Got a new set of tires at a great price. They send you pictures of everything showing the issues that you have. They were fast, friendly and did a great job. Will go back.

I called specifically for my EV battery coolant. I was told "yes we service ev vehicles" I arrive and explain the best I can with my little technical knowledge that the coolant for my EV battery is low. I then wait for 2 hours and they did in fact change my coolant...for my engine? Not the battery? Not the thing that my dashboard tells them is wrong? And when I get my car back, that message is still there. I check under the hood. Sure enough my coolant levels were the exact same. I go back in and explain "Hey my coolant level for my battery is the exact same" only for the man behind the counter try to gaslight me and said "I said engine coolant" No. I said for my battery. He has to consult with another person who says they don't service EV hybrid coolant. I will not be taking my business there again. An awful experience so if you have an EV vehicle steer clear of this place.

My experience with Pep Boys was a complete waste of time and money. My car's AC had stopped working, and since I have a Discount Tires credit card, I decided to give Pep Boys a try. I had already refilled the AC gas myself, but it only lasted a few days, so I thought a professional inspection would solve the issue. When I arrived, they charged me $50 for an AC inspection and another $333 for “service,” bringing the total to $398.70. I understood it might take some time since I had no appointment, so I waited the entire day. They claimed a part was damaged but said they wouldn’t charge me for it, though honestly, I now feel that was just BS. All they did was refill the AC gas — something I’d already done myself for $189 (the gas itself costs about $100 at O’Reilly’s). By the time I realized I’d paid hundreds for nothing, I was already out the door. A few days later, the AC stopped working again. I went back, and they told me the AC tech wasn’t there. I scheduled an appointment for 3 PM the next day, only to return hours later and find my car still untouched. When they finally looked at it, they told me I’d need to leave it with them or bring it back early in the morning because it required extra time to “find the leak.” Honestly, it was a slap in the face, but I just wanted a proper diagnosis at that point. I booked a 9 AM appointment on another day. I arrived right on time, handed them my keys, and waited another hour before asking what was going on, only to find out the AC tech wouldn’t even be there until 10. After all that, they diagnosed a damaged condenser within 30 minutes — a supposedly common problem in my model. They wanted nearly $1,000 to replace it: $510 for the condenser, $365 for labor, and $64 for a warranty. And as for my previous inspection cost? The only thing it covered was another gas refill, but only if I paid them for this new work. In total, I paid nearly $400 for absolutely nothing. Pep Boys inflated the charges for an inspection that was inefficient and kept wasting my time. I ended up buying a $70 condenser on Amazon, which a local mechanic installed — and it works fine. I wouldn't trust Pep Boys again, and I’d warn others to think twice before going there if you value your time, money, and patience.

For Reiley! I have been bouncing back and forth from autozone to OReiley but no one wants to help me replace a new battery. They are saying because it is a hybrid car, they don’t do it. Luckly I found the Peps Boys. They close at 2000 and I walked in at 1915. I know it’s little late, but Reiley is still happy and provides me the service. Thank you so much!

The wait time was terrible for the service I had done. It took over three hours to change four tires and get an oil change. I have been to many other shops and had this done in half the time. I understand different services take different times but I watched several customers be complete with their service while I waited. The website with updates is very time delayed and doesn't reflect current status of the vehicle. There was no coffee or any entertainment in the waiting area. Communication should be at a minimum hourly on the status of a customers vehicle especially if they have to wait. Very dissatisfied with this experience.

Came to change my two front tires. Scheduled an appointment for it, at 8 in the morning. Workers were 20 minutes late. Took them 2 hours to change 2 front wheels, they weren’t busy, only 2 guys in the lobby. My car alignment was perfectly fine prior to the procedure, and as they were giving the car back the employe suggested to make an alignment for addition 100$. Which is absurd, wouldn’t recommend this shop to anyone. Thanks for ruining my alignment in hopes of making a few dollars.

