I had never gone to PepBoys for an inspection. I needed one fairly quick and the manager Mike got me inI was able to wait. He also had wipers installed and made sure when I found they werent working 100% that they immediately corrected. Very impressed and exceeded expectations. Would highly recommend!

Great fast service, got my car inspected and was told 1 hour which was quicker than I expected but then got a text only 30 minutes later. Very quick and easy. Great service.

I have been to 2 other garages for my truck who each did very expensive work without actually fixing the issue. These gentlemen fixed the issue quickly and for a reasonable price. I was hesitant to try the corporate shop after the experience that I had with private ones but I have to say that I am thoroughly impressed and will certainly be back.

The gentlemen who work at Pep Boys are the best. Tell you what needs to be done and don't upsell you. Loved the people and the service. Tried another place first and they wanted to charge me 3x what pep boys said. Glad I said no and tried pep boys. They changed my oxygen sensor and got me back on the road. Real mechanics doing great work for the everyday working man. Thank you.

I brought my Mini Cooper here for 3 separate appointments over 3 weeks and each time the service and repair quality were fantastic. They saved me $100 over the Pep Boys in Henrietta, because they understood the repair better. Mike Castronova–the Irondequoit Pep Boys' manager–and Bart, are both great to work with. As another reviewer noted, the people, not the brand, dictate the quality of service. These guys are honest, cheerful, and knowledgeable. My Mini Cooper started having multiple issues all at once, all causing the car to fail inspection. I actually initiated these repairs at Henrietta Pep Boys and the experience was so poor and frustrating, I called this Irondequoit location for help. Mike took over (without criticizing the other location which also impressed me–he's very professional) and everything from there on out suddenly started moving smoothly. This location, for me, was more capable, friendly, prepared, and prompt with service, over the Henrietta location. Over three different service appointments (battery/ABS sensor repair/state inspection) Mike and Bart had my car driven promptly back at my appointment time, and service was completed quickly and within the estimated time they gave me. And they were pretty busy for two of those appointments. Mini Coopers are great but tricky to service. Each time, I drove away with a car that felt very professionally repaired. My Mini is driving perfectly again, thanks to these guys. The car was treated well, carefully parked after service, and someone was always quickly available to talk to me with updates, etc while I waited. I will definitely return for more services! NOTABLE: 1) Ask for Mike or Bart. They are pros who care and they'll make the difference in your experience. 2) Irondequoit Pep Boys has techs on staff that drive imports–my tech drives an Audi–and I think that made a difference in how he approached servicing my Mini. 3) IMO, this location (Mike) is more accurate at estimating a repair. I still don't know how Henrietta estimated an additional $100 over these guys, and maybe if I had done the repair there instead, the final cost would have been less, but an accurate estimate is critical for planning (and building trust in the repair center). Mike nailed the estimate each time, for which I was quite grateful. 5) There is a new and very nice diner/steak house right next door to this Irondequoit location, which is a great bonus. You can linger there, too. Also a Chik-fill-A just a short walk up the road. A Starbucks , Chipotle, and a Target a little further up. And Atlas Eats is a $5 Uber ride away. I just went to the Walmart right behind Pep Boys and picked up groceries while I waited. My car was ready before I had even checked out. Pep Boys saved me over $1,000 compared to the Mini dealer. Going to them, I knew the brand was built around 'affordable repairs' and therefore I would probably get pretty basic service. Corporate has to cut some corners to keep costs low. I was willing to accept that, since keeping costs down was my priority. But in the end, I didn't end up feeling like any corners were cut, nor was the service 'basic' (except their waiting room, haha). It was such a pleasant surprise, honestly. And again, I do think it's directly because of Mike's commitment to building a loyal customer base for his store.

Do NOT waste your time!!! We scheduled an appointment at 3:30 pm for a 6pm NYS inspection. My 16 year old drives 30 minutes to the shop and arrives early at 5:45 pm and is told they can’t do it because their inspector is about to leave! Seriously, who the heck is running this place. Complete disrespect for the customer without so much as a phone call to inform the customer. Awful!!!

Horrible .. even asked for a division manager to call which was on 12/26 and it's now 1/8 and still haven't heard from one .. but they hace no problem taking money

Called December 5th to book for oil change. Called to confirm time and they say they don't have me on schedule. Only place I Called and I juts went back in call history to 5th so I know it was Pep Boys.

I made an appointment online for Friday, december 27th at 5:30 pm. When I arrived, they informed me that they did not have a technician available at that time to do the New York State inspection. They recommended going the next day, around 10 am, that they would do it at some point during the day. On Saturday, I left the car there around 8 am, at 11 am they called me and left a voice message. The car did not pass the inspection. They included an SMS with a link to their website with videos showing the operation of the defective parts. I called them, they gave me more details, the total price, and I authorized them to do what was necessary. Around 3:30 pm they called me saying that the car was ready, even with the new inspection sticker. I went to make the payment and pick up the car. They gave me detailed documentation of the costs and value of the parts, information that they also sent to my email. I found the car just as I left it: CLEAN, with no stains on the seats or the exterior.

