REQUESTING CALL from OWNER! OCT 15 2024-Jan 13 2025.OWNER PLEASE CONTACT US! Our 2006 Mercury Mariner still sits in their Lot 4 return Trips. Lemon Transmission. Promised to be referred to Ford, Transmission under Warranty till February 2025. Left without a Car in the Cold. Told Andrew My Husband has Spinal Stenosis and cannot just walk somewhere. Cars taken before us. We are being ignored. October 15, 2024-Dec.4,2024 still no Car or complete Diagnostic. Husbands 70th Birthday in Colorado Cancelled. No Car for Thanksgiving. We brought our Mariner for repair Feb.2024. Paid over $5000 for a new Transmission.The Warranty runs out in February 2025. OCTOBER15, 2024 Car stalling with no Power today dropped off for Diagnostic.Told a wire came loose their doing and fixed it. Picked up. Two Days later returned. Power issue. Mechanic came out and checked Trans Fluid.had Felix put car in Gear after filling. Started Car as he watched and Fluid strayed up. They said itās ok now.Took Car Home. Took Car back a 3rd time a Couple Days later. Car having power issue when in traffic. Called soon after dropping off told everything fine to pick up. NOVEMBER 14, 2024 THURSDAY a 3rd time told Car is fine to pick up. Assured us ok for trip to Colorado. NOVEMBER 16, 2024 SATURDAY Today we tried to test Drive to Santa Fe before taking a 4 hour trip to Colorado from Albuquerque. No speed in traffic. Left yet a 4th message our Car is still not running right. Check Engine Light on again and says High Gear Light again. No Power in Traffic. Very dangerous. I told the Manager Andrew I am 63 and my Husband is 69 & we need a trust worthy Car to take this trip in Snow. We were assured everything was good to go. Barely made it home after stopping in front of Rio Grande Automotive today NOVEMBER 16th SATURDAY. (They were closed). I had to call River Walk Hotel in Pagosa Springs Colorado and cancel all of my Husbands Birthday plans & reservation I made over a month ago.I am extremely upset with the Service we have had. A month without a Car & everyone elseās Car taken Day after Day before us for over a month. Each time we called told a Day they would look at it, then told one more Week. Paid over $5000 for a new Transmission, yet here we are againā¦We have a LEMON Transmission and request to be referred to the FORD Dealership. Transmission is still under WARRANTY. NOVEMBER 19, 2024 MONDAYā¦very very upset. It is 10:45am. No Call back. Messages left on Answering Machine. Called & spoke with Andrew this morning. Andrew said 2-3 Weeks to a Month more to look at our Car. Many Cars in front of us. Waiting since October 15th for a Diagnostic have returned 3 times. Why are we being treated so BADLY? We have not had a dependable Car for a month.We have already paid for our Transmission why are we having to wait a 2nd Month? Why are other Cars being taken before us? Update 10:58 tried to drive Car to Rio Grande Automotive. There isnāt power & now something smells like Gas. Now smelling Gas & no Power to safely take our car back. Towed to shop by Galvan Towing... 1st return was because car was skipping when Gear change. Showed Mechanic, asked to park & change Gears with Car on. Transmission Fluid came out on top. He said it was ok & topped off with Fluid saying it was low. 2nd Return still skipping Gear left Car. Was called & told a wire was loose, their fault & fixed. 3rd time Gear skipping when driving, Dropped off and was told might be a Filter issue. Told running fine & pick up.ok to drive to Colorado. 4th time- NOVEMBER 21-23,2024 Husbands 70th Birthday trip to Colorado and Hotel reservations to River Walk Hotel in Pagosa Springs Colorado cancelled. NOVEMBER 25 Monday Called & Visited Andrew REQUESTED A CALL from OWNER! Huge amount of Transmission Fluid under front end Car Battery now dead. Showed Chris. Took Photo. NOVEMBER 28,2024-No Car for Thanksgiving DECEMBER 2,2024 Walked in. Andrew said he would speak to Mechanic next Day. Told it is Dealer that is causing Delay. No Transmission for our Car too Old? 6 months after I got an engine replacement done here, the engine failed. Another shop told me it is a ājunk yardā engine. While I was aware my WARRANTY covered a used engine, I wasnāt aware it was a junkyard engine. They have had my car for three weeks and havenāt even looked at it to determine the issue. Every week Iām told they will get to it the next week. If they didnāt HAVE to do the engine work because of the warranty, I wouldnāt have my car here. Iām having to call for updates instead of them telling me whatās going on with my car. UPDATE 1-7-25 DO NOT GO HERE. THEY STILL HAVE MY CAR, claim they are waiting for the part but made no attempt to communicate that to me until I CALLED THEM TWO WEEKS LATER TO CONFIRM THE TIMEFRAME I WAS GIVEN. THATS WHEN THEY CALLED TO ASK WHERE THE PART IS. HORRIBLE COMMUNICATION. ZERO CARE FOR CUSTOMERS, just a half assed sorry when you ask where your car is. Iām paying for a car theyāve had possession of for almost THREE MONTHS!!!!!! Iām the one calling them every single time. Wait on hold for 10+ minutes just to be told they still havenāt finished what theyāre getting paid to do. Iām reporting the to the BBB. THIS IS RIDICULOUS.

