EDIT: The clips that they lost and replaced were the wrong size and have all since fallen out. I have ordered more at my own expense. Thank you, Pep Boys! My boyfriend can fix cars and even has a lift, but he’s so busy and I didn’t want to inconvenience him. So, I took my car to Pep Boys for a simple oil change. What problems could that cause? I was at Pep Boys for an hour, and the car was given a clean bill of health. As I drove home, I thought I could smell something, but I wasn’t sure. The next day as I sat in rush hour traffic, my car smelled so bad that I had to put the windows down. I texted my boyfriend who knew exactly what was wrong. He told me to turn the motor off and pop the hood. The oil cap was never replaced, and oil was EVERYWHERE. I called Pep Boys, and they told me to call 1-800-PEP-BOYS and have the car towed in. I waited for two hours until the estimated arrival time had passed, saw that a tow truck still wasn’t even dispatched, and drove the car to Pep Boys myself. By this time, they were closed for the day. The next day around 1:30 pm, the car was ready for pickup. My boyfriend drove me there, went in with me, and asked me to pop the hood when we returned to the car. I popped the hood, and he immediately went back into the store. I didn’t understand what was happening because the hood was still down. Apparently, he saw the front of the car shift when I pulled the hood release because they didn’t bother replacing the clips they removed. The car was still covered in oil in many places, and a man came out to replace the clips and remove additional oil. I was two hours late for my second job, missed a whole day of work the next day at my first job, and was compensated with two free oil changes in the future. Who in their right mind would return to Pep Boys after that??? The employee told me that hardly anyone does Google reviews for them anymore, so here’s your Google review. Pep Boys - some assembly required. 🙄

Excellent service - new rear brake pads and rotors were installed in a timely fashion and the price was $160 below the original estimate. Very pleased and highly recommend Pep Boys.

Jim Ferrari helped me tremendously with my Buick! He was extremely accommodating and even stayed late to make sure I could take my car home the night it was done. I’ll definitely be coming back!

The Pep Boys in Pleasant Hills, PA is a great place to have your vehicle service performed. I have an old 2004 Dakota and they have been very patient and understanding with me concerning my truck. I have received excellent service and a willingness to work with me when the problem seems to be apparent but won't go away. I recommend this business to all who are looking for a reliable and friendly service shop.

If i could give 0 stars to this store, i would have. Partner took car down to get inspected, they said it would be a 3 hour wait so he rescheduled it in person. He called to confirm the appointment for me, they never put it in the system. So he rescheduled it over the phone. We took the car down for the appointment that he scheduled, and they didn’t have it in the system. So they just took it as a walk in. They didn’t really explain what was wrong. Just said “you need your rear brakes replaced and some exhaust work” but didn’t explain what would need to be done on the exhaust. So partner called them today for me while i was working and they said “everything that you need to know is on the paperwork” (it’s not). And were just generally very rude over the phone.

Pepboys in pleasent hills always comes to my rescue with all my vehicles. From inspections to repairs they have gotten me in, got the job done on a moments notice, keeping me from being stranded. James, the service manager, knows the true meaning of customer service. Thanks for everything you have done to keep me on the road. Pep boys is lucky to have an employee like him and definitely should be recognized for his commitment to his customers and company.
