David and Dave are super helpful and friendly. I would highly recommend bringing your car here for maintenance. They are honest about what is needed and how long the service will take. If anything changes to the plan they will contact you and let you know.

Friendly and helpful. They were able to diagnose and fix a problem that First Texas Honda was unable to figure out. Prices are fair.

David did a pre-purchase inspection on a car my spouse and I are considering buying. He was friendly, very thorough and took the time to explain to me his concerns and make sure I understood the issues, giving me estimates on repairs for both minor and major issues he found. He took photos of the areas of concern and was nice enough to text me those. I felt the price for this service was very reasonable considering how much you could end up paying later if the car you buy had an unseen problem. I will recommend this place to others looking to get a pre-purchase inspection!

Excellent, honest service. Our Toyota Corolla had the trac light off and the techs worked diligently to identify the cause, and did the most practical, basic fix that was covered under their $150 diagnosis charge. Plus they made suggestions about other related issues that we need to take care of at a tire place! Very professional and amazingly compassionate with their stressed out customers!

Mechanic made "assumptions " on what needed to be repaired on my vehicle based on my mileage and not the issue.. he somehow couldn't hear the loud sound my vehicle is making when accelerating. Waited a day and half for an "assumption" which is what I was told by the nice man who charged me for the "diagnostic". I did not have my vehicle repaired here do to lack of effort from the mechanic as my drive belt had been replaced last year and the gentleman at the desk actually looked at it and confirmed it looked fine .

Rising Sun Automotive Foster Lane location restored my confidence in auto mechanics. Based on positive reviews, I towed my 2016 Mazda 3 that needed a new clutch 65 miles from Belton to Austin. The service received was exceptional. At the end, it turned out that I also needed a transmission replaced due to damaged shaft and David allowed me to source used transmission which saved me quite a bit of money. The final cost was exactly what was quoted to me. The job was completed faster then expected and my Mazda drives and shifts better then when I got it. The shop is very clean and nicely organized. Thank you so much for bringing my Mazda back to live.

Had a full engine replacement for a Toyota Camry. Ended up being over $6k. Could have gotten it done cheaper, but wanted a specialist. So far, so good, car is running very well after several weeks.

Excellent repair shop for Japanese vehicles. David and his team performed a road trip check on my 2018 Corolla, and changed front brakes and rotors same day. Price was reasonable for the area, and had the service done sooner than expected. They also (intentionally/unintentionally?) fixed my squeaky suspension, I assume they lubricated the joints or something. Regardless, it was a bonus and goes to show the attention to detail.

Called for a quote on replacing my late mothers 1995 4runner head gasket. They said they would get a quote together for me and call back. They didn't call me back and when I called they said "Yeah we're not going to do that, it's too old." Then hung up. I don't care about the cost as this car has sentimental value to me. My daughter is about to start driving and I am planning to sink 10k plus into this car to restore it. They could have explained their reasons and possibly offered an alternative shop. Or at least said sorry we don't work on cars older than X years. Guess they have so many customers they don't care who they blow off.

I popped into here for a break maintenance light, the gentleman behind the counter said they couldn’t really get it it for a week but it may just be fluid levels. He came out and filled the reservoir for free and sent me on my way! Excellent customer service. Brake lights off. I’ll definitely be coming here for maintenance on my Mazda after setting an appointment.

I shouldn't continue to be surprised by their honesty, but I still am after their work on 3 of my family's cars. At times over the last decade, I've been convinced that there were major problems with my Elantra or my wife's Fit, but they usually came back with quick, simple, cheap fixes. This week, I had a tow truck bring in my uncle's 2010 Miata that hadn't been driven in at least 4 years and wouldn't start, even when the battery was connected to a power source. I expected multiple issues and a bill easily exceeding $1000; even $2000 wouldn't have surprised me. I also told them there was no rush in examining or fixing it. They got back to me less than a day later and said that after some diagnostics, all it needed was a new battery. That's it. They could've charged me ten times as much for unnecessary work, and I wouldn't have batted an eye. These are good folks who do good work.

This was the first time I've left a car repair shop feeling great. From the first interaction over the phone, to dropping my car off, to checkout, and driving away in a much-safer-feeling Lexus, this shop took good care of me. As a woman, it is no secret that you are going to be hyper vigilant to shops trying to take advantage of you. But Rising Sun was fair, honest, and knowledgeable about my car - which is all I could ask for. I got my brakes and rotors replaced, but I will be coming here for all other needs. Highly recommend.