I had the same repair done twice by Rio Grande Automotive. I paid almost $700 for the first repair in January and it had to be redone in May. It was under warranty, so it didn't cost me anything the second time around. In July, I took my car to the dealership for a recall, which had nothing to do with the repairs done at Rio Grande Automotive. The dealership video records their work and when they opened the hood on my car, the repair done by Rio Grande was tied up with zip ties and in summary was not done correctly and had to be done yet again. I contacted Rio Grande, sent them the video and requested that they make good on this repair by refunding all or at least a portion of the $700 I had paid them. I was told that since the work was still under warranty, they could not refund any of my money, but they would do the work again. Why would I trust them to do the work again? They didn't get it right the first two times. I've done business with Rio Grande for a few years and have recommended them to other people as well. I don't think they're bad guys, I just expect them to make right on this situation and I don't think doing the work again is the answer. I emailed the owner twice to discuss the situation and he has never replied. In my email I stated that I'm not the type to give bad reviews so I won't. I'm giving them 3 stars because not all the work they did on my car was bad. The only reason I won't go back is simply because the owner has refused to acknowledge my concerns. BTW, Andrew gets 5 stars simply because he's always been cordial and easy to work with.

I highly recommend this auto shop. I had my car repaired due to a collision. The staff were all very helpful and professional, with special mention to Chris and Andrew. They always update me with the status of the repairs and the timeline of repair was accurate. I am very happy with the results and I will definitely go back for the maintenance of my vehicles. Again, thanks to Chris and Andrew.. we were really taken cared of.

Called Rio Grande about a quote to see how much it would cost to repair an issue on our truck. I was referred to them. The gentleman who answered was very helpful and kind. He let me know that they were busy with other repairs in their garage. I believe it was Andrew who told me he would find out if they could add my truck to the list. He put me on hold and came back and asked if I was willing to leave the truck Wednesday and it would be ready by Friday. Well, I dropped the truck off Wednesday, and by Thursday around noon, it was ready!! I was surprised and happy. I let Andrew know I'm a AAA customer as well. He added that to my bill, and it helped me alot. No one likes having their automobile breaking down because you have to pay so much to get it repaired. But if an auto shop is willing to give a discount such as a AAA discount, it certainly helps. Thank you to Rio Grande Automotive for repairs on my Chevrolet Colorado. The thermostat is working great, and the truck is running excellent now. I know where to go for my repair down the road later on. Thank you to all the skilled mechanics there. Keep up the great job and excellent customer service. 5 plus stars. I highly recommend you stop by their shop for your next auto repair. They don't give you the run around. Up front and honest. šš¼šÆšš

Our diagnostic scan showed an error code and our check engine light was on. We called on Friday, they told us to bring it in Monday at 8 a.m. and we did. We also asked them to check belts and chains, shocks and struts and give us an estimate for all of it. They never called and they close at 5:00 so I called at 4:30. They hadn't even done the inspection and they said they would look it over and call me back. Nope, they didn't. The next morning when I called them again, they were all apologizing and trying to explain how busy they were blah blah blah. They did diagnose the check engine/error code and our car is at another auto mechanic now for about the same price. They just made me feel unheard, not taken care of, unimportant, inconvenienced and angry. I said I didn't want to pay for the diagnostic and they agreed so that's the only reason they get one star from me.

The staff was professional and I felt the price was good when compared to other shops in Albuquerque. The staff took pictures and a video to show me the problem and explained why it was important to fix. My car was ready at the time promised.

My driver's side door handle broke off from my 1997 Camry. I called Rio Grande Automotive and can honestly say I would give them more stars if I could. From the time I called to make an appointment, to them handing me my keys after the work was finished, they were nothing but professional, personable, and just super nice guys. They offered suggestions that fit my tight budget. They kept me informed of what was going on when the wrong color paint was delivered to them and had the work completed when they said they would. Highly recommend!

I took our Durango to Andrew for rear shocks and they did a great job, didn't over charge and didn't say we needed any other things we didn't need. They were very kind and did the job in great time. I will be taking my vehicles to them always in the future. We have had so many nightmares with other mechanics, great to find a really good company I can count on. Thanks so much Andrew.

Very honest mechanics that do great work. I highly recommend them. Fair prices, don't overcharge or pop up a bunch of surprise fees or parts at bill time. Usually not a crazy long wait like the dealership has been.
