolve the issue over the weekend for us. He's a knowledgeable mechanic, and the type of trustworthy person you would hope to run into in this situation - who is not looking to gouge you for more money than you need to spend. He even gave us some great advice on towing at altitude through the Eisenhower/Johnson tunnels at the Continental Divide, and ways to keep our dog cool in the back of the car throughout the summer leg our road trip. Really glad we chose to get our work done here.

Several years ago I had major issues getting a diagnosis on my vehicle through woodmen nissan and a friend referred me to Mr. Gearhead. They had already misdiagnosed it twice and then tried to tell me i needed a new engine. I had my car towed off their lot to Matt's shop and he stayed late diagnosing what was wrong and showing me the test he was running that proved what the issue was the timing chain. I've been taking my vehicles to Matt ever since. Not only is he honest and hardworking but his rates are far better than big box shops these days. I would also highly recommend having him do diagnostics and full inspection on any used vehicle before buying from a dealership!

I've been to many mechanics for starting issues with my car and spent hours waiting and fixing issues that did not solve my problem. It took Matt maybe an hour to install 2 parts and fix my spark issue completely. He is the first mechanic that has been able to read the codes on my car, and also gave me some insight as to what repairs I may need to invest in in the future. I highly recommend this shop not only because it is a family owned business, but because they were well priced, fast paced, helpful outside what I had asked, and because my experience was so positive overall. Do not waste your time going to a different mechanic because this shop is number 1.

Paid them To fix 1st and 2nd gears . Almost $ 3k and the car leaks oil more than ever. Not happy. I wont be going back. I am glad some of you had a good experience.

Went there for a front end rebuild. They had the best price around. The work was finished early. He stayed late so I could pick my vehicle up early. He called me back after he found the right dust cap. I had looked through the depth of the internet for that part and couldn't find it. He worked on a vehicle that was the same as mine and remember that I was looking for that same part. That's what I call going above and beyond. Amazing customer service.

The work took a little longer than expected. However, it's still been done fantastically. It's a good idea to at least double the expected amount of time for everything, so that it's not so demotivating when it takes longer than expected. Thank you for the radio install!

Matt was very knowledgeable and quickly identified the problems with my vehicle. He was honest with what needed fixed and offered advice on what was and wasn’t essential to be fixed. He didn’t push me to pay for additional non essential services. His wife and him were both very personable and I would not hesitate to take my vehicle back to them in the future

My experience was awesome! The check engine light was on in our truck. Even though they were fully booked for the day, they fit me in to get my truck looked at. Everything was thoroughly checked out and explained to me. The issue was quickly addressed, and I was given a plan to move forward if any other issues were to arise. I am so grateful to have found this business!

Excellent service, friendly, conveniently located. Matt had the parts ordered and ready to go just by my description of the problem. When he verified the issue he stayed late to finish it. Truck starts and runs great now. He was fair and honest and showed me the part he replaced was clearly burned. Highly recommend.

I currently have my car in matts shop for an engine swap (A big job).. The other day he was walking by my car with my new motor, and accidentally scratched the side of my car with the motor. Matt immediately got on the phone and called up a painter to come and fix the damage to my car at no cost to me. He was able to get the painter into the shop that same day to fix the damage, he stayed until the job was done at 1:00 A.M. He also kept me updated on the engine swap and paint repair via text and phone call (He didn't do anything without letting me know first or asking permission) When you are in their shop, you feel like family, and they they treat you as such. Since this car is my daily driver, Matt is working some very long nights and making it a priority to help make sure i can get back to driving as soon as possible.. I have been going to this shop for almost 2 years now, and in that time i have referred all of my family and friends without hesitation, and almost immediately they turn around and do the same to their friends. i will never go to another mechanic : ).

Family owned. Matt stayed late on a Saturday to fix a sensor and had my car running better than when I bought it, within an hour. Very fair price. As an engineer, I'm impressed with their technical expertise.

I recently had a great experience with Mr. Gearhead. Prior to locating the store I had been quoted an outrageous price for AC service. Matt, the head mechanic, was knowledgeable, honest, and super patient. (hard to find at your nearby chain store). You can tell he cares about cars and being upfront. His knowledge helped save me a boatload of cash and he was able to explain the reasoning for each service . I also appreciate that he recommended future repairs but did not try to upsell me. Bottom Line - Mr. Gearhead's fast, honest, and affordable service is better than any chain I've been to.
