I was recommended Pete's by a co-worker. I've been to several other local shops with my 2008 Colorado. All the other local shops have disappointed. They either do the work poorly and/or are not willing to do certain projects. Pete's was willing to do everything I asked, including the things the other shops said they couldn't do. They even finished shotty work that another shop on Irving Park said "it's as good as it gets". Their prices were super competitive. My only regret is not finding this place sooner. Thanks Pete's!

Brought my Toyota in today for brakes and an oil change. Owner was really nice and helpful and walked me through what needed to be changed. Price was reasonable and they were able to do it same day. Great customer service and service 👍🏽

I've been going here for many years. Pete and Tim are honest, fair and very thorough with their work. They've got a team of mechanics that do great work. Pete's Auto is an old school neighborhood staple. When you go into the place it's like a throwback of sorts to the old auto shops of the 60's. The walls are covered with plaques and pictures from Pete's Auto sponsoring neighborhood Little League Baseball teams and plaques noting that their business is rated highly with the Better Business Bureau. It's a small business gem in our neighborhood and I have never walked away dissatisfied with the work they've done. They obviously are doing something right or they wouldn't be in business for all these years. Keep up the good work guys and if you have never been to Pete's Auto, go there, you won't be disappointed. Tell 'em Tom sent you!

Best dam mechanic in the whole city. Very fair prices and excellent service. Pete and Tim are great guys who treat their customers tremendously. They will do everything and anything they can to help you. They go out of their way to help the customer and take care of them. It's also a really fun atmosphere at the shop. Couldn't recommend them any more. I would highly recommend them to everyone.

This place is amazing. 3.5L ecoboost needed a timing chain (9’) and there wasn’t a shop that was willing to touch it. Got referred to this place and after speaking with owner and mechanic, I was sold. They replaced everything cam phasers, water pump oil pump, while it was opened. Plugs while we were in there. It runs like new again. No rattle and pure power restored. Definitely will recommend this place.

We were looking for a new mechanic in the area. We just moved. We had our car not start and we called. He had someone drive over to look very quickly. Pete was professional and didn't randomly charge us. We're excited to work with him moving forward.

if you want your car to actually get fixed and at a fair price, then this is where you come. I was referred by a friend when another mechanic (midas on irving near xpwy) was telling me with all the confidence in the world that my car needed a new engine to the tune of thousands… Pete looked at my car himself, and though I incidentally did set myself up to be taken (volunteering too much info as I was in a panic), he was honest in a way that I have Never seen in another mechanic aside my father. He explained what could actually be the problem and how they would go about confirming it. I then left my car for a small while and returned to it in perfect running order. All it needed was a new gas cap! And here this other mechanic, of which also attempted with great effort to rip me off in a diagnostic test, was still pushing that I needed to replace the engine. My car ran perfectly after Pete’s find. And I have taken every car since to them with excellent results every single time. I trust no one else because there is no need- these guys are THE BEST! thank you for years of excellent service Pete and Tim 🙏❤️

Pete's is amazing and the first good and honest car mechanic I have found, especially if you have an older car. They have good prices for labor and are really willing to work with you on installing your own parts and helping reduce the cost of repairs. My 2007 car had an exhaust manifold leak and two engine codes. Midas quoted $2000 and a whole new muffler and Pete's did it for $500 with just replacing the manifold/gaskets. The customer service was incredible and I have the impression that Pete genuinely wants to help his customers. The store front isn't immaculate but you'd be making a big mistake if you let that deter you. I was debating letting my car die a horrible bureaucratic death by not passing emissions, but they helped it pass and now it can live on! (for a while at least) Thanks Pete!

The owner is really nice. He explained everything to me. He was very honest and fair. Which I appreciate being a single woman who doesn't know anything about cars. Fast service. My car was done in less than 2 hours. I will definitely be going back if I have any issues in the future.

Fixed my wife's car the same day she brought it in. They diagnosed a bad alternator quickly and fixed quickly and she was able to pick it up within a few hours. This is the second time we have used them and we will be back for sure. They are honest and do great work.

Pete’s automotive inc is one of the best and most honest/ reliable mechanic shops in chicago Pete and tim are very honest and go above and beyond to help solve any car issues you have and for a very fair price. Very knowledgeable shop and the only shop I trust with my car.