DO NOT GO HERE. BE WARNED. If I could give this place 0 stars, I would. HORRIBLE customer service. They are very rude over there, and they are liars. A week before I even came to this location, I went to the one in Mission Gorge to get an oil change. These guys at Genesee, specifically LUIS, stated that they topped off my oil for my car and my car was in bad shape due to a lack of oil changes. NOPE. LIARS. I came to this location for further maintenance on the car. FUNNY how the manager, ANTONIO and his sidekick LUIS, lie and fail to even follow their own policy online for refunds. They WILL give you the run around, and they WILL deny you a refund despite what their website says.

Had an appointment at 11am for a flat tire repair (nail). Not only it took them 2 and half hours to fix it but they also broke the tire pressure sensor so added 30 more minutes to fix the damage!! And when leaving, I realized that they didn’t put back my spare tire and the wheel cap! DO NOT GO THERE!!

Horrible experience, don't think I will be coming back. I visited Pepboys to get new tires and an oil change, and the next day when driving the car I got a bunch of warning lights so I was concerned, and took it back to Pepboys to get looked at. Waited there and they told me that I need a new vvt solenoid and that the warning lights kept coming back. When I went to get my receipt they threw in another item, a vvt spool, and ultimately it would cost me 1200. I take the car off the lot with an appointment to come back after the parts arrive, but I find that I have no warning lights when I left the lot. I reschedule for almost 2 weeks later and still no warning lights. At this point I take it to O'Reilly's and I'm not even coding, so they basically lied to me and tried to have me install parts I didn't need. I go back and try to get a refund for the man-hours and parts they pre-charged me for and they outright refused me and told me that they can't refund me. Their website says their is a restocking fee for special order parts, but they are still refusing to refund me FOR PARTS THAT THEY CLEARLY KNOW I DO NOT NEED. I have driven it for 300+ miles since then and still am not coding but they insist the warning lights will come back. Awful, deceitful tactics and they don't even follow their own policies in attempts to hold your money hostage.

I had 10 service maintenance coupons, used 9 of them, they charged 10 , but performed only 9 services. Also you go there and tell you 90 minutes oil change, its actually 3-4 hours waiting. Then they give you a complete list of things they want to replace from tires, battery, break pads to windshield wipers, strut,..... not recommending to anyone.

I went in for a vehicle inspection, and the service advisor told me that my car’s brake pads were at 2/32" and failed the inspection, even after I asked them to take a second look since I suspected the brake pads had more life left. I had the brake pads checked at a different shop, and sure enough, the thinnest one was at 4/32". It would have been nice if Pep Boys had passed the inspection initially and advised me to replace the brake pads soon, instead of trying to sell me the replacement job during the inspection.

I brought my car because it was overheating they told a 100 dollars to diagnose the problem once they found the issue it was some hoses needed to be replaced it was 600 dollars then it was something else the water pump it became 2000 thousand dollars then they said no it was a clogged radiator now it's over three thousand dollars. I paid them for the repairs and had to tow my car home because not only was the car not fixed but I feel it was worse because I drove it there and had to tow it home after the work that was done it still overheating and the manager there Antonio has no customer service skills.

they have online appointment scheduling, but the waiting time for a oil changes/alignment etc is 1-2 hours, Riley is the best customer service representative in the service desk, he is knowledgeable and fair with pricing and service, he explains everything in easy to understand terms, and he tries to save you unnecessary expenses for your car, i will definitely keep going to this location if they continue this excellent service.

I recently visited Pep Boys in Clairemont, California and I must say, I was thoroughly impressed with their professionalism and level of customer service. From the moment I drove up, they took care of me and my car right away, going above and beyond to ensure that all of my needs were met. I was pleasantly surprised by the little extras that they provided, as well as the reasonable price for everything that I had done. Vince, in particular, went above and beyond for me, working around my schedule for dropping off and picking up my car. He made sure that everything was in perfect working order and that I felt well taken care of throughout the entire process. As a woman, I often feel like I am being taken advantage of at car dealerships, but at Pep Boys in Clairemont, I felt respected and valued as a customer. The staff was incredibly professional and used descriptive terms to explain everything that was being done to my car. I highly recommend Pep Boys in Clairemont to anyone in need of car maintenance or repairs. You will not be disappointed with the level of service and care that you receive. I will definitely be returning in the future for all of my car needs. Yeah because of them I can get back-and-forth from my work with a good car.
