Don is my go-to car mechanic here in Portland, and I’m so grateful I found him. His honesty and transparency have earned my loyalty, and I recommend him to all of my friends. I’ve had, what I thought, were major issues with my engine and AC, and came prepared to shell out a lot of money to fix them. It turns out that I just needed a new oil filter for my engine and a little bolt replaced on the AC. I have no doubt that some other mechanics may have taken advantage of my naïveté/willingness to pay and found reasons to charge me more. Not Don. He even reached out to me weeks after the AC fix to make sure it was still blowing cold. Incredible service. I can’t recommend him enough!

Don was a delight to work with and got my car looking like new after I damaged the front end. He got the parts quickly and got the repair done faster than expected. All without me having to take it in and him coming right to my house! So convenient. He was communicative throughout the process and cheerful. He will definitely be my go-to from now on. Amazing! Highly recommend! I spoke with serenity. by phone who says he’s a mobile mechanic. As I had not used one before, . I attempted to obtain an auto shop to evaluate my car bec. I realized it would be a major repair & require financing. Portland area has a wait time of 30 - 60 days to be seen. My matter was urgent. I called serenity back. He had a cancellation & came over. I think he spent hours analyzing data from his computers; detection equipment; liquid analyzer tests; pressure testing; cameras placed into every compartment to obtain a full diagnostics of the issue. He offered a temporary remedy which thus far has worked! as to repair said vehicle would be $2k to $3000 ! Do not hesitate to contact him. I have barraged him with countless questions in texts which he has politely addressed even though it’s not his obligation. I highly recommend this service provider! He operates in a trustworthy; skilled & professional manner. 🏅

Excellent Service! Don is very honest, and goes above and beyond to do the very best work! I called him to repair a headlight and did a perfect job for much cheaper than the big body shops! Highly recommended if you want great service and don’t want to get ripped off from the big shops! He can do big jobs and smaller jobs. I wouldn’t trust any one else in PDX with my car!

I was having trouble passing DEQ and didn't know where to go without being taken advantage of. Don looked at my car tested it let me know what I needed found best prices and did the work. I passed DEQ then my daughter needed some work done on a vehicle. She also is very happy. I only call Don for all mechanical issues. I can't express how grateful I am for Don. He knows what he is doing and is more than fair.

If you're looking for a mechanic that is knowledgeable, professional, timely, respectful, kind, and affordable - Don's your guy! Don's pre- purchase inspection was far more affordable than anyone else in town and extremely thorough. He talked me through everything without talking down to me, which I really appreciate as a female navigating vehicle stuff. After purchasing the vehicle I came across something he missed during the inspection. He got me on his calendar right away and offered to cover the cost of the labor. I've NEVER had a mechanic willing to do that. He's a legit guy and I'm super grateful to feel like I've got a reliable mechanic that will be there when I need him. I highly recommend!

Don is an extremely knowledgeable, helpful, kind, and hardworking mechanic. He's a great communicator and always shows up on time. He has fixed several issues on my cars, including an old one, and puts in the time to figure out the best, most cost-effective, and highest quality solution to my repair needs. I wish that I had found Serenity Automotive Repair before letting gary's auto on NE Columbia ruin my vehicle (see my review). After garys on NE Columbia took me to the cleaners trying to fix the air conditioning, the AC compressor went out and left me stranded. I was determined to never return to that den of iniquity and started looking on google. I found Don's shop, Serenity Automotive Repair. He was able to check out my vehicle that day. Before taking it to Don's, another shop had quoted me over $300 more than what Don was able to fix it for. The other shop was also very vague on the fix for it and the pricing. Don saved me over $300 by actually fixing the problem by using a bypass pulley which was not mentioned by the other shop. I highly recommend Don for his integrity, his knowledge, and his gracious demeanor. If you've had problems finding a GOOD, HONEST mechanic look no further than Serenity Automotive Repair.

On November 7, 2023, Don packed up his SUV with testing equipment and drove to a dealer to check out a used car for me. He was thorough, explained everything he found, and charged less than other mechanics offering the same service. He also had a great sense of humor and was fun to talk with. I bought the car and took notes on what sort of work it might need in the future. No regrets.

I had a headlight go out, and the shop up the street told me $250. They said they needed a couple hours because they had to tear my whole front end apart. I took my car to Don, and he fixed it in 15 minutes. And he didn't charge me $250. I couldn't be happier.

Knowledgeable, Professional, and Affordable! Super happy that I found Serenity Automotive. I actually own a fleet of buses in addition to my personal car. Upon first contacting Serenity, I spoke with Don who was helpful in explaining their process. To date, Don has helped with no less than a dozen repairs for me including brakes and suspension, engine repairs, electrical, and even cosmetic stuff. Each time, I have been more than completely satisfied with his quality of work, as he has stated himself that it's important for him to put in the extra effort to make sure the job is done right. He always comes through. My mechanic forever!
