These guys are awesome. Not flashy. To the point. If they know they can fix your car, they will tell you, if they don’t think it’s a good idea to do the repair, they will tell you. And I totally respect them for that. I handed them a few thousand dollars of repairs and they gracefully declined. And I respect them for that.

Didn't take my car in for service, but reached out for a second opinion after getting an expensive estimate from a service dealer that didn't even address my problem. Darrell called me back the next morning and took a half-hour out of his busy day to address my concerns and break everything down for me. He gave me straight talk with no nonsense or sugar coating; he wasn't available to do the work, but he set me on track and recommended some great shops in town who could help me out. Seems like an honest mechanic worth his salt, 5 stars!

I just can't say enough good things about Darrell, Trevor and the rest of the team at Precision. I've been taking my 2003 Audi to them for 17 years and we've been taking our Subaru for several more. With a 21 year old car, I'm sure they've had plenty of chances to do work that wasn't really necessary. I have always found them, though, completely honest and straightforward. Work is done as discussed, in a timely manner, and they are more than happy to answer all of my questions. In addition, they're just nice guys! I will genuinely miss visiting them, as my new car isn't one of the brands they service. (I really considered sticking with one they did!) You can't go wrong here.

Vanagon with recent Subaru swap. We were from out of town with apparent engine issue. These guys are truly fantastic, found a way to make time to get us in, figured out and on the road. Very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable from the very start. First the quote Precision Motor Car gave me was far less than a few other shops I contacted in the area. They were very transparent and communicated with every step of the repair. They did an amazing job on the car with a quick turn around. After all was done and keys were in my hand, I paid what they quoted me for when I brought the car in. No hidden surprises. I'm not taking my car anywhere else, definitely recommend this business.

Called Thursday evening inquiring about having a new key synced to my Volkswagen, brought the car in Friday morning at 8:00 and by 9:00 it was done and for $100 less than what the dealer was going to charge. Now that is five star service!

I recently was visiting my daughter in Portland and needed to have my Volkswagon fixed so I could make it back to CA. Darryl was so kind and so very helpful. He and his son Trevor gave me the best customer service experience!! They went above and beyond fixing my car and were very conscientious about not charging me for unnecessary work. They diagnosed and fixed my car promptly and skillfully. I cannot recommend their services enough!!

Took my van to another shop to get the oil pressure switches replaced. That shop told me my engine oil pressure was zero and I needed a new motor even though it had less than 20k miles on it. That didn't sound to me as there were no other symptoms. I then took my van to precision motor car and they not only confirmed my oil pressure was excellent but that the other shop charged me for labor they didn't do. They saved me thousands if I had listened to the other shop and they now have a regular customer. I won't take my van anywhere else. Thank you

As a first-time Vanagon owner (1989 Westfalia), I knew that we would need a skilled mechanic and someone who could be a reliable resource. This shop was recommended by our friends who've had their Westy for over 14 years. Darrell, Trevor, and the team at Precision have been amazing. They are honest, fair, knowledgeable, and very generous with sharing information. They are always excellent about communicating with us and keeping us informed while our van has been in their care. Dropped my A4 off to diagnose and repair a peculiar problem with the infotainment system which had stopped turning on after a battery change elsewhere. Not only did Trevor set expectations and answer questions properly, but also did an excellent job explaining the problem after researching and diagnosing it correctly, followed by fixing it (these infotainment system/module/electrical problems aren't always easy to narrow down properly). The price charged was very fair for the work done. I will definitely be using Precision Motor Car for further repairs and service on my vehicle and highly recommend you do so as well.

I had a very short experience with Precision, but so far I’m extremely satisfied and will be coming back for any additional maintenance. They were straight forward with a lot of information that is not inherently obvious, and this was on my modified car. I’m thankful there are businesses like this that can be relied on in the area.

These guys are truly the best. I have had my 2011 Tiguan serviced at the shop since moving to Portland 5 years ago. They communicate proactive, make smart and honest service recommendations but most of all they have a way of making me feel like I am their only customer. This week my check engine light indicated a engine misfire. Although I didn’t have an appointment Trevor was able to get my car repaired the next day. Not only were they able to repair my car but they also improved a stressful situation by changing the oil while my car was in the shop, again all without an appointment. Skepticism when working with mechanics is natural, but with these guys leave it at the door. My experience is the longevity of your car and your best interest is always their first priority.

This review is long overdue! Precision Motors knows VW Westfalias! Darrell and Trevor are a wealth of knowledge! They are honest, hard-working, fair, considerate mechanics who get the job done and then some. They are truly passionate about what they do and it shows in their quality, workmanship and excellent communication. We trust them wholeheartedly! Having them here in Portland has been a hugely beneficial for us and we seriously don't know what we'll do when we move. They are one of a kind!

Very honest with car assessments, even cleared the annoying "check engine light" for free while letting us know when the underlying issues should be addressed. They are our goto for Audi repairs for sure.