If I could give this place 1 star I would. I have never once left a google review until today. Brought my car here for 4 new tires, the car had 0 other issues. The first time i showed up at my appointment time they told me that they were not aware of my appointment and very rudely told me “well that’s not getting done today”. I had to come back days later to accommodate them for another appointment time. When i got my vehicle back my car was violently shaking so bad i thought the wheels were going to fall off. The tire pressures were ranging from 32-45 on all different tires. Brought it back and Lisa insisted my car was not shaking whatsoever and was very rude to me. I had to leave my car here overnight for 3 days for someone to have it looked at and fixed. Finally another gentleman, Bart took my concerns seriously and informed me the car in fact did have a defective tire and that they would have it fixed right away. When they called me the next day to pick up my car they had to inform me they CRASHED MY CAR while they were driving it. Would not recommend this place to anyone. I will say, Bart is the only person here that I had a good interaction with and he was the ONLY person to take my concerns seriously. I would give Bart and only Bart 5 stars, he has a great attitude.

This place is completely incompetent. They have had my brother’s car since Saturday to complete a NYS inspection and change 4 tires. After the Saturday he dropped it off, my brother called on Tuesday multiple times, where there was no answer. Finally after the 5th call, someone answered and told him that they would “look into it” and seemed to have no idea who he was or what he was calling about. They said they would call him back; never did. He had to reach out several times again until finally someone communicated that an employee quit, and as a result they were backed up. Mind you they have had his car since Saturday. Wednesday my brother calls them again, and one of the employees (Burt or Bart) tells him that they don’t have the 4th tire of the kind they sold him on Saturday, but they have 4 of a more expensive type of tire. I then tell my brother to take his car somewhere else because this is ridiculous. The employee heard me and said “Well ma’am, if you’d let me finish…(chuckle chuckle)” First of all, finish what, you were done speaking and baiting my brother to say he’ll pay for the more expensive tires. But that’s my assertion. The employee then offers to charge him the same price as the original tires they sold him. No other discount is offered…and again they have had his car since Saturday and it is now Wednesday at this point. Now today, Thursday at 12pm, my brother calls asking for an update and the guy says “oh well we thought you were going to be available later, so I delayed my guy on working on it, but he’ll get to it” and offered us no estimate until pressed. He then says it should be ready within an hour and a half. THEY HAVE HAD THE CAR SINCE SATURDAY, IT IS NOW THURSDAY. They have had 5 days to change four tires and complete an inspection. I am writing this review as a disgruntled family member who has had to take time out of my busy schedule and help my brother who is in the medical field get to and from work as a result of their incompetence. Also, I frankly do not appreciate the condescension and defensiveness that was directed towards me for suggesting to my brother to take his car elsewhere due to their lack of communication and attention. The service here is nonexistent and completely unprofessional. Do yourself a favor and avoid the unnecessary spike in blood pressure and take your car somewhere else to be serviced.

***WARNING*** do not bring your car here. My normal mechanic’s inspection machine was down. Brought mine in for an inspection and a light bulb. Was told it needed a stable link and tie rod to pass. I had reservations but was in a pinch so I went ahead with the work ($500) Less than a day and half later my front brakes where grinding so loud I though my front end was going to fall apart (brakes and rotors all around where done a year ago.) I called back was told to come in at 4 the next day. Upon arrival I was told the garage was full. So, I remade the appointment for Saturday. At this point I realized there was a half inch of metal missing all around from the rotar on the front driver side. I was told $400 something dollars to fix and when I said there’s no way my brakes are bad, zero issue before going here the service manger, Mike said what do you think we shaved your brake pads or something!? I said I don’t know something was done wrong and that my car just passed inspection and was noted that my brakes passed. He said I guess my tech missed that. This is not a game! This isn’t Monopoly money! Now I have to drive my children around in unsafe cars! Corporate will hear about this! Do your self a favor and bring your vehicle to a real mechanic!!!

Don’t even bother making any online appointments you will just get a call 30 minutes before your scheduled appointment you made days prior just for them to tell you they won’t be able to service your vehicle completely waste of energy dealing with this company 👎🏾

So I came in for a 1 new tire. Everyone that came in after me was seen and serviced before e and completed. Ihave been here for at least four hours and I'm still here. This is ridiculous. The employees have attitudes and they cater to their people everything on their own time, the service here is no good

Took my car for inspection and was told there were brake cables need to be replaced for over 500. Had taken it to another place for inspection and no cables had to be replaced. Pet boys tried to add on something to get money that didn't need replacing.Be careful when taking there and get second opinion so you don't get raked on money......

I scheduled an appointment online. I walked outside an hour later and my car was still sitting where I was parked. I went in and asked how much longer and the rep told me “not much longer”. I reiterated my appt was an hour ago. After another 15 they finally took it to the back. I waited another 45 minutes for them to send me an inspection report with the only thing showing evaluated was my battery and that I needed a new one. My appointment was for a battery replacement. I prepared to pay and it took another 10 min to figure out how to allow me to pay. I paid, started my car and put it in reverse only to get an indicator that my hood was open. I look at the hood and it’s half open and half closed. I went and got the advisor, popped my hood. There was a screw driver left on top of my engine. I was throughly annoyed because are they not checking before closing the hood and even if you didn’t, if I got the indicator, so did the mechanic. So he left it like that?! I will never go there for service again. My car can break down in front of pep boys and I will tow it somewhere else!

Worst service ever. Don't go there. Dropped my car off at 9am for tires. Had an appointment. It was supposed to be a few hours. They never got to it. Wasted the whole day and had to come get my car.
