A great mechanic. Our mechanic retired and closed his shop. Since that time we have bounced from shop to shop but had not found our "new mechanic". My car was not driving right. I went to John at Raul's Automotive at the recommendation of a friend. He let me drop off my car and called after he had looked at it. When I went to pick up the car he brought out my old parts and showed me what was causing the vibration and the squeak. My car drives so quietly, and smoothly, I can hardly believe it. Everyone and anyone that is in need of a inspection I highly suggest to go here. Not only is the front desk still lady really sweet and knows how to work with their customers. I went to get my car inspected and I was a little late but Mr escalante still got the job done and completely made this experience for me so easy and even exciting. It's not a lot of places out there today especially mechanic shops that a woman will feel on easy but going there and fear of getting ripped off or whatever but I will tell you guys this they are on top of their stuff, they're up to date on all the latest equipment and they are just friendly reasonable people I want to thank you so much for looking at my car.

I had an excursion with upgraded brakes and it had been to two different mechanics one of them big box name that I won’t mention. Raul and his team have been the only ones to fix the issue properly and I’m happy to recommend to anyone to keep their family safe. Oh and they fixed the ac in my 24 year Excursion much needed work in this Austin heat.

Took ~2hrs to get a state inspection. No problem as I live nearby. A $3 "credit card fee" for a $18.50 inspection? That IS a problem.. Tried to pay cash but the person at the counter wouldnt take my $100 bill... what a joke. They might do great mechanic work but I'll never know because I wont support a place that nickle and dimes customers with bogus credit card fees.

We go to this place because it's right next to our apartment. Brought 2 vehicles in for oil changes and inspections. Oil changes are pricier here but we just came because it was convenient. This year we were due for our inspection, and I dropped off the car. 2 hours later they call me and say they won't inspect the car because the windows are tinted, but they won't charge me. Why did it take 2 hours? Also, I explained that my car has passed inspection here previously and my windows are tinted well within the legal limit. Not that dark at all. The lady on the phone wouldn't hear it. When I went to pick up the car, she asked, "So we passed you here before?" I said yes and there should be a record of it and she just shrugged and said no there's no record. Drove the car 6 minutes to the next oil change place and they passed it within 15 minutes. Never going back here again.

Great place and highly recommended. I took my car on very short notice for a track alignment and inspection and John helped me set it up exactly the way I wanted it. He's very knowledgeable, detail-oriented and experienced with performance cars.

Outstanding customer service and very knowledgeable mechanics. I have been trying to get my wife's vehicle into a shop for two months but time has not been on my side. John took the extra steps to make sure the moon was aligned correctly so I could pry my wife's car from her fingers long enough to get her new tires and front struts. You will be seeing me again. Thanks Everyone who made this happen.

They charge me $3.00 extra for using my credit card to pay for $17. Inspection cost. That is a ripp off. I will make sure all of the Springwoogs neighborhood knows about it.

Today was my first time back at Raul's in a long time. I typically do my own work, and there's only a few shops in Austin that I'll bring my car to, which is why it's been a while. I'm glad to say, Raul's is still a shop that I trust, and John is always great at doing what needs to be done on my cars. I can't recommend them enough!

Charged my wife $70 for a tire rotation. Also, charged her $130 for an oil change. Her vehicle does not need synthetic oil. They were rude about it, and refused to offer any relief. $70 for a tire rotation....that is criminal.

This shop is great, super attentive to customers. Took my truck there for a brake over haul and they had me in and out in a timely fashion. When I drove around I noticed the brakes still felt a bit soft to my liking so, i called and they allowed me to bring my truck back in free of charge so they could double check all the new parts and re do the brake bleed. I got picture and video updates from John. Definitely using them again. Truck runs great now.

Wow! I am so shocked at the price for an oil change at Raul’s. I normally drop off my vehicle and walk to work for oil changes and inspections and have always had a pleasant experience with customer service and pricing. However, this time I was charged an extra $50 to simply put the oil into the vehicle. When asked about the additional charge the “gentleman” stated that “it his business and he can charge whatever he wants for services”. DO NOT GO HERE. Unless you are willing to pay $150 for an oil change… or some random fee for services for the day.

Awesome people very friendly both John and Francis are caring for your need and I didn't feel as a stranger but family. I was reffered to them his word that they are professionals they will not sell you something that you don't need. I also met a friend of mine there and said he is been going there for few years, it is joy to see honest caring people. There price is good. I need emergency work and I was surprised to see how quick they took care of me. I definitely will be back. They are a gem. I recommend them for your car care. 💯👍😁

Pulled in after work and was hoping to knock out an inspection. Everything went great. Hispanic lady behind the desk was quick to greet me and the man who inspected my vehicle, who I'm assuming was THE Raul, made quick work of taking a look at my ride. My only negative criticism is, if you're gonna get frustrated with your receptionist, dont do it in front of your customers.

Went there for state inspection. The guy (Javier, I think) was professional, courteous, and thorough. My family has been doing business there since they opened in the early 80s. That means a lot to me. Update, 4/6/22. Still the same, reliable place. Very nice lady in the office.

Great locally owned, family, honest auto shop. I had my Prius battery replaced and am very satisfied. They offer full hybrid car service, don't worry they'll take care of you.

Highly recommended. Initially went to get inspection for a Tahoe and saw all the amazing cars in the bays. These guys know their stuff. Great service and done quickly. A month later had a critical need to get a car horn repaired. They diagnosed and was worst case and would likely take a couple of days. They got it done following day and son was able to take his driving test in his car. Will keep coming back for our Tahoe, Camaro and Terrain. Great to find and honest mechanic you trust.

Went into this place just to get my brakes looked at and the woman at the front desk could barely understand me. The brakes on a Chevy Volt shouldn't take 4 weeks to get done, they're the same as other cars and not like a Tesla. I ended up going to Midas where they gave me a discount and high-quality brake pads/rotors for a good price same day.
