I had the absolute worst experience with Pep Boys, and I would strongly advise anyone to avoid their services. They kept my car for over a month, which was beyond frustrating, especially since they misdiagnosed the issue entirely. I paid for diagnostic, only to find out later that they got it completely wrong. Now, I’m out of pocket with no refund and still dealing with car issues. Their communication was abysmal—weeks would go by without updates, and I had to chase them just to get any information on what was happening with my vehicle. The whole experience has been exhausting and disappointing. I’ll never take my car back to Pep Boys and would recommend others think twice before trusting them with any repairs.

So grateful for all of the help the manager, Manny gave me today! He was so kind, professional, and knowledgeable. He handled my car with care and explained information to me and even took the time to speak to my Dad, a former mechanic over the phone, to reassure him of the service given per my request! The only reason I did not give 5 stars was based on prior experience at Pep Boys, before Manny stepped in. However, he rectified the matter with top tier service! Please note: Manny definitely gets 5 stars! 😃

Felix happened to be outside when I was checking my windshield wiper and asked if I needed help. Not only found me the right one, put it on for me with no extra charge. Super friendly and great service.

5 STARS ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ STARTING OUT.. Hi I’m J Marie D just got off the phone with Manny pepboys at 2604 n elston ave I had a bit of a story.. Manny Listened, I explained my concerns about the vehicle, which is a 2016 toyota hybrid a licensed Taxicab. Considering my concerns, Manny scheduled a appointment and gave me a estimated cost. I’m soon to take the taxicab in to pepboys.. I’m Excited.. StayTune

I had a 12pm appt for tires and they said it would be 1 1/2hrs so I walked around the area and came back almost 2hrs later to see my car sitting in the exact same spot. I found out out someone else with a later appt for tires got taken car of before me and someone else with no appt also. I was told by the asst mgr that work is assigned to techs and that my tech was behind. This makes no sense. I asked if my tech took another 2hrs I would have to let how many more people go ahead of me for the same service or what if techs were done. Would they just sit and wait while my tech is hours behind. Absolute horrible policy if true. What a waste of 2+ hours. To think they asked for me to wait another 1 1/2hrs to do the work. I had a good experience awhile back but this just ruined it.

I had a wonderful experience at this Pepboy location. Got my oil change and filters done. Manager Felix, Manager in training Xavier, Service agent Kelly, and Technician Andy explained everything needed and showed me my dirty air and cabin filters, too. Very professional, courteous, helpful and knowledgeable. Im very happy with today's service.

Terrible Experience – Sold Us a Defective Battery I bought a battery from this store, and everything seemed fine at first. However, shortly after leaving, our car shut off in the middle of the road, leaving us stranded. It turns out the battery they sold us was defective. We had to call a tow truck to take the car to the nearest mechanic, where we had to buy a new battery because the one from this store was unusable. When I called the store to explain the situation and request a refund, they refused, saying that I had to tow the car back to their shop – which was much farther away – meaning I would have had to pay even more for the extra towing miles. Not only did they sell us a bad battery, but their customer service was unhelpful and unwilling to take responsibility. They expect me to pay extra for their mistake! I do not recommend this place at all. Avoid them if you want reliable service and products.

Amazing experience. I stopped to buy thinking that I might have to buy two new tires. Xavier, the manager in training, was able to immediately help me by quickly testing whether there was a leak and assessing the damage to my sidewall. Xavier told me that the damage was only cosmetic and he then took the time to help me inflate the tires. Completely nice, helpful guy and much appreciated.

Just went in to try to get a vehicle inspection for uber something that takes only 15-20 minutes at most. This is a whole hour before they close if i would’ve gone all late like before they closed the store i would’ve understood. But Dude at the register talking about i need a appointment cause he can’t do it right now. Smh Lazy. I came to jiffy lube down the street & they’re doing it as I’m typing this right now 😂

Had a issue with a tire going flat on very other day Been to 2 other place that said they fixed it but would still leak. Explained my issue to Jose M the store manager He came back and told me the issue was in the valve He not only fixed the problem but took the time to check all the tires and balance them as well tires. Jose M was very thorough and took the time to make sure it was done right!!!! Thank you Jose

I had an appointment for an oil change, and it took three hours to complete the service. I believe it’s essential to manage appointment times effectively. If you cannot accommodate customers within a reasonable timeframe, it would be beneficial not to open those time slots. This would help avoid inconveniences for both your staff and your customers.

Worst garage I've ever been dumb enough to go to. Wouldn't ever come back here even if my car was on fire. they'd spray it with gas instead of water and by the time they finished it would have gone out on its own.

Congrats to Pep Boys getting my only 1 star review! DO NOT GO TO PEP BOYS FOR TRANSMISSION ISSUES. I came to pep boys because there was an issue with my oil temp sensor. If the issue is internal they won’t service the individual component and only offer a total replacement of the transmission. This wasn’t explained to me properly which made me think the real problem was the entire transmission and there was no way around it. I did not know better until I read their print (picture attached). The total estimate they casually gave me- transmission replacement and tierod replacement totaled almost 7k, with labor nearing 3k. I obviously refused to pay the same cost of the entire car. Additionally, my car sat on their lot for 2 days without being looked at because they didn’t have anyone who could work on transmissions. This was after telling me someone would be in the day after, twice… By the way a replacement oil temp sensor for my vehicle is 43 bucks. 7k? No thanks. Never going back here. Lost trust in this location. Also, ever since they changed my tires a while back I also noticed the car veering right slightly and for this most recent visit they found a bad tie rod. Wonder if theres a connection there… Edit- The disclaimer attached about pep boys policy to replace the transmission if it’s an internal component issue was not included in the original estimate and only given to me after refusing services. And paying the 155 diagnostic fee. Very misleading. They were not forthcoming about this. Again do not service your transmission with pep boys. My experience serves as a warning. Find a local shop you can trust for repairs- this experience taught me I need to find one.

Don’t go to them for any transmission issues. I had my car inspected for a faulty transmission oil temp sensor and their “fix” was replacing the whole transmission plus other repairs for almost 7k. Labor costs around 3k. On top of that my car waited in their lot for 2 full days before they had “someone who could work on the transmission”. They told me the whole trans had to be replaced because the sensor is an internal component which made me believe there was no way around it until I re-reviewed their policy. Any internal issues found, even if the component can be individually serviced all they can do is replace the WHOLE TRANSMISSION. I felt this was not properly explained to me over the phone. Needless to say I took the car and ran. A replacement oil temp sensor for my vehicle costs 43 bucks by the way…
