I was a damsel in distress and I was lucky enough to find a super human in Jose at this pep boys location I had a screw in my tire he took the time to pull it out and make sure there was no leak the screw was in a spot that would have required tire replacement not fixable Jose did not take advantage of me and he could have thank you!

HORRIBLE place. They do not keep you updated. They WILL not call you back for over a week no matter how hard you try. They WILL not take notes and communicate the information to other associates. They ARE very poorly managed and have poor customer service skills. They WILL not do anything to make you comfortable or welcomed in any way. They ARE overpriced & will charge you differently than what they tell you. Overall, I’ve never had a worse customer service experience. If you have a choice, make this your last one, or not one at all.

I was treated with warm professionalism and empathetic concern for determining the cause of my oil leak. The waiting room was comfortable and very clean. Though they could not solve the problem in the visit, they came up with a plan to determine the source of the leak.

2 new tires installed and 1 still had a seal leak. Brought back to get fixed 3 days later and they wanted to charge for their mistake. Stay away.

Call other places before you go through with service here. I was quoted $300 over the average repair cost of 5 places in the area. It seemed like they were just taking advantage of an insurance tow situation, so I did not go through with the service. When I got there to meet an external tow company to pick my car up, Pep Boys almost charged me $130 over the $35 diagnostic fee, luckily the guy at the front fixed that for me, but still not a great experience.

One of the least professional places to service your car in Chicago. Will not take accountability for mistakes (of which they make many) and apparently don’t know how to check back in on customers that they leave on hold. Take your car anywhere else on earth!

The gentlemen here went above and beyond on taking care of what needed to be taken care of. I appreciated it so much! I know there were couple hiccups and mishaps along the way but everyone was incredibly professional and kind, especially since they stayed later than usual. Very appreciative!

I had an issue with the trunk of my car and asked my partner to take it in to get diagnosed and make a plan for repair. He took it in and spoke with Kelly, she told him she didn't need to diagnose or look at the car that she knew what part to order and it would take at least one day to arrive so to come back for the repair in two days. I rushed over there after work two days later to get it in to them to repair and the person working told me Kelly had not put in an order for a part and that I had just missed her so I had to call back the next morning to figure out what was going on so I left. I called back the next morning and spoke with Kelly briefly, she said she needed to look into it and would call me back 30 minutes later, I never received a call back. Obviously I won't be attempting to get serviced here again since after 3 attempts and being given the run around I don't trust that they could do a good job on my car, but I thought I'd write a review so others know what they are in for.

I've had a recurring issue where my car shuts off while driving, and two previous mechanics said there wasn't anything wrong with my hybrid car. The Pep Boys staff apparently have figured it out and it was ready in about two days. Jose and Kelly were very helpful and helped me navigate a few issues paying for and picking up the car. Will definitely go back if needed.

Had an unexpected tire blow when starting my day and Pep Boys online website make it SO easy to navigate. It was the first time I had to take of something like this and they made it easy!! From the towing to the tire change, all was done in 1 day. It’s nice that they handle the towing part as well. Doing it online is also quicker than over the phone so I would recommend this as well.

I just returned from this location very dissatisfied with my overall experience. I brought my car for a headlight repair, with a 4pm appointment. After 45 minutes with no updates, I sought out 3 different technicians at the desk asking if there was an update on what needed to be fixed-I was told 3x that my car was still in line and next on the dock. After speaking to yet another technician, I was finally informed at 5:15pm that my car was about to be seen. 20 minutes later, I was told my car was ready, needing only a bulb replacement, for which I was charged $292. When I asked how this was possible, I was informed that I was charged the full hour of labor, despite the repair only taking 20 minutes to complete. While I understand how mechanics are paid, it is completely unacceptable and ignorant of the customer experience that my time was not valued in the same way. I was forced to wait over an hour to be seen, well past my confirmed appointment time, with no communication during the process, nor an estimate before the repair was completed. This is a huge failure in the overall management; to keep a customer waiting with no updates nor an estimate for over an hour, only to then charge a "full hour's" fee to fix ONLY a lightbulb is absolutely unethical and not best business practice. Unfortunately, I was forced to pay the full amount and am hugely aggravated by the overall experience. Do not recommend.

Visited Pepboys for a replacement battery. Battery was in stock and was able to get it installed same day. I saved over half the price the dealership quoted. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable. Manny was my service advisor.

I brought my car in with a flat tire at 10am Sunday morning. They had 25 cars with flat tires that day and one tire machine. Mine was done by 230. Thanks to Kelly R who checked me in and Little B was my mechanic. I was beyond thrilled to get it back the same day. Huge shout and thx to PepBoys!

I have no idea how this place is still in business. When you enter, no one even greets you. You just hope that someone looks up so that you can approach. Xavier started with attitude from the very start. How do you have a business where you have to deal with both incompetence AND rudeness. We have a warranty at Pep Boys but we will not be back. I would rather pay a business that will do a good job and treat me with respect. That is the very least any business should provide to it's customers. Avoid this experience if you can.

The employees were courteous and kind and explained everything very well, but it took 2 hours for an oil change with an appointment. I was told an hour so I waited but would have left had I known 2 hours!
