I am the owner of another local shop here in OKC. These guys have always been good to work with. They have gotten us out of a couple jams over the years when we didn't have a vehicle specific tool and we have only seen good work from them. It is nice to have other shops in town that we know does great work.

Just got off the phone with some kid. Very painful and difficult conversation. I just wanted to get a rough estimate for an engine swap on my jeep. I've already priced the remanufactured engine I want and from an exact company and he argued that they only supply the engines. I told him I wanted a specific remanufacturing company that I trust. He argued. Tried to get him back on track several times during the phone call. We get caught in a stalemate when he said they had to run a diagnostic. I told him I've already paid for two, from two different places and it's printed out and they say the same thing. Engine swap. Heads are bad. Just give me a rough estimate. He said he couldn't without doing a diagnostic again, too many variables, blah blah and wants to charge me for what two other reputable shops confirmed. Like I get you are use to talking to people that don't know a damn thing about mechanics, but this felt more like imposing strict rules on a customer that knows what they want and is just calling around shops to get it. I'm not paying for another diagnostic. Save us both some time and read my other diagnostics. Too many variables? All the variables are in the bad engine getting pulled out to be replaced. It's pretty straight forward. If you can't give someone a rough estimate for an idea on shop labor like other shops I called have, why are you in business? Fire the argumentive guy answering your phone. He just ran off a potential customer. Update: I did find a shop to use. Fleet. They gave me a rough estimate for an engine replacement. So did 3 other shops. I've had three diagnostic tests done over the past 2 weeks. I know exactly what I want done and I'd be happy to take my own aftermarket bumper off to eliminate 'unforseen variables.' It's customer service, and your shop is the only one today that didn't offer any.

I have never come across such a group of honest and customer driven people in my life. Shepherd Automotive is "The Most Honest" automotive repair shop that I have ever dealt with. At Shepherd Automotive there is no price gouging, just honest and fair repair cost. I’ve taken all my vehicles to Shepherd Auto for years and I feel very well cared for! Wether I need a routine oil change or a car has a problem, Shepherd Auto gets it done. They always answer the phone and get us in as soon as possible. Highly recommend!

These guys are the best, my daughter had a reoccuring issue with her vehicle just loosing power while she was driving. After 3 different shops including the dealership of the vehicle and over $1,500 and no answer. A friend told me about Shepherd Auto. I called and Scott explained their process for analysis and the cost. They went over the entire vehicle and found the issue. A call from the Scott explained what would have to be done to repair the issue. A detailed print out of all issues found, the recommended solutions with a time and cost was sent to her. Next the granddaughter's car just quit. The vehicle was towed to Shepherd. They called to let me know the vehicle had arrived and they would run their analysis and give me a call. Within hours they sent a complete analysis and cost report. She wasn't able to have everything repaired only the repairs that would get it road ready. When we came to pick up the vehicle Scott had taken the time to prioritize the repairs that she wasn't able to have done at the time in order of their importance. By the way I received the original referral to Shepherd Automotive from another mechanic.

Well, the only thing I can review so far is that they are very responsive to customers, even new ones. I was able to take a tech on a test drive so he could hear and feel the problem with my vehicle. Then I joked about a loaner and they actually didn't even blink when they asked if I wanted a Prius or an old police interceptor as if it were a question at all. Of course I chose the police car but it had a slightly low tire. Ryan did not like the idea of letting a customer drive off with a tire that had a slow (or fast) leak. They worked some magic and had another tech bring up a Honda Ridgeline. I was a little disappointed that the police interceptor was off the list but still pleased about a really nice complimentary loaner (all you have to do is put gas back up to where it was when you got it). I will update once I get an estimate! Update: They are very expensive but did a good job on fixing my Jeep. They found and fixed a squeak that was driving me nuts. Update 2: I had a clunking noise that I needed fixed. I poked around my self but could not find what it was. I took it to Shepard Automotive and they diagnosed it as Struts. I was skeptical but since they had done very well for me in the past, and I was out of town, I told them to fix it. The estimate was for $2300+ for 2 Struts and alignment. I nearly choked at the estimate. But since the timing was not good for me to do it myself, I decided to let them do the repair. When i got back in town they were just finishing up the job so I just waited in the lobby area. An hour later they told me that one of the Struts was making a noise and needed to get another one put in. They gave me loaner for the weekend and I picked up my Jeep on Monday. They told me that they had to replace an upper control arm that was ruined during the Strut installation. When I asked them what side they said it was the left side. That was the same side I had the noise originally. They said they would not charge me for it. I have a feeling that I paid way too much for Struts when all I needed to have fixed was the upper control arm. They are very friendly and helpful but I think they may have misdiagnosed this one issue.

Ryan, was fabulous and listens to the full problem, they were quick they got my ac and heater to work after two seasons with neither. Definitely recommended, affordable for what I had done. If extensive work is needed they speak to u first and give options. High recommend

I should not have used you all. I didn’t like the experience from the start. Up front payments, half down is the first time I experienced either one of these at a repair shop. Then to receive a list of recommended maintenance items a mile long that had nothing to do with the reason I brought it in. Some of these recommended items were also really questionable due to some of my research. I would also say one of my original reasons for bringing it in was not fixed completley.

Shepherd took great care of my 20 year old Mercury. It just had 31,000 miles, but needed its 20 year old fluids flushed and changed, and needed to replace leaking air suspension components, and AC that was not cooling properly. Things work perfectly after the changes.

Want to give a zero star. Wanted me to pay three times more than what the actual real problem was, took it for a second look and almost all the problems they said I needed to fix are not an issue at all and didn’t even find the actual problem that two other places ended up agreeing what the problem was without charging me 200.00. Will never go back again and will tell anyone not to use this place!
