The most honest down to earth lowest priced auto mechanic on the face of the earth I don't know how he doesn't have 5 stars from everyone but if u have an issue with ray you're the problem 100% if he is you're mechanic consider you're self very lucky!!!

They could not figure out what was wrong with my car. It took them a week of looking and never called to update me, so when I went over there to pick my car up then ray tells me it's a head gasket and he can not do the job. Then he charged me $200 dollars to get my car back. Very very poor service

Debris on I-40 ripped a hole in my transmission fluid pan. Was able to make it to our hotel. Called Ray's the next morning hoping to get help as they were not far away. Gilbert answered and said bring it in. Car lost enough fluid it was starting to struggle to shift gears in the 2.5 miles to get to the shop. Knowing my situation in needing to get home to AZ, they took it in and started working on it. They took the pan off, knocked the dent out and welded the hole to seal it. Ray went off to get the special Toyota transmission fluid it called for while Gilbert fixed the pan and inspected for other damage and issues. They had me out of there before our check out time at the hotel. The price was more than reasonable for the quick Monday morning service. And I enjoyed chatting with Ray while I waited. Just love finding a Mom and Pop shop making their neighborhood a better place.

My wife and I have gone to Ray's a long time and they have always done excellent work and Ray was always nice and an all around good guy. Normally, I would give 5 stars, but after recent interactions, I can't do that. I'm not sure what's going on with Ray himself because we haven't spoken with him. The last few times we've called, someone else has gotten on the phone. Most of the time we end up getting no one, leave messages, and we are never called back. Today, I called to get an estimate on replacing the air suspension in my car, which they have done for me before. I was told I would have to bring the car in, so I asked about bringing it in. I was then told to get a 2nd opinion by calling Amodor Brothers. First, I didn't get an "opinion" in the first place. Second, if he didn't want my business he could have just said. If they were full right now, he could have just said. Whatever the case, I called Amador Bros who told me they won't touch my car, because of age, among other things. I respect them for at least being honest and upfront with me. Again, I didn't speak to Ray himself and I hope he's okay, but whatever's going on, it doesn't seem good.

I am so Grateful for Ray's Auto. Gilbert and Ray were authentic, real, genuine, gents. They gave me a really fair price. I have been to a few auto shops over the last couple years in ABQ, and have finally found my shop

I called in regards to needing to get my brake fluid bled and he "never heard of bleeding/flushing brakes" So sure to say I just went to Firestone after that.

Got my wife’s water pump replaced, didn’t know what was going on, just that she had a leak. They diagnosed it and were very affordable compared to the research i did. Honest and kind. Felt very comfortable leaving my car here over the weekend. Also they got me in short notice which was huge for me.

I love Ray and Gilbert (Ray's son)! He's always upfront with me and is totally clear about the work that needs to be done, and the options on how to do it. I've had work done at Ray's but my mother's had extreme auto trouble and Ray's always been there for her. He's been an amazing mechanic for my family and I appreciate and value him & his shop. Plus he always has a great selection of classic cars in and I love the eye candy :D

I used Ray’s this week for a vehicle repair. Dropped the car off Monday and it was repaired by Wednesday. Even having to special order the part, right before a holiday, Rays was able to have an extremely fast turnaround. Price was fair and way cheaper than I was expecting. I would recommend this shop to anyone looking for an affordable yet quality repair.

I parked at the airport for a few months and came back to a dead battery. I don’t live in Albuquerque and was driving home (3 hours away) and stopped by Ray’s. he immediately helped me out and took a look at my car. He was incredibly kind and got us in and out in under an hour.

I was in a pinch and had to get my daughter back to college in las cruses, I had heard about ray’s at a local auto parts store in Albuquerque I went and talked to ray and he got my daughters car in right away!! They found the problem and fixed within a couple of hours!! Very honest and very reasonable in pricing!! Would absolutely recommend Ray’s to anyone needing work done on their vehicles!!!!!

Ray is amazing!! Auto zone told me something else was wrong I took it to him and he said let me run my own diagnostic turned out to be something easy he fixed. Saved me money and time. He was awesome if I lived here in town I would always bring my car back.
