I brought my car in multiple times only to be told the mechanic had left early for the day or was on site but was unable to service my vehicle. I tried calling in advance and making appointments, but this did not solve the issue. When the mechanic was finally available (on my 5th visit) I was told there would not be any guarantees my tire could be patched the same day.

This Pep boys did not keep me informed about the work. They ordered the wrong part, but did not let me know. So a job that should be 1 day is over a week and not completed

Giving 5 starts unexpectedly because Troy at the front was so kind, helpful and professional even when others including myself were frustrated and unprofessional. As a woman, some places take advantage of you with car issues and prices. Troy made me feel respected and much more comfortable, assuring that my car actually needed new wipers to pass inspection. He was right and I really appreciate his help and professionalism. Thanks, Troy and sorry for all the grief!

On 10/15/24 I had the best experience I’ve ever had at any car/tire shop. The PSI light came on indicating that my driver back tire had low pressure, but the pressure stayed steady during my car ride. I decided to get it checked out as we have a roadtrip coming up (we rarely ever drive in the city). I explained the situation and waited about 30-45 min while they assessed my cars tires. I was called to the front desk and a man named Al explained all that he did to ensure my tire was ok. He not only visually checked for holes, but also took the tire off of the car and put it in water to see if it would bubble up. When it didn’t, he proceeded to fill my psi to 36.5 on all of my tires. He even showed me on his machine that the light was green, showing that there were no issues with the tires. He explained all of this with enthusiasm and a tire shop lexicon I’d never heard before. He assured me that everything was ok and that if the light didn’t come off to come back and he’d see if the sensors needed work. The light was off when I got in to drive the car, so I didn’t have to return. I wish I had, though, so that I could’ve thanked him even more for his above and beyond service and maybe even tipped him if I remembered to carry cash. I regret that I didn’t do that, so I’m instead hoping that corporate sees this review and gives him the raise/promotion/praise he so deserves for his obvious dedication to his job and customer service. I wish there were more people like Al in the world! We will return to this pep boy’s location for every tire need we have as long as we’re living in Philly and will send all of our friends/family there.

Poor experience, after getting car inspected and new tires put on, I had to go back 3x for a problem that was created while my car was there. Manager Raul found it appropriate to crack jokes after I had spent $2200 and spent 3 weeks trying to correct their problem on my car.

Sell old tires as new. They refuse to replace when tires has been sitting in their shop for over a year. But pro tire pluggers.

This used to be my go-to, out of convenience, a decade ago. Getting the service right was almost always a chore, but I was willing to put in time to challenge the nonsense I sometimes got, so I made it work. Fast forward to this weekend, I realized I needed an inspection, and everyone else was closed, so I reluctantly called PB North Broad. Andre introduces himself, and immediately I think... This guy talks a good talk. He's very clear about availability and expectations, so I drop my van off. The whole area has changed and so has this Pep Boys. No one's looking stressed, Andre is cool as a cucumber, and tells me he'll call before any work needs to be done. The next day, I get text updates with pictures! And it's no BS. I even see if he'll try and upsell me on brakes that I know I don't need yet, and he gave a very informed and honest answer. Genuinely impressed! I wish I could still walk here from home in five minutes like I used to, but maybe I'll make the trip on SEPTA next time.

Troy is awesome. He helped us with a flat tire in a pinch and got us back on the road when everywhere else was closed. Troy was super friendly, attentive, and his team was diligent in the work. Fantastic experience. Highly recommend Troy and team at the North Broad location.

I called to get an inspection, they say come in by four and make an appointment online. I made an appointment, and drove out of my way to come in. The refused to service me, saying it’s first come first serve, even though they told me to make an appointment. Apparently someone elses care failed, so that means I don’t get inspected. They said come tomorrow morning. I’m a teacher so this was my only time. Why didn’t they tell me I my appointment was cancelled? No Idea.

I dropped off my car for an 8 AM appt to get new tires put on, but no one even touched my car until after 11AM. It was difficult to get any information from staff about when my car would be done. When I finally came back to get my car around 3 PM (almost 7 hrs later), one of my tires was missing a lug nut. I asked the staff to please find it or tell me what had happened, and a staff accused me of being “crazy.” While my experience wasn’t ideal, the staff did a completely adequate job replacing the tires and packing up the old tires, and for that I am appreciative. I would recommend this facility for only emergency/last second situations.

Truly excellent experience. Got a flat midday; they rushed my car to get it finished on top of all their bookings, so I could make it to an important work event back in Connecticut the next morning. Very professional, also kind. Left with a smile. High recommend.

I had 4 tires installed + alignment and they were fast and affordable. Dropped my car off after 9am and picked it up within 2 hours. They were super nice too, will use them again

I took my car to this location for a routine oil change. After a couple of weeks, the "change oil" light came back on and I noticed a funny smell in my car. I took the car back to find out that there had been an issue with the way the technician closed the cap when they had replaced the oil and oil had leaked all over my engine and bottom of my car. These things happen, I get it, but it's how the team responded that is leading me to write this review. Specifically, the assistant manager of the location, Andre. Andre agreed to see me without an appointment and quickly discovered the issue. He spent 3+ hours rectifying the issue, cleaning my entire engine by hand, and re-changed the oil. The car is running as good as new. Andre exemplified what it means to provide care to a customer and I am truly thankful for his time and effort.

Never get your car inspected here. I was charged $900 more than I initially signed for due to “necessary” fixes as they said I failed inspection. Looking at my receipt I was charged $100 for a warranty I never agreed to, amongst other things.
