So yesterday I had a appointment for a oil change at about 11 am me and my son walk in to the office there was two mechanic setting in the customer waiting area on their phones another gentleman was at the desk. I greeted him. I told him that I had an appointment for an oil change. I then went and pulled up my Groupon coupon that I paid for the service already the gentleman then tells me that they don’t have synthetic oil and what I paid for did not cover for the full synthetic so I would have to pay the difference. I then pulled up the coupon. Very specifically I said to him in read to him what was included as stated in the coupon and I quote Valvoline, synthetic high mileage or full synthetic the gentleman was trying to get money out of me. I am assuming after arguing with him telling him that it states full synthetic mind you no lights are on in the office. The two mechanics sitting in the waiting area no cars in the Baby being worked on and the open sign was not even lit up. They literally were just sitting in there doing nothing no car is being worked on nothing and then I asked the gentleman. Where can I have your corporate phone number or general manager’s phone number and may I please have your name gentleman then stated I don’t have to disclose that to you but he did tell me what number I could call so since you didn’t wanna give me his name I took a picture of them because I am assuming that he did not want to get in trouble but yet I don’t think he was anticipating me to take a picture of him standing behind the counter so rest assure that I will be and have contacted the general manager for Mr. tire I honestly can’t believe that that location is still open much less making any money with that type of customer service? I will never go back to this location on Howard Street. I proceeded to the Mr. tire at I left on Erdman Avenue everybody in there was very professional courteous lit up waiting area. Everyone was wearing their uniforms with name tags unlike the last Mr. tire that I just came from, I gave him and presented him the same coupon that I presented to the first Mr. tire and Lord and behold, guess what I asked the manager at that location this does cover full synthetic correct what I paid for he then says yes it does, sir wow I don’t think I need to say anymore, but thank you to the people at the Erdman Ave., Mister tire location for servicing me and my son and a professional Manor I will return back to that location.

Horrendous customer service. Don't open on time and close before the time they say they will. The employees do not know how to communicate with customers which is asinine if they want to retain a loyal customer base.

I have always thoroughly enjoyed my experiences at this Mr.Tire. When I moved downtown a couple of years ago I didn’t know where to take my car and this was definitely the place. The service is always top notch. I wouldn’t go anywhere else. Thanks guys

Watch this place really full of crooks at the Howard street branch. They told me I have to pay the mechanic cash of almost $500 and for the other services use debit card. I know I got scammed but I'm good

Terrible place the supervisor will try to trump up more issues for more money and even if u make a appointment toy still will have to wait before they start on your car do not go here

DJ, Brent and Pierce took extremely good care of me. My car is my baby and it is vital for my work so I depend on it. I rushed into this location with a blow out that happened while I was at work. Unbeknownst to me, my lugs were stripped and because my car is a Subaru, I needed two tires instead of one. I was so stressed and on top of all of that, I had one of the clients I manage for my work with me. It was horrible but these guys took care of me. They were busy but they took time to explain everything. Thank you all so much!

Excellent service! These men were both kind and quick. As someone who is not knowledgeable about cars, I often worry that I might be taken advantage of. The people working at this location patiently explained what I needed and answered all my questions. I will definitely be back.

I had a nail in my tire and they helped me right away. I was in and out in 30 minutes. Keshawn was especially helpful and kind! 10/10 service.

Had to replace a tire that was slowly losing air (about 5-10psi per day for over a week). First they told me that it wasn't low and I was fine (I had refilled it before driving it to Mr Tire), then when I said it was a slow leak they said they found a nail in the sidewall that couldn't be repaired. I said I'd replace the tire (all 4 tires were fairly new) and they tried to upsell me on replacing both rear tires. I just got the one replaced - the other was less than 1/32 of an inch different in tread than the other new tire.

The guys that work there are so nice. Great customer service from the manager and always feel like I can trust them. Honesty from your mechanic is a must for return business. I will continue to bring my car to this location for all maintenance and repairs.

poor service they don't top off your fluids or rotate your tires, I asked for full synthetic oil and they were going to put a synthetic blend in my car. I left before they touched my car and was told the mechanics at Monroe across the street didn't know what they were doing so I wouldn't leave.

"Corporate Policy" is the refrain we kept getting after we had our car towed here for a relatively minor repair. The part that was needed was not available from their supplier so we were told we would need to find one on our own and bring it to them because of "corporate policy." They couldn't work on our car the next day because the original technician who checked the car in wasn't there (though he hadn't started doing any work) again because of "corporate policy." We wife couldn't pay our bill over the phone because of "corporate policy" and had to get a rideshare to pay. We had to have the car towed to a local garage to do the work because of all these issues. Any excuse not to work seemed to be covered by "corporate policy." Maybe they're ok if you just stick with tires but I don't think it's worth the risk.

I showed up on 11:30 on a Saturday with multiple slow leaks (no nails, just old worn tires). Friendly quick service, kept me informed, got me out when they said they would. Not cheap, but I checked around and really not unreasonable. Can’t complain

