Wilson is the only mechanic I trust with my car. He's smart knowledgeable and fast. His prices are incredible when paired with his knowledge. I wouldn't trust my car in the hands of anyone else. He'll fix your car and then show you everything he did and what else may be causing issues which isn't something I've seen any other mechanics do.

Jess & Wilson are delightful people :) It was a much different experience then working with a bigger shop, in addition to being very personable, knowledgable, providing quality work, and even some fun stories along the way, their prices are also very fair. This is the first time I’ve used Northstar and I have nothing but positive feedback to share. I’m from out of town and my car had a serious problem resulting in it completely shutting down. Got towed to Northstar and Wilson took great care of me and the car. Squeezed me in, diagnosed the problem, explained everything to me and got the repair done in less than 24 hours. If I lived local I would use Northstar as my regular mechanic.

Bring you car here. Wilson and Jessica gave me the best customer service i have ever received in an auto shop. I appreciate Wilson for taking time to teach me about my vehicle and explaining in detail why and what he was replacing. I am happy with the way they took care of my vehicle, the price, and how kind they were to me. Their shop dog too was a delight. If you need a mechanic you can trust, these guys are it.

Wilson is incredible! I drove to Portland, from northern Washington, in the beginning of April for job training, about a week ago I went to Wilson because my car was smelling like burned oil. I stopped by Wilson’s shop to have it looked at and he was so kind and knowledgeable regarding the problem and didn’t even charge me! I called him a few days later and had a conversation about next steps, he spent 15 minutes helping me understand what is best and what to expect with my car. Never charged me a cent for any of his time! Unheard of, I would definitely recommend this business and wished I lived closer so it could be my regular mechanic.

Amazing amazing amazing. I am blown away by the level of professionalism, honesty, and customer service that I received from Wilson and Jess! I called and they got me in same day. I had to leave my car overnight for repairs, and it was done first thing the next morning. It was so fast! I could tell that they genuinely cared about me and my vehicle. Wilson was incredibly transparent throughout the whole process. He was super knowledgeable, informed, and very thorough. He went above and beyond for me and my car and got me back on the road with no shenanigans. The prices were very fair and there wasn’t anything unexpectedly added to the bill. I am SO happy I found this little family run business. They earned a lifelong customer and I hope they win you over, too!

The absolute best mechanic I've ever been to. Fair prices, super honest, will show you exactly what's going on. I took a car here for a buyer's inspection and they saved me from buying a car with upwards of $3,000 worth of repairs the dealership hadn't disclosed, Wilson and Jess are the nicest people ever, I can't recommend them enough!

After a catastrophic oil leak manifested on our older Subaru, I was feeling overwhelmed by the prospect of either trying to fix the problem myself or find a mechanic who wouldn’t charge 3 times what the car is worth to do the work. Besides the wizards at Ron’s Front End on Foster, my experiences with mechanics have mostly left me feeling very reluctant to have others work on my vehicles. Wilson certainly has restored a bit of my faith in the good that is possible in the world. He is incredibly thorough and candid about what the work requires and what not to undertake given context and budgetary concerns. I would recommend anyone with any problem with their vehicle to get it checked out here first. Wilson is a straight shooter and if he’s got the time to field your issue, you’ll be glad you trusted Northstar to do the work.

This used to be a great place took my car there multiple times went by today to ask if I could have the repair done on my car and he made up some huge story and said he wouldn't work on my car no more cuz I tried to blame him for something I've never once he tried to blame it for anything it always paid him for his services I thought we had a really good relationship what a weird experience.....,..... Okie dokie thanks!!!!!! Never once have I ever ordered any services from you or any other company and never showed up and never did that that is such a b bogus story you just got a problem with me that's all

Very honest and communicative. Wilson is an excellent technician and is very transparent about everything. He also includes an engine/drivetrain diagnostic with any work done so that you have a good idea of what needs to be done. I will be coming here to keep my VW alive

Wilson is amazing, if your not coming here your messing up. He was quick, cheap and honest. I had a car window that wasn’t rolling up. I went to 2 other places the day before. The first place quoted me $360, the second place quoted me $650 to fix the broken window motor. North Star was way less than both of them and fixed the window in less than 3 hours from when I brought it in. Don’t go anywhere else, Wilson is the man!

I found this shop through a friend who has been going to them for years. I had Wilson inspect a used 2006 Honda CRV I was looking at and do the repairs on the 2002 CRV I ended up purchasing. I brought it in for an oil change and some other repairs. He got all the parts and repairs done really quickly. He pointed out to me and explained what needed to be done and why, and afterwards showed me the broken parts that he had replaced. The price for parts and labor was fair and now my car is running great. I will be coming here from now on for oil changes on up and spreading the word about this honest and exceptional mechanic!
