I was in the Outer Banks when I noticed an issue with my wheel bearing and was worried about making it back to Nashville. I called Pep Boys in Raleigh, NC that night, and they reassured me they had the part in stock and could get me in the next day on a Saturday. I scheduled an appointment, and they had me back on the road in just three hours after replacing the wheel bearing and assembly. Their professionalism and efficiency gave me peace of mind for the rest of my trip. Highly recommend them for quick, reliable service!

Don’t go here!!!! I had to replace my tires due to wear and tear and took my car to Pepboys. After paying nearly $500 to replace my tires, literally as I drove out of the parking lot, the tire pressure light came on. I thought nothing of it until the light came on again the next day. When I checked it, one of the tire’s pressure was at 18 (instead of 32-36)! I pumped the tire and thought it was resolved. Two days later the tire light came on again and when I checked, the tire pressure was at 16!! I cannot believe that I paid $500 for new tires and I’m having more problems with my tires than ever. No matter how desperate you are, this place will only cause more headaches. Do not go here!!!!!!

Had AC repaired this summer and spent around $2000. Noticed the unit was not blowing cold anymore around 1 month after service. We were slow to get back and now they claim the warranty of their work is expired. No help on pricing. Will not spend anymore $$$ here.

DON’T GO HERE…PLEASE, unless you need an oil change or something extremely simple. Daughter’s car got towed here after breaking down nearby, tried to charge her $1,100 and after 3-1/2 days had done zero work. In addition, could not locate a hose that was “discontinued”, and had no idea how they were going to fix the car. We then had it towed to our normal mechanic (Kennan’s in Raleigh), it was fixed a day later for $500 and NONE OF THE PARTS QUOTED BY PEP BOYS WERE THE ACTUAL PROBLEM, NOT ONE. They are CLUELESS, PLEASE DON’T GET RIPPED OFF HERE.

Appointment at 11:00am car was " done" at 5:00pm for a wheel alignment. Steering wheel is way skewed to the left and if you have it straight, you get off roads to the right side. $99 waisted as I will n ot take it back. Car is way worst than is was before service.

They saved me hundreds of dollars when I went in for a second opinion concerning my brakes! The last place said I needed to get them fixed ASAP! Pep boys told me there was nothing wrong with my brakes (I do still have some unrelated issues with my vehicle which I will weigh out). Thanks for being honest!

Bad experience. Was told I had to wait a couple of hours for my service but after waiting two hours was told my service would not be done because they miscalculated time.

I was very disappointed of the Davis Cir, Raleigh, NC 27613’s guys’ service. I went down this store to change my engine oil by an online appointment (b/c this store is located not far from my home). During the service hour, a store associate called me to offer that the one of my rear brake light bulbs is gone and asked me do you wanna replace it by us? So I said that thank you for your offer but I can replace it by myself. After the store is done my requested service and called me back my vehicle is ready to pick up and went to pick my vehicle. After a few days, I knew they stolen working rear bulbs when I replaced my fired brake light bulb, such as a reverse light bulb and so on. Guys, please don’t do this for other customers’ vehicles.

About a month ago I bought 4 new tires from this store and they told me that the tires were guaranteed for 65 thousand miles. After 8 thousand miles the sidewalls of the tires started to tear. When I went to the store they did not accept that there was a tire defect and did not help. They help when selling the product but after they are done with you they do not care about you. I paid $720 for tires that are only for one month.

My family and I have been coming here a long time, well before they made the switch to service only. We would get parts and service from this location before any other location or business. However, today I took my family car in for an oil change, alignment, and brake inspection early in the day, around 10AM as it was Labor Day and I was sure the guys here were eager to get home. I will say David at the front is awesome and has never failed to help but I did not have the pleasure of working with him. The team working on my car only started when I returned and asked about the status at 4PM, an hour before they said they close. I asked if the tech would be able to finish everything within the hour as I could come back next week and I was told he’d be eager to take on my car before they close. Long story short, I paid $140 for an oil change, two pictures of four of my brakes, and a computer generated report on the measurements I need to know, to feel confident in my brake inspection, not to mention they did not complete an alignment that I was told would be completed by close of business. When I asked about the exact measurements for my inspection the man told me what was on the paper was “default” and that the tech probably doesn’t remember the actual numbers and there’s a “language barrier” to ask him. In the picture you can see all the “7s”. The tech did minimum work and the team lied to me about their confidence on simple jobs that I would have brought to them in the morning had they been honest. Unfortunately my family’s many years of support for pep boys has come to a dissatisfied end.

Pep Boys has been in my family for nearly 100 years, because my grandfather handled the life insurance for Manny, Moe and Jack, when they resided in Los Angeles. Like a family, I can always rely on Pep Boys for the best parts,. knowledgeable, efficient service, and warm, customer-oriented treatment, whenever I am in the shop. A special shout-out to Sal Mendoza for being an outstanding Service Manager at the Raleigh location. Always a pleasure to work with him and his people.

We were visiting Raleigh just for 24hrs and ran into brake trouble late on Saturday afternoon. We were struggling to find a shop that could assist us on Sunday as we needed to return home that day. Fortunately for us Michele and David, at the Davis Circle location were working and got us the next morning. They got brake problem diagnosed quickly, got it repaired and we were back on the road! Be very cautious at this location. I came in for inspection of low tire pressure from tires recently purchased and installed here. Thankfully no leaks and likely lower pressure from the temperature change. I was told however that my rear brake pads and rotors were "metal on metal" and needed to be replaced and that my front brake pads and rotors were close to needing to be replaced. I informed them that I had both my front and rear brakes replaced earlier this spring (front rotors and pads and rear pads because at the time my rear rotors were inspected and found to be satisfactory). I asked what the measurements were on the pads, thinking I would need to submit a warranty claim with the shop that did my brakes. The employee said he would go ask and get a new report with the details. When he came back he said that my rear pads in fact had plenty of life on them and the front pads only had slight wear but my rotors were scored and should be replaced. I asked where the "metal on metal" assessment came from and I was told that the technician heard a brake noise when pulling the car into the garage. I would be very cautious and ask for specifics if this location offers add on services based on their inspection.

Made an appointment online and specifically said I was sure the rear bearing is broken. After “diagnosing” the car, the employee said the car needed an alignment and the noise was from my tires’ connection with the road. It took 3 1/2 hours to finally get the car back. As I was driving away, the same noise was heard. I called immediately to have them assure me they really did check the bearing because I had three kids in the car and we were going to be driving two hours home that day. He said they definitely checked and it was fine. Thankfully, we made it home, but lo and behold, after being looked at by another shop, I was absolutely correct in the first place. The bearing was broken. I’m frustrated and horrified at the lack of concern they had about something that could have turned into a serious situation with kids in the car. I’m also mad at the additional expenses and time I have had to spend by having to go to another shop to get the work done properly.