I've gotten tires at this Mr. Tire location several times over the years without issue and am disappointed to be writing a negative review now. I called Mr. Tire on a Saturday morning because my car's check engine light was on and the engine died after turning on the car. They said that I could have the car towed to the shop and they would diagnose it. Later that afternoon I called to check on the car and was told that the diagnostic revealed that my car needed a new mass air flow sensor. It was nearly closing time, so I said I'd call back in the morning to inform them if I'd go ahead with the repair. The next morning I called and was told that Mr. Tire didn't have the part, couldn't order it through their vendors and that if I wanted the repair done, I would need to buy the part and deliver it myself to the shop. I've never had a mechanic instruct me to buy a part needed for a repair. There is an Advanced Auto Parts less than 500 feet from the shop, but the Mr. Tire receptionist refused to retrieve the part because of "corporate policy". I decided against buying the part myself and planned to get the car towed to a more cooperative mechanic. I still needed to pay for the diagnostic. I asked to pay via phone or internet and was told this was "against corporate policy" and that I would have to come pay in person. So I had to drag my five year old on the bus to Mr. Tire to pay instead of being able to give my credit card information over the phone. In addition, the Mr. Tire receptionist called me twice during the day when he meant to call a different customer. When I was paying in person, I heard the same receptionist call a customer to inform them their repair was done and they could come pick up their car. Moments later the receptionist called back that customer and apologized, saying their car wasn't ready and he had refused that customer's car with someone else's. Anyone can have a bad day, but these errors affirmed the shoddy and disorganized way the shop was being run. I am definitely never patronizing the Mr. Tire at Howard Street location again.

Called about having some Nexen tires that they were having a promotion on- buy one get one for this particular tire. Great deal! So, I call them. It went like this: First, he said that the promotion was over. I told him that the website says that it goes until July 31st. He says, "Let me call my manager". He calls me back and says that they can only do the deal if I buy 2 tires, but not 4. I tell him that the website clearly states that there is a 4 tire purchase limit, not 2. He says, "We can do buy 3 get one." I was like...that is not the promotion. He essentially tells me to take it or leave it. Luckily, I went to the Owings Mills location where they honored the promotion, got me in within the hour, and had me on my way in 45 minutes. These dudes are shaaaaady. Pick another location.

Had a great experience as a first time customer. They replaced a tire same day and offered a courtesy inspection. Prices were reasonable and service was prompt. Davon was great at the front end. I’ll be back !

Horrible. Just a disorganized mess of a place. I almost never write a negative review, but this place is ridiculous. Made an appointment online two days before service with the info for my tire and the cost. Even called 24 hours ahead of time as recommended to confirm they would get the tire in. Showed up for my appointment. They don't have the tire. They tell me they'll order it now. If I'll pay extra they can rush and get it in 2-3 hours, otherwise it will still be safe day service since I had a morning appointment. Had me put down a deposit and said they'll call me later that afternoon to come back and get it done. When it was about 90 min before closing and I hadn't heard anything I called them and was told there was an issue with the vendor, it wasn't coming today. But that it should be in tomorrow and theyd let me know when it came in. When I told them this wouldn't work, because I'm on a spare donut and have to work tomorrow driving 40 miles each way I asked them to just cancel it because I'll have to make other arrangements. They advised me ok but they can't refund my deposit. I would have to call corporate. As we speak I've just been sitting on hold with corporate for the last 20 min. Just go find someone else. Probably a reason there's a big rise in one star reviews over the last few months on here

I highly recommend this service center. The service manager, Tayvon Patterson, and the other staff are courteous, kind, and always willing to help.The service manager also keeps you informed regarding length of time required. The service is prompt, and the wait time is always reasonable and less than you'd expect. I've always been pleased by the excellent service I've received. They do a great job!

took my car in for 2 new tires.....first the details I entered for my reservation had to be communicated again. Then after I'm back home was called and informed: a) I needed brake work.....this even though I just had my brakes done. b) there was a nail in one of the tires I wasn't replacing. [this is 100% plausible but after the brake work 'up sell' made me suspect.I said, just patch it Was later called back and informed it couldn't be patched....so 2 more tires....this overall doubled what I was expecting to pay. And if that all wasn't enough right before I parked at home....the low pressure tire sensor is trigger. This will probably entail me now having to spend more of my time returning to be addressed. Terrible experience! edit: I need to compliment the service when I returned ..... they addressed a poorly installed valve stem quickly )in and out in under 20min) and with no charge. This doesn't change my initial impression but felt important to add.

I got a bad flat while in Baltimore. Dayvon and DJ took care of me. It was afternoon and they went above and beyond making sure I got a replacement before the day was done thanks a million.

I needed to new tires back in December to visit my family for Christmas in my home state. I picked out my own tires online and set up the appointment with the wait in store option. When I got there I was told it would take 4 to 5 hours to change two tires which seemed ridiculous considering it was not busy at all. I said I'm going to wait here I don't have 5 hours to kill. Then magically, they said they can do it in in about an hour. The job was completed in about an hour and a half. The price was similar to the online quote, unlike the experience of others in these reviews. So far, so good. However, not long after they put the car on the lift, I got an strong smell of marijuana both in the waiting area and coming from the garage area. I saw clouds from the garage area confirming the source. I should have told them right then and there to stop working on the car as I did not trust the workmanship under such conditions. But I needed to travel in 48 hours and regrettably, I took my chances that the guy doing the work wasn't impaired. Ever since then, the car has driven with a mushiness that is developed into a grinding noise. The 4 hour drive to NY was very noisy. At that point, I figured it was new tire treads that were making the noise but it has gotten worse over time not less. My AWD/ABS warning lights came on in late March and I avoid using the car as as much possible. I don't drive much given that I can walk to work and live in the city center. I do believe that this issue would have manifested more quickly if I was still commuting every day etc. I imagine that it has been too long for any sort of remediation, if indeed the issue was originally caused by shoddy tire replacement from stoned workers. Moreover, even if Mr Tire was shown to be 100% responsible and offers 100% remittance, I'd be extremely uncomfortable having the same shop diagnose and fix the issue. That is why I'm giving this a one-star review; the technicians are under the influence which is equally unprofessional and irresponsible regardless of any ensuing issues for the customer. I've heard good things about Mr Tire in general but I cannot endorse this location after my experience.
